The Cooperative of Greenfarm extends its greetings...

Greenfarm

I, Chairman Mangan extend cordial greetings to the international community on behalf of the Cooperative of Greenfarm.
We believe that it is fair that we share a little information about ourselves to further diplomatic ties and to encourage trade and commerce within our borders.

We are a largely agricultural nation that believes that a society dedicated to the growth of all life and the preservation of natural cycles and methods will eventually achieve the greater happiness.
Vegetarianism is a choice but is deemed as unnatural.
We promote limited industry just so long as it does not disrupt the environment and this tends towards the processing of foods.
In the production of foods, we do not use pesticides. We use fertilisers from time to time but these tend to be natural sources rather than the manufactured ammonium nitrate.
We believe that democracy should be the responsibility of the citizens and therefore it is compulsory. All issues are decided by the people within the Cooperative.
The government takes an active role in planning the economy but encourages the acquisition of wealth so long as it is earned.

As we said earlier, we welcome communication from the outside.

From: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRK

The People’s Republic of Krasnovaria greets the Chairman of the Cooperative of Greenfarm and all of its people. We salute a country that dedicates itself to the betterment of the natural world and the welfare of the people. Krasnovaria welcomes the establishment of diplomatic and commercial relations between our two states. Let us, in your spirit, announce our own brief manifesto of fundamental beliefs:

Our motto is “The good of the People is the highest law,” to that end, we work to better the lives of all citizens through an extensive social welfare system. Many major industries are nationalized to ensure a fair deal for all citizens.

While we follow a socialistic path, we reject any creed that denies the essential rights of freedom of religion or of private property.

We believe that the people have a right to a voice in government, and to that end we maintain a freely elected National Consultative Congress of the People’s Delegates to ensure that their concerns are heard and acted upon by those in power.

May our two nations’ futures be united in peace and friendship as we work together for the good of all!

As some of my less couth collegues might say, "Welcome to the meat grinder".

Stepping onto the world stage is always a big step, and one that is not taken lightly. The Semi-Autonomous Technocratic Oligarchy welcomes you to the internation community, and wishes you the best. You will find every conceivable flavor and variety of government.

Some will agree with your aims and views, many will not. Most, however, will at least leave you alone. Much as we will.

Official Communiqué
On behalf of the Dutch Democratic Republic of Knootoss I extend to you a warm welcome to the international community. We sincerely hope that we can work together on common goals in the spirit of international cooperation. I offer to your nation a treaty of free trade between our nations. I’m sure that, given the service-oriented nature of our industries, we can appreciate the imports of agricultural products. Should you require financial services, recreational drugs, or a source to carry an expansive a media network then my ministry can put you into contact with some of our businesses.

The Cooperative of Greenfarm is jubilant at the reception of these messages of welcome.

Knootoss, we are currently exporting all manner of agricultural goods including some high quality marijauna that we normally use for the purposes of medicine. We are willing to export that in addition to foods for a reasonable market price in addition to the use of your media network; we wish to advertise our products to all who recieve Knootian media services.

OOC: Well, ok, done. The market for marijauna is quite full, however, so I don't think exports in that field will be very profitable. There is a huge multinational drugs corporation called Bonifatius Recreational Pharamacuticles Incorporated (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138534&highlight=) that controlls most of the market in the DDR.
Agricultural goods are welcome, though and ads can certainly be arranged.
(Lets consider it background to RP ;) )

EDIT: Weeded out excessive smilies.

OOC: Economically speaking, one could see it as competition in the market. We are trying to be of higher quality in Marijauna than the current suppliers.
How would this RP play out?

OOC: My bad. I meant it as in 'not actually RPing it' but just agreeing that it is happening. It would be important in both our economic descriptions, and in other economic RP's it would be taken into consideration.

I understand the principles of competition and all, but Bonifatius would eliminate most competition on the home market (Others have tried before) and is itself delivering very high quality goods. Of course you can export (its a free market anyways) but any entrepeneurial activity growing too big in the home market would get a (hostile) takeover bid or other nastiness.

I don't know how your industries are organised, btw, as Bonifatius may even try to take it over activities back in Greenfields through merger. (If it is indeed a collective that would be more difficult.) I would have to discuss such an attempt with the other nation (The church of Psychotropics) also...
EDIT: forming a cartel might also work. :P
Greenfarm

OOC: I never meant to actually RP it either, I too thought we were agreeing that it is happening.
You suggested that we Rp and I was wondering what kind of RP you had in mind?
It should be noted that foriegn corporations have to meet extremely high regulations before they are even allowed to do business in Greenfarm and a large section of profit is taken by the government for development of existing natural resources making foriegn investment difficult.

OOC: Okay, noted then. This would make a takeover of Greenfarms domestic holdings unlikely ;) Have fun on NS!
