The Free Republic of Ilek-Vaad currently has three main political parties.

The Vaadist Loyalist Party (V.L.P.)
is currently the ruling party, and is the oldest political party in the Free Republic. It was orginally started by the House of Vaad (former royal line) to give control of the nation back to the House of Vaad through democratic means. Currently it is a right wing party that supports military growth, an aggressive foreign policy, tighter rules on immigration and lower taxes.

The Republican Order Party (R.O.P.)
is the main centrist party that fosters financial stability, military preparedness and a very utilitarian foreign policy. The R.O.P. has the most fluid political ideals. It simply supports whatever aids economic growth and stability in the Free Republic, acting with neutrality and pragmatism.

The Progressive Republican Party (P.R.P.)
is the main liberal party and is the stronghold of the large labour unions. The P.R.P. fosters education, workers rights, open immigration and a friendly open door foreign policy. The P.R.P. was the longest ruling party and is the only party ever to have a 100% majority of the Republican Council. Most of Ilek-Vaad's enviromental, safety and workers rights laws date back to the years of P.R.P. dominance.

The Fascist Party of Sye, then made a move to imprison the Jews of Sye, this move was defeated in Parliament, but lead to violence in the streets. The Great Boffist Party waited for the perfect time, gaining the support of the Sye army, it took power by force. The age of the sickness and decay of democracy was over.

The Great Boffist Party had taken control of Sye, when it had its own war inside the party. This war was fought over the issue of political rights and role of the government in religion. Michael Harris took power from the traitors in the party and became the first Emperor of Sye. The rein of freedom and glory had begun; the Nationalist Socialist Party had formed and came to power. May the Nationalist Socialist Party of the Holy Empire of Sye, rein for a thousand years!

IC:
i don't know about other nations, but bonilika government have noticed a rise in Nazism. The national socialist party is the only other main party here in Bonilika. We allowed them to have a rally only on the grounds that the speakers do not promote racism. Sadly, there leader, Oliver Zinker, sparked riots after claiming that the holocaust was "a jewish lie" and stated that it never happened.
I feel that serious action needs to be taken due to the fact that we cannot bare to see another raise of nazism in the world.

Just because we have one party does not make us a Dictatorship, we are a Krytocracy (see Plato’s “The Republic); only the most educated and responsible are allowed to participate in the government and make the decisions. This is done to avoid the mess created in Representative open democracies, where you can have an under-educated rich oil tycoon lead the country with no relevant skills.

Neo-Fascists:
- Encourage domestic economic dependence and institutions
- National issues and citizens the biggest and only priority, no help will be given to another nation while there is a single starving person on our own streets
- Crime prevention a national priority, thus monitoring of the masses (if you don't brake the law you have nothing to fear)
- Creation of large scale transportation systems set to issue of national importance in order to support the economy
- Communism is banned - If you do not work and are able to, you will not bring down your neighbor with your lack of dedication and weak ethics
- The enfeeble and young will be supported by the government; they are our past, our future, and our responsibility
- The color of your skin, or the Abrahamic religion you follow does not matter, if you are of our people you are one of us! (Rascism towards a fellow citizen or resident is not tollerated!)

Our three main political parties.

Confectionist Party (this party is currently in power in CharlotteMaria)
- A far-right party.
- Will possibly be outvoted in the next election.
- Goal - To promote individual and economic liberty and to eliminate anything that gets in the way of personal success or productivity.
- Senate Seats - 924 out of 2241.
- Commited to laizzes-faire economic policies and oppose labor regulations and tariffs.
- Tend to be against anti-poverty programs, and have a policy of only maintaining a minimal level of social welfare.
- Want to maintain the policy of high spending and consumer choice for health and education.
- Usually take a hard line on crime. Deterrent rather than rehabilitation.

Oraist Party
- A center-right party.
- May win next election.
- Goal - To create a happy and stable society in which people all have ballanced lives of work, rest and play.
- Senate Seats - 705 out of 2241.
- Commited to a mostly free market, but demand more regulations to prevent labor exploitation.
- Want more anti-poverty programs to help the working poor.
- Want to maintain the policy of high spending and consumer choice for health and education.
- Want to be softer on crime. Demand less use of the death penalty, except for very serious crimes.

Socialist Party
- A left wing party.
- Not much chance of winning next election.
- Goal - To bring the nation back to the high levels of social equality as before the Confectionists came to power.
- Senate Seats - 519 out of 2241.
- Want tighter regulations on free enterprise in order to reduce inequality.
- Want more anti-poverty programs to help everybody reach the same standards of living as everbody else.
- Are against school choice as they see school choice as socially divisive.
- Want to abolish the death penalty.

Although a multi-party system, the way the government is structured allows easy access for one political party to gain control over much of the nation.

 The Socialistic Machine: (Iron-Fisted Ruling Majority)
The main power in the Principality. Formerly known as the DPUW (Democratic Party for Unionized Workers), the annexation of lesser social parties forced the change of name and several positions of power. Considered a state within a state, the SM holds sway over much of the actual decisions within the government. Holding control over military and technology sectors, virtually all economic drive and advancement in the nation is under the control of the Socialistic Machine. The triumverate ruling the POH are all SM's.
-Largest party in the Principality (55 of 101 seats in the Great
Assembly)
-Very militaristic/controls the Principality's military forces
-Not environmentaly friendly
-Provide national healthcare and universal staples for everyone

 The Communal Republicans:
As one of the surviving original parties in the Principality of Hetorulus, the CR was deposed after the Civil War that enslaved the country for a decade and a half finally ended with the socialists gaining the upper hand over the communists. While still having some of a voice in the country's legislature, it now is more of a whisper.
-The smallest party with representation (2 of the 101 seats in the
Great Assembly)
-Argue for a reform in the democratic process
-Believe that the central government should be eradicated
-Only true purpose now is environmental regulations (watchdog
of the SM on this aspect)

 The Vindar Corporation:
Although a corporation by other economic standards, in the POH, The Vindar Corporation has both the money and dedication to buy its place into seats of power. Providing the ruling SM party with almost all of its military needs, its position as a major player in POH affairs is ensured (as long as the SM Party retains its authority.
-The 2nd largest party in the POH( 19 of 101 seats in the Great
Assembly)
-Produces almost 90% of all military componants (including soldiers)
in the POH
-Considered highly integrated with the SM/have much of the same
policies

 The Technocrats
A hard hitting political party with an emphasis on the progression of the Principality's way of life through technological means. The most serious threat to the SM's ruling majority and the most enigmatic party in the country. To get inside the party from the outside is nearly impossible which leads many to wonder how its survival even endures.
-Largest non-authoritarian party in the Great Assembly(25 of 101
seats in the Great Assembly)
-encourage radical technological progress
-pro-business
-survives due to economic capitol derived from its moon
settlement/mining and business colonies on nearby planets
Tychus and Duncheon

Although other more minor parties exist, their affects on daily life in the Principality of Hetorulus are neglegable and have basically no representation in the Great Assembly. Truth be told, anything outside of the Socialistic Machine's influence has a very short shelf life.

Knootoss
07-05-2004, 22:47
Multi-party system. In a nutshell, an overview of latest parliamentary election results:

[code:1:66a4fe1a76]
SLP_: Sociaal-Liberale Partij____ : 63
KGP_: Knootiaanse Groene Partij__ : 62
RCPK: Realistische Cons.Partij Kn.: 69
KEP_: Knootiaanse Elven Partij___ : 1
SP__: Socialistische Partij______ : 4
IP__: Imperialistische Partij____ : 1[/code:1:66a4fe1a76]

SLP: Social Liberal Party, as the name implies it is a centrist party. It has been in government in almost all coalitions, and is usually free to pick the leftist greens or the conservatives to govern with. Is currently in government with the conservative RCPK, and has governed with conservative coalitions on several occasions. Has, however, also headed coalitions with the greens.

KGP: Green Party, but a broad one at that. Ecological, the party headed by Femke Halsema represents most of Knootoss' truly 'left wing' mainstream. It should be noted, however, that the SLP has a left wing as well.

RCPK: Realistische Cons.Partij Kn.: Self-styled "moderate" conservatives these conservatives broke away from the original conservative party when it radicalised under the populist leader Dick Tator. It is currently the biggest party in coalition with the SLP. Headed by the charismatic Knootian Prime Minister Galadriël Táralóm nos Cirdan. The elf appears to be leading the conservatives to a more radically pro-market course.

KEP: This 'Elvish' special interest party used to have broad support amongst the elvish population segment, taking a generally pro-capitalist and pro-Menelmacari course. However, the rise of Galadriël as head of the conservative RCPK slashed away their voter base and after the last election only one seat remains for this party that once made or broke conservative coalitions.

SP: The Socialist Party is just what it says it is, although its line is definitly not social-democrat. (the SLP is generally seen as representing a third-way version of social-democracy in the DDR) Instead, this party has a radical socialist course and has met with surprising success in the last elections.

IP: The Imperialist Party wants to turn Knootoss into an Empire, headed by a Queen they themselves proposed. This party (which is generally not taken overly serious) has won its seat due to relentless campaigning from misterious funds. Generally attracts disillusioned voters.
Vorpoing
20-05-2004, 06:55
The People's Republic of Vorpoing has four major political parties participating in the affairs of state. We have a bi-cameral parliament, but it works differently than you might think.

Our system is split into political and economic control structures.

The National Workers' Council (NWC) is in charge of overall national economic policy, setting production goals, regulating inter-regional trade, and ensuring a diversity of goods and services throughout the nation by democratic means. It is, essentially, an economic parliament--something you'll only see in a true socialist nation.

The National Popular Council (NPC) is the political arm of government and is in charge of all public policy issues. It handles all of the sorts of political questions you might think a parliament would handle.

The current political makeup of the two houses by political party:

The Popular Socialist Party (PSP) is the largest party in the country, and controls a significant number of seats in both the NWC and the NPC. It is in favor of continuing the advances made since the socialist revolution 15 years ago, and has been the dominant party in power since that time.

NWC Seats: 115 (out of 195)
NPC Seats: 165 (out of 225)

The Militant Communist Party (MCP) is the second largest party in the country, and is often a force to pull the PSP to the left. It wants to move the country more quickly towards a pure communist state.

NWC Seats: 50 (out of 195)
NPC Seats: 45 (out of 225)

The two smaller parties in parliament have formed a center-left alliance. The Moderate Party (MP) and the Green Party (GP) have both been forces who try to slow down the pace of the revolution and make sure that the country doesn't forget its environmental priorities in the process of creating a socialist state. Because of this alliance, the two parties like to have their seats listed together.

NWC Seats: 28 (out of 195)
NPC Seats: 14 (out of 225)

There are several smaller parties, but none play a major role in political affairs in the country. The only other party that has managed to get a few seats is the Freedom Party (FP), a counter-revolutionary party that has not had much success except from former business leaders frustrated at their lack of power in the new socialist system.

NWC Seats: 2 (out of 195)
NPC Seats: 1 (out of 225)
Bohravia
20-05-2004, 07:15
Bohravia is a dictatorship, ruled solely by the United Socialist Party - an entity born of a merger between a fascist party and a Communist one  .

Party policies consist of:

- Lack of free speech and human rights for the people

- The employ of a secret police to spy on the population; any challenges to the government (ie. demonstrations) are brutally put down by the National Police or in the worst cases, by the National Guard

- Defense, industry and the economy are the No. 1 priorities although tons of high-quality consumer goods are available, albeit at high prices...it's still a capitalist country though

- Foreigners are treated badly with next to no rights*(except Western tourists with money to burn), but not discriminated against on racial lines per se. There is also no notion of racial superiority, instead one of ultra-patriotism

*Same goes for the poor and underprivileged

- Maintains virtually no diplomatic relations*, and proudly boycotts the UN

*On May 25th 2004, Bohravia gained membership to the Capitalist/Anti-Communist Alliance (CAA). As a result Bohravia now maintains close ties with CAA nations, although its isolationist policy towards democratic/capitalist and other nations remains

Well, the young nation of Baureus, which recently gained its independence, has three major parties:

The Police Force: Not really a party - it is actually the national police force!
Few issues to address as it is only a temporary government.
Leader: Police Chief Henrik Polissik Thomsons

Baureusian Democratic Alliance:
A very strong party with an attractive group of candidates to run for the title of governor in the four states of Baureus.
Leader:Political critic James Fernando Green Geralds

Coaliton de Democratic:
The Democratic Alliance's closest rival. Opinion polls point to its victory in the coming General Elections.
Leader: George Grahams
KT MPLG

Unity Party -
Leader - Sarah Sayalle, current Deus Ex Machina
Seats in the Forum - 24/50
Political stance - The Unity Party is generally moderate-liberal with a high regard for education, but they are bent on revitalizing the economy through high-tech business as well. Their number one priority right now is to stop religious violence through the promotion of civil rights acts. Sayalle, a Buddhist, took the reigning name of LN YVKR, and only time will tell whether it will be a symbol of tolerance, or a shot in the foot.

Conservative Party -
Leader - Leo Bolger, Forum representative from the capital of Miralan
Seats in the Forum - 18/50
Political stance - The Conservative Party sees no problem with the way things are now, although they also support the growth of new industry. They are quite concerned about the issues of crime, defense, and tradition. They have recently forced the Unity Party into a number of concessions, including the new LI7 Surveillance Net.

Deo Nova Party -
Leader - Master Roy Paulson, Forum representative from Derenor
Seats in the Forum - 6/50
Political stance - This is the special interest party for Selianism, the nation's dominant religion. Although it is no longer the force that it used to be due to missionaries and the rise of Unity, they take a very hard line on social and religious issues, and will not back down.

Communist Party -
Leader - Unknown
Seats in the Forum - 1/50
Political stance - They're communists.

And there is one independent, Ken Hikari, who holds a seat. He is a powerful environmentalist and actor, and won the election in his hometown of St. Alicia. He is also the most likely to filibuster.
Temme

We have4 major parties.
-Socialist Labour Party--currently the party in power. They are a democratic socialist party. They take a more moralistic approach to social issues. Their leader is Sasha Cheenin. Of 300 seats, they have 175.

-Reform Conservative Party--a grassroots right-wing party. They are pro-gun, pro-small business, etc. They are also moralistic on social issues. Their leader is Ned Jones. Of 300 seats, they have 75.

-Progressive Party--ostensibly a centrist party, actually a party of big business. Their leader is Midas T. Golden. Of 300 seats, they have 50.

-Libertarian Party--very pro-freedom in all areas of life. Their leader is Jessica Olino. Of 300 seats, they have 25.

This is how are government is now.
The head of the Executive Branch is elected to 20 year terms.
The Legislative districts are distributed eveny based on population, the difference between the largest and smallest districts in only 8,956 residents.
Each districts gets one representative.
Their are 689 districts in our country.
435 Fascist/Nationlist.
251 Socialist/Communist
3 Democrats/Republicans
The Fascist and Democratic parties are both somewhat recent parties, for a while we were a Stalinist state, the communist party had total control, they were unable to stop the fascist after a series of military, defeats isn't the right word, um, disapointments, and the collapse of the economy.
Pantocratoria
21-05-2004, 06:01
Both Pantocratorian political parties with seats in the Imperial Parliament broke away from the previous governing party (which held 100% of all the seats in the Imperial Parliament) - the United Christian Front, which was lead by the Emperor's brother, the Prince Basil.

The United Christian Front was dissolved when the Emperor's sister, the Princess Irene, lead a party-room coup to oust her brother Basil and form the Pantocratoria First Party. She became Chancellor and her brother became the leader of the Opposition party, which was named the Loyal Christian Front. The vast majority of their policies are identical.

Pantocratorian politics has been explained in a number of threads, and I won't go into it here - suffice to say that the Emperor holds absolute power, and the Imperial Parliament only exists so that the Emperor doesn't have to exercise it. In a very practical sense, the Emperor both reigns and rules - this is no constitutional monarchy.
Cabinia
21-05-2004, 07:09
Political parties in Cabinia emphasize the party and deemphasize the political... pass me another margarita. Also, political parties get renamed by the opposition, as journalists gleefully switch to the new, alcohol induced name and cease to use the proper one. This brings us, in order of current influence:

The Useless Party (54% last popular vote)
- Small government
- Minimal regulation of business
- Free market
- Minimal social programs
- Maximum civil/political freedom

The reigning President (chief executive of domestic affairs) and Prime Minister (chief executive of foreign affairs) are both Useless.

The Lazy Bastards Party (32% last popular vote)
- Large government
- Tight regulation of business
- Maximum social programs
- Collectivist/Marxist
- Big government

The Paranoia Party (8% last popular vote)
- Military buildup/interventionist
- Pro-business, anti-labor
- Religious
- Maximum social/civil regulation
- Overwhelmingly huge government

The Tree Hugger Party (aka Magic Mushrooms Party) (less than 1% last popular vote... it is suspected their constituency is larger, but it doesn't make it to the polls and/or has difficulty casting its intended ballot)
- Pro environment
- Pro social programs
- Anti-business
- Civil rights extremists (ex: anti-clothing)
- Medium government

The AustralianRepublic
16-06-2004, 09:01
The parties of the Federation of The Australian Republic are RL current Australian parties (eg. Labor, Liberal, Democrats etc.) but these are the new parties formed since republicanism in NS world:

Popular Party of Australia (PPA)
- Democratic socialists, Marxist leanings
- More popular than the proper Communist Party
- Social reform platform
- Supporters make up about 3% of the overall electorate

Australian Republican Party (ARP)
- Pro-free market
- Pushing to terminate membership in the Commonwealth (like South Africa, it's still in there despite now being a republic)
- Allegedly considering abolishing the states and replacing them with administrative districts if elected

Commonwealth Unity Party (CPU)
- Diehard monarchists, pro-Commonwealth
- Pledge to dissolve the republic and reinstate the Commonwealth of Australia if elected

Anarchist Front
- They're anarchists.

The actual political system is virtually unchanged from before, except minor seats have slightly increased powers and the head of state is now a President. The President has no more power than the old post of Governor-General however, with the Prime Minister still actually running the show.

Popular Front parties (centre-left and left)

The Popular Front parties are the current ruling coalition of the Divine Imperium of Novar Ohan and the Sunset Isles. Generally centre-left, they came to power in a shock upset, seizing, together, 47% of the vote and thus claiming a majority in the House of Burghers.

Socialist Party

The Socialist Party, led by Prime Minister Clarissa Bencenoff, is a social-democrat organisation based in the People's Republic of Altara. Their policies are based on a reorganisation of the Divine Imperium's fuedalist/corporatist economy and government in a way which better helps the lower classes. Trade policies are to slowly open up to the outer world, and to make further contact with the other liberal democracies.

Peace Party

The Peace Party is based on the premise that less money should be spent on the military and more money should be spent on...anything, really. Considered revolutionary, their leader Deputy Prime Minister James Genser has sworn loyalty to the regime. It is unknown what his real opinions are.

Altaran Bolshevik Party

Ruling party of the People's Internal Republic of Altara. In exchange for their continued existence and the lack of firebombing of Altaran cities as traitors, they have sworn loyalty to the regime and are purely concerned with re-organising their own city-state. The nobles of Derricks, Agua, and Altara generally look upon the fate of the Altaran nobility as, in the words of Grand Duke Leopold von Agua, 'entirely deserved...'

CRO Walter Katovsky claims 'increasing liberalisation and democratic elections '...generally believed when he says that, as not even the most rabid revolutionary is willing to consider the painful fate that lying to the southerners will bring.

A Bolshevik party in name only now that the revolution proper has run its course...settling down into a normal socialist worker's party.

Centre and centre-right Parties

Not a coalition as such, these two parties never the less form a powerful bloc in the parliament.

Central Democratic Party

Leader of the Opposition Carlos Papen once described his party as 'a humongous polygot of ideas from all sides of the spectrum...whatever benefits this Imperium on a whole is our policy.' While this is more simple politician speak than anything meaningless, the CDP's track record speaks in its favour.

Catholic Front

While in the past this party was in the front of calls for the destruction of heresy and so on, now it is merely a spokesparty for the Church. It preaches political mediation, and was in the lead for the over-turning of the 'Refugee Laws', which gave the coast guard license to blow up any refugee boat they desired.

<Right wing parties soon>

National Bloc (Right and Radical Right)

Not a coalition in any sense of the word.

National Socialist Imperial Worker's Party

The 'Nasos' are

*Anti-Jew

*Anti-foreigner

*Anti-trade

*Anti-Moslem

*Anti-left

*Anti-Centre

*anti-Right

It's easier, sometimes, to define people by what they're against, than what they're for, yes?

Imperial Party

The majority of members of the House of Nobles are affiliated with this party, which is militaristic and a proponent of conquest of the surrounding small islands. Authoritarian-right, the leader considered Prince Alexander to be a piddling socialist.
Adderton
16-06-2004, 09:53
The Union Party
-> Mainly for international trade/economy
-> Also advocates for updating economy
-> Prefers that the nation's fractured cultures come to a whole
-> Prefers that the development of Wesport and Sauport should be a priority

The Coastal Party
-> Advocates for growth in national economy first, then international trade
-> Advocates for looser restrictions on interstate taxes
-> Prefers for the military to be based on a militia stance rather than an organized stance
-> Prefers that the government should give subsidaries to agriculture

The Independents
-> Advocates for the political rights of the ranchers, cowboys, and railroad workers
-> Very pro-worker, pro-individual
-> Seeks the development of the Adderton Rail as a national transporation system
-> Seeks government reformation in the representation of all peoples

The Radicals
-> Small party in favor of more political rights for the coastal areas rather than those of the desert
-> Mainly based in Sauport, very little support outside of that
Ariddia
16-06-2004, 12:27
The People's Democratic Social Republic of Ariddia is a multi-party democracy, but voter apathy, combined with support for the government, means the same party is constantly re-elected. Other parties barely even campaign any more.

Democratic Communist Party (DCP)
Extreme left party. Currently in power. The government sees itself as transitional while the country and people prepare for anarchy (true socialism), but remains in power for now, stating the nation is not yet ready to go without a government.
Seats in the People's Prime Parliament: 92 (out of 99)
Ideology (i.e. what the government has implemented):
- enhance social rights, including:
* free health care
* free education
* housing for all
* jobs for all
- enhance civil rights
- protect the environment
- nationalise the economy / outlaw private enterprise

Movement for a Democratic Alternative (MDA)
Right of centre party.
Seats in the People's Prime Parliament: 5 (out of 99)
Ideology:
- restore the economy through massive privatisation
- maintain but limit social rights
- bring Ariddia into the world market and make the country competitive

People's Party (PP)
Extreme left party.
Seats in the People's Prime Parliament: 2 (out of 99)
- maintain a communist economy but restore its strength
- abolish many environmental laws hampering the economy
- temporarily reduce democratic and civil rights until a strong economy has been restored

Green Party (GP)
Left-wing party.
Seats in the People's Prime Parliament: 0 (out of 99)
The Green Party is allied to the DCP, and sees itself as the DCP's "environmental conscience reminder". In practice, few people see any need for the Green Party, as the DCP is already strongly pro-environmental.

True Socialist Movement (TSM)
Formerly the "Anarchy Now! Movement". Extreme left party.
Seats in the People's Prime Parliament: 0 (out of 99)
The TSM has recently begun taking part in elections. It is a splinter movement from the DCP. The TSM considers Ariddia is ready for true socialism (anarchy), and that the DCP government has lost its way and is clinging to power.
Uncle Noel
19-07-2004, 11:15
Political parties? What the devil are they?

Here in the Fiefdom, all enjoy the comfort and ease that only a totalitarian state can provide. Why do people need to be lumbered with such rot as 'elections' and 'parliaments' when Uncle Noel provides all the leadership they could possibly want.

Just ask anyone in the street..................just amke sure you've got your official 'minder' with you. That's even if you get in, which you probably won't.

Carlemnaria
19-07-2004, 12:08
in carlemnaria no law becomes binding on any segment of the
population without a majority approval of that population itself

local councils are elected by plurality vote
that means pure write in

in most communities everyone who is elegible to vote
is elegible to be elected

though they may also modify this if they so choose

at any rate political parties as such are unneccessary
and generaly abscent

some opt to have an origeonality qualification

and some use various randomizing proceedures

and of course no community may lawfully prevent anyone
from leaving

and only under very unusual circumstances anyone from entering

anyone can put anything on their local community's agenda too.

to the greatest degree possible (which is very nearly totaly)
we function nonhierarchicly

Has only 10 seats in the 400 seat Alting

Various regional parties: Generally only minor parties that seek government support of their particular area.

Hold 40 seats out of the 400 in the Alting.
The Brotherhood of Nod
24-07-2004, 09:06
There are no political parties. There is the Brotherhood, and nothing but the Brotherhood.
Kraknokistan
24-07-2004, 09:17
Kraknokistan has three main parties: Imperial, Liberal, and Conservative. There is also a small assortment of "fourth parties". Campaign contributions are outlawed in Kraknokistan. Instead, the government conducts an official poll every two years. The percentage of public support each party recieves in the poll determines the amount of funds that will be given to it by the government. Each party has a "Party Council" headed by a "Party Chair". The Party Council decides the party platform, how to allocate funds, etc. Noone on the Party Councils may be a member of Parliament. The Emperor is traditionally also Party Chair of the Imperial Party.

The Major Parties

Imperial Party:
Moderate platform
Public support in most recent government poll: 31%

Liberal Party:
Center-left platform
Public support in most recent government poll: 29%

Conservative Party:
Center-right platform
Public support in most recent government poll: 27%

Fourth Parties

United Socialists Party:
Far-left socialist platform
Public support in most recent government poll: 0.06% (Surprisingly high)

Earth Party:
Pro-environment platform
Public support in most recent government poll: 2.3%

Moral Conservatives Party:
Far-right platform
Public support in most recent government poll: 4.6%

Progressive Reformers Party:
Left-wing platform
Public support in most recent government poll: 7%

Immortal Party:
Authoritarian platform
Public support in most recent government poll: Too small to be included.

The Progressive Reformers and Moral Conservatives Parties are both breakaways from the (respectively) Liberal and Conservative Parties. They broke away because they felt their current party was too moderate and either didn't want to go to some of the more extreme alternative parties (as in the case of the Progressive Reformers, who didn't want to join the United Socialists) or didn't have another party to potentially join (as in the case of the Moral Conservatives).
The Immortal Party is a revival of the outlawed Sumar Party. They share many of the same positions (Extreme authoritarianism, official statewide religion worshipping deceased dictator Sumar al-Zirquq) and simply do not take sides on issues the Sumar Party supported (like the issue that got it outlawed, support of genocide and ethnic cleansing).
