Greenskinz
08-05-2004, 05:20
OCC: The Greenskinz do not operate within a certain tech level. In some RPs they are future, while others they are fantasy. Incidentally, they do not have a 'set' location, though names of common cities and bases are used interchangeably throughout the RPs.

The Greenskinz Report
Its hard to go into any fantasy world and not get attacked by some sort of large, green, blood-thirsty monster. Some examples are your common goblin, their larger cousins the Orcs, or one of the (to) many breeds of trolls. The scouts of Skeelzania have spent many years researching, cataloguing and basically trying not to get eaten by these creatures, collectivly know as "Greenskinz".

Greenskinz Fantasy Info
The Greenskinz are not to be confused with a united nation. They are a myriad of Clans that are constantly fighting, allying to fight other Clans, and fighting eachother when the supply of enemies is in short supply. However, this guide can offer a break-down on their social structure, culture, and a detailed description of the larger Clans. But first, a explanation of what a Greenskin actually is.

What are "Greenskinz"?
The term "Greenskinz" applies to any number of species that are typically green of skin, brutal, and stupid. There are three distinct 'species' of Greenskinz, each containing numerous subspecies. The first of these are the Goblins, who are also the smallest. They tend to live underground or in forested and swampy areas. They are somewhat cowardly although their intelligence is a notch above that of their cousins, the Orcs.

Orcs are significantly larger than Goblins, averaging about man-height. They are much broader than men though, and incidentally much stronger. In addition to being the most common Greenskinz, they are also one of the most violent, only being surpassed by Trolls.

These are the last of the 3 Greenskinz species, but unlike their smaller cousins they tend to lead solitary lives, shunning the organization exhibited in Orcs and Goblins. Among Orcs there is a legend of a Troll King, though there is no solid evidence to support this.

Greenskinz Social Structure
Aside from the Trolls, Greenskinz tend to organize themselves into large Clans. These are themselves conglomorations of tribes, who constantly vie with eachother for Clan leadership (Clans almost always have the same name no matter which tribe is currently in command). Clans in turn vie with eachohter for domination over the local area. Occasionally a Clan Boss will defeat his rivals and bring several clans under his command. This is generally a bad thing for the local population, as the Super-Clan will march against anyone who happens to be in their way.

Orcish Clans
As Orcs are the most dangerous when organized, a breif description of their principal Clans has been included here.
Orc Clans are little more than armies where all the soldiers happen to be related. They are led by a Boss, who in turn has Leiutenants(Bashars) that form his personal bodyguard. While each Clan has a healthy dose of nearly every type of warrior, they tend to favor one type over others.

Clan Fleashcleaver
Boss Title: Big Cleava'
Banner: A bloody cleaver on a black field
Speciality: Heavy Infantry.

Clan Fleashcleaver is currently the most powerful of the Orcish Clans. Their leader, Big Cleava' Brunk, led them to victory over Clan Murgle and dominion over the Orcs of the Midlands. Their current home base is Mount Grobbadam, a massive fortiefied mountain on the edge of Da Big Sandy desert.

The Fleashcleavers favor Heavy Infantry in battle. Your standard Cleaver is typically armored with plate or chain (full sets are rare however) and weilds some sort of heavy blade or axe. Missle troops and cavalry are rare amongst this Clan, who find the clash of infantry lines to be a jolly good time.

Clan Pigstikka
Boss Title: Da Big Pokka
Banner: A speared pig on a green field.
Speciality: Medium Infantry, especially spearmen.

The Pigstikkas are the second largest Clan in the Midlands. They reside on the fertile foothills of Da Fooms, a volcanically-active mountain range that borders Da Big Sandy and the fertile lands to the north. Here they hunt wild Boar, becoming experts with the spear at the same time. Although most nations consider the spear a defensive weapon, the Pigstikkas have found it can be effectivly used offensivily.

Pigstikka warriors are not as heavily armored as the Fleashcleavers; wearing half-armor and usually a helm of some sort. Their favored weapon is the spear or pike, though Bosses and Bashars sometimes carry large Orcish Halberds(Choppin' Stikks). Basic strategy calls for a mass of spearmen to charge the enemy lines and simply force their way through, any wounded foes being crushed under the boots of countless Orcs.

Da Dezert Boyz
Boss Title: None
Banner: None
Speciality: Light Cavalry
The Orcs of Da Big Sandy are not a Clan in the traditional sense. The harsh enviroment has never supported large numbers of inhabitants, although small nomadic tribes are viable. Incidentally, Dezert Boyz are a nomadic people; riding their Dezert Pigs and acting as foragers and raiders. They are also the least technically advanced of the Orcs and generally looked down upon by their northern cousins.

Your standard Dezert warrior is mounted, lightly armored and weilding a crude weapon of some sort. A favorite is the Cactus-club, which is literally an arm of a cactus pulled over some type of core, such as a leg bone. While almost wholy ineffective against armored opponents and breaking easily, it is simple to produce and can leave a nasty amount of spikes in one's face.
