Proctor Agus scanned the sky looking for any sign of the shuttle. The glare of the afternoon sun beat down on his face making it almost impossible to see anything coming out of the west.
His wife and son were now overdue by almost an hour and he was getting worried. Even given the turbulence one might encounter in the time continuum, an hour was unusual. He could only hope his family would be arriving home soon.
In the back of his mind he had another worry which he had been unsuccessfully trying to push away. There had been numerous reports of time pirates in this sector. The pirates were an unsavory lot, led by Col. Nolan “Bloody” Pierce, an ex-military time commander gone bad.
