The Spring Ball

Thelas
04-05-2004, 12:55
Empress Ithenril walked through the large ball room, to one side refreshments were prepared, punches, non-alcoholic drinks, alcoholic drinks, snacks, and other such treats. Chefs were busy in the back rooms preparing to make the main dishes, meats, vegetarian courses, and enough salads to feed an army. In another large room, tables were being set up, chairs stacked, and candles prepared, all for the spring celebrations.

As Ithenril walked, Kentherin was busy directing the whirl-wind of servants, and cooks, “Kentherin, how is everything?” The young Force Commander was looking somewhat stunned, “Cross a Typhoon with a Tsunami and you will have something close….” “Point taken. I am off to write the invitations…”

Mephet'ran was actually the first to arrive in Thelas, he had means of getting there at absurd speed, courtesy of the hundreds of millions of Thelasi members of his church. He was however delayed for several hours by the large crowds of said worshippers who had managed to learn of the ball and suspected he would be there. It was a little like the reaction to a famous rock-star, but to the Nth power.

He also waited to pick up the current incumbent of 'high priestess' in Thelas, a tall elf-woman by the name of Isharnil, dressed in a long white and cream gown, a sort of panelled affair, with various silver jewellery inlaid with diamonds. She herself seemed quite happy to be there.

The Emperor himself was dressed similarly, in a long and elaborate robe of shimmering white, reflecting an entire spectrum of colours wherever the light caught it, and decorated with various gold highlights. He was moderately tall, for a human, which he appeared to be, and currently sporting long brown hair, tied back with a clasp in the form of a stylised heraldic raven.

Also with him was another female elf, in robes that matched his own, though she wore her long dark hair loose, with the exception of an elaborate braiding pattern she usually wore. Officially she was the Imperial ambassador to Menelmacar, and one of the most fantastically rich elves in the nation. Unofficially she was the Emperor’s alternate avatar used most often when communicating with elves.

With him were two others, his long time right-hand man, one Klaus de Vere, head of the Internal Security Agency, for about two centuries, still looking about fifty, and even that was an affectation, like the very conservative suit he wore and the C’tan phase sword, a long rapier like thing, he had sheathed at his hip. Alongside him was a midsize woman, with cherry blonde hair cut short at the top of her neck, and somewhat inscrutable blue eyes, dressed in a glossy black gown.

Sean Connolly leaned back in his chair, well, the chair he was sitting in at least. The zepline he now commanded was, just ten minutes ago, an official mail deliver Zepplin for the Empire States. However, it was now his, and his own zeplin, The Devil's Own floated silently near by. On the top of the mail zep was the runway where his aircraft was parked.

He flipped through the mail, looking for any thing that had money attacthed in some way, shape, or form, money. After all, there was nothing like the life of an air pirate. And then, he came across a rather fancy looking envelope.

He grabbed a knife, and used it as a letter opener, and removed the letter, an invitation. He read over it quickly, and then looked out the window towards The Devil's Own. He grabbed a radio, and spoke into it quickly. "Hey, Mike, get my tux ready, were goin to a party!"

He ran out of the room, and towards the stairwell, towards the runway where his small fighter was ready to go. He would of course, be attending this party as a, representative, of the Empire States.

Ministers Keltern and Drousdibble were members of the vast governing beurocracy of Slutbum Wallah. They were established and respected members of the Diplomatic Corp, and in theory reported to Ambassador General Butah himself. Yet for reasons they did not understand they worked in an eight by eight by eight concrete box with one grilled window and twenty or so pipes running along the walls. Their mission whether they chose to accept it or not, was to shuffle paper till retirement.

Keltern consulted another sheaf of documents with a wry smile, "Thelas have flipped again."

Drousdibble looked up, "Hm?"

"Notify the department bookies. Thelas like us again. They flip every month or so," he explained, "Since we don't know them very well, all we get is form letters. One month, they declare all humans are scum and we will be shot as soon as they enter the border, the next letter they offer to let us come visit for a bit. We haven't had one explanation in the last eighty years so we've started taking bets on when the next letter will arrive."

"Made any money?"

"Five hundred Tollars so far. I must send them a thank-you note some time."

sabella sat in front of her desk, bored. Mathematics just was not her strong suit. She broke the tip of her pencil and sighed. Really, if I am supposed to be a princess why do I need to learn all this? She placed her head on her hand. Her soft brown eyes widened as finally the numbers made sense. She finished the problem and her pale red, soft lips curved upwards in a smile. “All done.” Her voice echoed in the room and she laughed. The birds outside sang with her voice. There was a soft, but determined knock on the door and then a rush of cool air struck her golden, round face. She glanced up to see one of their main servants. I wonder what he wants.

He cleared his throat. “Isabella. I have some good news for you. There is a ball we want you to attend. Now, just wait and listen before you have anything to say. Your father thinks it will be a great opportunity to put forth what you have learned and to experience things outside our world. Also, it will be a possibility to create outside ties to other nations and we need that.”

Isabella didn’t say anything. What could she say? Once her father made a choice, well, she had to do it. It shouldn’t be that bad. She looked up.

“Okay, I will do it.”

“What? I mean, of course, I will give word to your father.”

Isabella’s maids packed and helped her get ready for the trip. Isabella also wrote a letter to the nation throwing the ball.

To the Empress of Ithenril nos Galadriel,
I, Lady Isabella of AmandaTheGreat, write to let your attendants know of my coming. Our nation thanks you for the invitation and the opportunity to attend such an event. We will inform you that we are pacifists and will not be caring any weapons, unless lipstick is considered one. I, personally look forward to meeting you, until our meeting.
~Lady Isabella

With the telegram sent Isabella was on her way to the ball. Her nerves seemed to be butterflies in her stomach and they would not settle down. She walked up to the door. Some of her personal servants followed with her necessities. She paused before she knocked on the door. The door would open to find a young woman standing there in a sleek, shiny black dress. The dress connected to her curves without appearing too tight. The dark colour accentuated her golden skin complexion and her dark hair. She wore it down, straight and silky. She wore a smile, one of nervousness and excitement.

Isabel sorted through the government officials' mail, mostly mail from civilians protesting the Grand Moss's regime, and she came upon a highly decorated envelope addressed to Aleksandr III, Grand Moss. She sent the mail over to the Grand Moss's palace where he received the mail from one of her messengers.

"Hmm, wonder what this is about."

Aleksandr handed the message to one of his guards, who carefully opened the mail in another room to make sure it was not lined with anthrax or hooked up to explosives. The mail was safe.

"Here, Your Regency. The mail is fine."

The guard, rolling his eyes, walked back to his post guarding the door to Aleksandr's royal quarters. Aleksandr read the message.

"A party. Hmm. Grand Moss two weeks and already receiving invitations."

Aleksandr was thrilled at this invitation, and he would use it as his first international appearance as the new Grand Moss, heir to Sergei IV, his late father.

He dictated a message over the phone to Isabel, whose office was located in the Jade Building, the government facility of Mosstania. Isabel typed up the letter Dear Empress Ithenril of Thelas,

I would be delighted to attend your spring ball. It would please me to attend in such a wonderful location. I look forward to the ball. I am glad i have received such an invitation, as it is a wonderful oppurtunity for me to strengthen foreign relations, which, since my father's assassination, have been somewhat lacking. I sincerely await the gala and will certainly be there.

Sincerely,
Aleksandr Moss III
Grand Moss
Empire of Mosstania

Isabel printed the letter, and put the reply into a forest green envelope with the Mosstanian coat of arms printed on it, an insignia signifying a letter from the Mosstanian government. Isabel sealed the message and had it sent back to Thelas.

***Ruschic Capital: Melakko -- Leadership Tower***

Mietger Milan sighed as his eyes scanned the horendous walls of paper on his desk at a height comparable to that of the tower he sat in. This was repulsive. Here he was, leader of a nation that had never even been at war, despite a few internal disputes, and he literally had paper coming out the posterior. Mietger no longer particularly enjoyed being in charge of Ruschi, as it had by now grown so unreasonably large that he really considered installing co-leaders to ease some of the stress off his end of things. At least he could count on folks like Defense Minister Hal Allen to help with things -- Sometimes, anyway.

"Sovereign," Allen stated as he approached the desk where Ruschi's leader sat, "Thelas has issued an invitation for world leaders to attend--"

"Who in the name of God is Thelas?" Mietger Milan interrupted unpleasantly.

Allen hesitated, then cleared his throat. "Thelas... The, uh... nation."

"Oh," Mietger responded after a moment, "yes, the nation, I know. What do they want?"

"They have issued an invitation to world leaders." Allen held up the written invitation itself, having gotten ahold of it from the underpaid mail monkeys downstairs. "I've given it some thought, and it would most likely be wise for us to attend."

"Yes, I suppose." It went without saying that Ruschi had been out of the world scene for an extended period of time, and both of them knew quite well that such an event could propel them back into the world stage. "Are they trustworthy?"

"It depends," Allen murmured, "on who you happen to be. I don't believe there's any threat to us or our reputation, so it couldn't hurt."

Mietger bit his lip, and examined the mass amount of paperwork on his desk. "As much as I'd like to bring us back from obscurity, considering we didn't even get into any of the racing leagues while our national pasttime is motor racing, for Pete's sake, I'm simply far too busy to attend. I do, however, have a better idea. A backup plan, if you will."

Allen again hesitated, hoping his leader wouldn't recommend anything not terribly bright. "Oh? How would that be?"

"Send Maksimilian." Mietger smiled.

Maksimilian Milan, the lone son of Rushic leader Mietger Milan, was currently in charge of the nation's monumental Air Force. Despite being the aerial fleet's commander-in-chief, he flew the standard Ruschic MiG-29 or Su-27 regularly with his fellow pilots, but with the lack of interest in the nation lately, he hadn't had much to do besides daily training. It admittedly would be good for him to go out and have some fun -- Preferably without making Ruschi look bad, but Maksimilian was mature for his tender age of 19. He wouldn't do anything remotely foolish.

"But what if he has work to do too?" Allen questioned, not entirely keen on the idea.

"He'll be fine. Inform him of the event and have him fly to Thelas tomorrow."

Allen sighed. "Yes-sir."

******

To the nation of Thelas, in response to your honorable invitation –

I am pleased at your grateful invitation and thank you to the deepest ends. This letter is to inform you that while I, Mietger Ritger Milan, am unable to attend personally, in my place I am sending my valued pride and joy – My son, Maksimilian Lutiger Milan. I apologize that I will not be able to attend personally. I send my highest regrets, but wish you warmth and entertainment at your event.

Sincerely
Sovereign Mietger Milan

To my dearest comrades of Thelas –

I am sincerely honored to attend your event as representative for the Ruschic Principality. My father again sends his dearest regrets that he cannot attend personally, but I promise to show you the same gratitude he would. This letter is to inform you that I will be arriving via Air Force accompaniment, and we will immediately request permission to enter your airspace on arrival as to not cause unnecessary turmoil. Thank you once again, and I eagerly await the event.

A letter was sent to the Thelasi stating that Prime Minister Galadriël would unfortunately be unavailliable, but that a replacement representative would be sent from the autonomous state of Netox ((OOC: my little brother)).

The letter assured the Thelasi that this personal abstention was not meant as an insult in any way, and that the Knootian government still celebrates good relations. It also indicated hope that this would be an opportunity for the leaders of the Netox experiment to strenghten ties with the international community.

08-05-2004, 20:25
The two MiG-29s followed on after the lone Su-27, all three a sleek green hue (as almost everything partnered with Ruschi’s government & military was green) and carrying the Ruschic emblem, as they began to near the Thelasi airspace. Racing along at just over mach one, the jet fighters, while lethal, had no intentions to create the usual havoc brought about by such pieces of weaponry. Instead, they sought to peacefully arrive on one of Thelas’ airbases, hopefully without being taken for enemies at first. Hence, the reason for the early “entering airspace” alert that the pilot seated in the Su-27 had issued to the nation.

Maksimilian Milan scanned the horizon under the oxygen mask and large, dark visor in the Sukhoi-craft’s cockpit. He had needed to place his small amount of luggage into a compact compartment in the aircraft’s cockpit, but having to do that was better than having his father force him into a Presidential plane and fly him out there by those means. Maksimilian was a capable fighter pilot, and an exceptional pilot alone. He didn’t need other people to do his flying for him – That would be simply illogical.

“Thirty miles out from Thelas,” he stated to his fellow pilots in the native Ruschic language of Russian. “Keep your eyes open.”

“Yes-sir.”

It wouldn’t take long. With the speed the fighters were travelling, they could cover such a distance in little to no time at all. Granted, they’d of course needed a quick pit stop on the Ruschic aircraft carrier “Gallows” in order to refuel, as they would never have been able to make the trip from Ruschi to Thelas in one flight. Besides, the MiGs weren’t going to be landing with Maksimilian. They would simply turn around and head back to the “Gallows.”

Eventually, Thelas was obvious. Maksimilian hurriedly notified the nation's closest forces of their arrival, and provided that all went well, the small escort would continue on towards the nearest airbase. Maksimilian would be glad to get out of the fighter. Such confrontations in situations like that made him uncomfortable. The three Ruschic fighters were certainly all equipped to defend themselves, but only with air-to-air weaponry. If Thelas got itchy and decided to take them out from the ground, they would have little choice but to run. That wasn’t exactly an inevitable scenario, though, so Maksimilian didn’t let it get to him.

Still, it gave him one more thing to worry about, and he questioned why his father had even made him come out here in the first place. By God, if the old man wanted to bring Ruschi out of obscurity, why didn’t he enter the soccer leagues, or the racing leagues and whatnot?

They would reach their target soon enough. The Thelasi airbase came into view, and while it took some time, Maksimilian eventually set himself up properly to make his landing on the runway – After clearing out all the details with the base’s officials, of course. Couldn’t take any chances, after all. The green Su-27 set down cleanly, swiftly on the runway, and as this occurred, the remaining two MiG-29s would both begin to make wide circles around the base to make sure everything went off according as planned. Once again – Better safe than sorry. Maksimilian was unconciously very glad they were there to keep an eye on him, at least for a little while.

After stopping, about seven minutes later, he had made all the necessary precautions to make sure the aircraft was entirely powered down, along with unhooking himself from the cockpit seat. Opening the compact compartment, he fished out his little luggage that contained the majority of necessary items for the trip, the canopy finally began sliding back, and moments later, he found himself standing on the tarmac.

Maksimilian hesitated a moment, looking for whoever might be there to greet him. What bothered him more at the moment, though, was what they were going to do with his Su-27. He’d never readily admit this, though. Might as well get this over with.

ooc: I take it that you were so nice as to tell where exactly the World Ship was so we could go there.

ic: A Space Port in Taurenor.

The space port was a large complex with airstrips for normal aircraft. It was a strange sight to see how the thick old forest suddenly ended at the perimeter of the space port. It wasn't really busy at all, just a few planes landing and taking off, but not nearly as much as would be expected for such a large space port.
Taurevanimë walked over the leaf carpet that had been laid out towards her ship, with many people on either side of it saying goodbye. There really was a lot of attention for this as it would be Taurevanimë's first trip outside of Taurenor after their coming into the world, and everyone was anxious. And with a last wave to her people Taurevanimë entered the ship with the door closing behind her.
A few minutes later the engines powered up and a deep rumbling sound could be heard, though it wasn't loud at all. Gently the 300 meter large ship got off the ground and started it's ascend towards space, having plot it's course towards the Thelasi World Ship.

Taurevanimë's Room inside Culiël.

Taurevanimë walked into her room and smiled at Urion and Nyellon who were waiting for her in a pair of seats. "Hello Urion. Hello Nyellon." She said and sat down in her own seat and grabbed a glass of water that stood ready and drank from it. "And Nyellon, anxious about your first trip into space?" She asked. "Oh yes, very much. Thank you again for letting me come with you." The elf said and bowed his head towards her, making Taurevanimë smile and look at Urion. "Well I heard from your father you always wanted to go into space. And since you got such excellent manners, I din't object to your fathers proposal of taking you with me. I just hope for you that the Thelasi and their guests have a good taste in music." She said, causing Urion the chuckle lightly.

Near the World Ship.

The ship slowly approached the World Ship and toke position a few kilometers away from it, staying in a fixed formation as it launched a single shuttle with a wing of fighters escorting them.
"This is Taurenor shuttle minë, requesting clearence to dock with Thelasi World Ship in accordance with the Spring Ball. I repeat. This is Taurenor..." was the message send to the World Ship as the shuttle with escort slowly approached the large craft.

IC: Sorting through the day's international mail, the Prime Minister's Secretary notices an invitation from Thelas to their Spring Ball. The secretary, comparing schedules, notices that the date coincides with the Ministerial Reception, but forwards the letter to the PM for his decision on the matter. Shortly, a call comes from his office.

"Brenda, please inform the Thelasi that, while I will be unable to attend, I relish the chance to establish friendly foreign relations with Thelas, and we will be sending one of our top ambassadors to their Ball. Also, please contact Ambassador Savetrion and inform him that he will be departing for Thelas's ball."

"Right away, sir."

Later...

Savetrion boards a Teatroian air shuttle to go to Thelas, making sure he knows who his hosts will be and preparing himself for the coming diplomatic duties.

As the shuttle apporaches the Thelasi WorldShip, the pilot communicates with Thelas Air Control.

"This is Teatroian Shuttle DC-010 Falkari, requesting permission to enter Thelasi airspace. We are bringing our Foreign Minister to your Spring Ball. Awaiting further instructions."

IC:

As the Migs landed at the airbase they noticed several things, one, nothing had wheels, well, almost nothing, two, the fighters were all VTOL, thirdly, dropships seemed to be flying from space, landing, and then being serviced, while the skin of the ship should still be hot enough to melt steel.

Another thing that was noticeable from the ground or air, were the massive objects in orbit, large enough to be visible from the ground. There were twelve smaller objects that were slightly larger and brighter than stars, and then there was one larger object, the world-ship, that looked somewhat like a small, perfectly round, metallic, asteroid.

Four soldiers stepped forward, they were wearing full combat armor, standard for the Thelasi, with the only part of them that was not covered in armor was their hair with came out under the back of the helmet, "Mister Milan, I am Sergeant Amorin and me and my men will be leading you up to the World-Ship"

*****************************

As the Taurenori shuttle came closer in, they noticed that the fleets seemed to be surrounding the world-ship in a sphere. At the center of each fleet was a Dagor El class ship, larger than any other Thelasi combat ship, excluding the massive transports used for invasions and supply missions, they stood out against the starry back ground.

When the Taurenori ships began to broadcast their message, twelve Thelasi Mark Zero fighters entered formation around them, "This is Thelasi escort group TMF-746 (Thelasi Military Fighter-assigned to fleet 7, part of wing 4, squadron 6), we greet Empress Taurevanime and her delegation and welcome them to Thelas, please follow us into docking bay Five"

It was rare for such an invitation to arrive in the Great Hall, and Shado was somewhat taken aback.

"You mean these people have actually INVITED me?! Do they not know our reputation? We're barbaric, nomadic, ruthless, angry..."

When the Emperor of the C’tan arrived, he was also greeted by a phalanx of soldiers. The guards were quite unnecessary, but it was tradition. The C’tan delegation was quickly brought into the ball room, where Ithenril, Kentherin and many other Thelasi (including shadowed figures, nearly invisible in the ring of shadows that surrounded the room) were waiting.

As soon as he entered they bowed, more in the Japanese style of greeting. Ithenril spoke first, “Emperor Mephet’ran, a pleasure that you could attend”

***********************************

The Thelasi envoy is more of a group of startled marines, who had not been expecting a delegation in a military docking bay. Within minutes, a group of Morchant Tirith moved forward, their commander greeting the Emperor, the soldiers voice as feminine, but the inflection was nearly unnoticeable through the microphone/speaker inside her helmet “Welcome to Thelas milord, I am Sergeant Nacisa, myself and my men will be your guides to the ball, I trust you have no weapons? If you do, you may leave them with my men, they will be returned upon your departure, as in the invitations, ceremonial swords are allowed, power-swords are not”

"We're arriving, My Lady. We can be in Thelas in fifteen minutes", said the flying officer, quite nervous as he bowed in front of the Everqueen.

"Did the rest of the guests already arrived?", asked Aelosia, dressed in a wonderful dress made with mithrilized fabric, the silvery shine of the outfit gleaming all over the hall in the Royal Shuttle.

"No, Your Highness, they're still waiting for the Elentári", answered the officer without daring to look at the queen to the eyes.

"Then we will wait. We're still arriving early. In diplomatic etiquette, you must learn to arrive fashionably late if you want to be noted. Lady Sirithil knows it, and I know it too", said the queen with a wry grin in the edge of her lips.

Maksimilian smiled pleasantly above his discomfort at the sight of the soldiers approaching rapidly. For a moment, he couldn’t help but wonder if he were in any sort of danger from their approach, but it only took a moment for him to discover they were his new escort. Maksimilian took a glance towards the sky, watching his two partners, the Ruschic MiG-29s, change their courses away from the airbase, and he turned back to the troops, putting up his best fake smile. “Thank you.”

With that, he followed on after the lot of them, silently wondering when he’d be able to change his clothing. He certainly couldn’t attend the event in his flight suit. Oh well – He’d get a chance to change into the uniform before the Spring Ball anyway.

As he walked, his mind tried to concentrate on the task at hand, but his imagination kept warping over to who else would be attending the event. While he was pleasant enough to be around, Maksimilian was almost shy to an extent, and he prayed he wouldn’t feel out of place among the rest of the nation representatives when the event began. Yes, that would be a great first impression among the guests and hosts – Stand around holding his military cap under one arm, a glass of water (as Maksimilian didn’t drink anything else, unless he had to), while waiting all day to muster up the courage to talk to someone only to do so with thirty seconds left in the event. He sighed openly, realizing this might not be as pleasant as he’d been anticipating at first.

When he reached the launch pad, Shado reined his horse in and stopped. He hadn't read the letter well enough before to realise he wouldn't be able tro ride there, and he so hated technology...

Sighing, he gave his reins to an attendant, and stepped aboard the craft, throwing out his black cape behind him. He wouldn't need it in space, and besides, he had been wanting to show off the ceremonial armour for years now. Gleaming in the cockpit lights as he started the countdown, Shado's armour was made of the finest mithril, and the ceremonial sword hanging by his side was of the same material. He was greatly proud of the sword, having forged it in the old methods with his own bare hands. The armour he had watched being forged, made as it was by his father for his father's use... Shado paused for thought as the computer began to count down. Feeling down to his heart, he found the hole his own mithril sword had pierced, and a tear formed in the corner of his eye. Wiping it away, Shado sighed. What he had done was for his people, and he had had no choice. It had been him or his father, and it was an honourable death, though looking back on the evil things his father had done, perhaps he had not deserved such a favourable fate. Shaking his head and reminding himself to concentrate on the matters at hand, Shado pushed the button, and the ship launched, hurtling into the void towards Thelas.

OOC:Shado is looking to reclaim some of the honour lost by his father in the eyes of many other nations, and therefore to make some new friends (or enemies!), so anyone is welcome to talk to him. If no-one does...well, he won't be too surprised.

Also in attendance was another ‘elf’ in robes like Mephet’ran’s, but in iridescent blacks and with blood red trim. He was a tall dark haired sindarin-impersonator.

His dark eyes were a little disturbing if one looked into them for too long, unless one had the most iron resolve. His name was Asirnoth, the chief lieutenant of Mephet’ran and supreme commander of the necron fleet, a figure of primal terror to the Keigh, whom he had once forced to within a hair’s breadth of oblivion, known as the Void-Dragon, a title which he gloried in. He too wore a weapon, a sword, though it was purely ceremonial. It was made of the material known as living metal, the highest grade of it, and glowed faintly with bound starlight, even through the scabbard.

Asirnoth’s robes were bound at the top by a clasp of silver, resembling a great wyrm curled around a sphere of lapis-lazuli in the pattern of a watery world, with green continents of jade and poles of snow quartz delicately added to it. Each of the four jade continents was riven by a set of the wyrm’s claws.

He had been told, ordered, to find someone here. Normally he would resent this, but for once, his curiosity had been aroused, and he was prepared, eager even, to find that person.

-----

Mephet’ran smiled, though he did not return the bow, “The pleasure is all mine,” he said, “it is an honour to see the vessel you have built on an occasion such as this.”

"My name is Maksimilian Milan," the son of Ruschi's leader said pleasantly, "here as representative for the Ruschic Principality. It's an honor to make your acquaintance. We're heading towards Thelas for the Spring Ball now, so please accompany us, won't you?"

Finally, tired of waiting for the Menelmacari, the royal shuttle of the Sacred Sindarin Empire of Aelosia landed in Thelas, after entering Thelas territorial space and asking for all the right permissions.

Out of the shuttle the Everqueen Aelosia came, followed by her Corps Guard and by almost twenty attendants. A bigger surprise was that the Heir to the Everqueen, the Princess Aliria, was amongst them.

The Queen, dressed in a wonderful golden dress, quite revealing and seductive, with huge openings in her chest and in her back and outstanding jewelry matching the outfit, took the hand of the Princess, just covered by a silvery, conservative dress that resembled the stars in the Craftworld's sky.

"Well, Where is our welcome party?. The Light of the Sindarin has arrived, both myself and my grandaughter are here to celebrate and share our happiness with our brethen", said the Queen, walking with amazing grace, using a really seductive pace to keep most of the looks fixed in her. Aliria just walked at her grandmother's side, still taking her hand, her smile a bright spotlight filled with glamour and joy.

Shado arrived at the landing pads just after the Aelosians, and saw the huge guard accompanying the Elves. Astounded by the grandeur of the situation, he walked in, in an almost dream-like state. Standing by a wall, Shado could do nothing but gaze upon the beauty surrounding him, making him feel almost ashamed to be wearing his ceremonial armour with the gaping holes at his heart both in the front and back.

As, ((skipping ahead a little here perhaps)) the Aelosians entered the room, the C’tan delegation took notice of them.

After, rather politely excusing himself for a while, and leaving Ilene with Ithenril for a moment, Mephet’ran turned, and walked over, with Feaelen and Asirnoth on either side of him, one step behind, and the other two one step behind them.

The Dragon regarded Aelosia curiously. She was… exceptionally beautiful, as all elves over a certain age became, as far as C’tan were concerned. While he wasn’t particularly bothered by it, the dress was, pleasing enough. She did seem to be worthwhile after all. At first glance.

The party approached the elves, and Mephet’ran smiled, bowing slightly to the queen, very slightly – more a nod of the head, “It is a pleasure to see you again your majesty,” he said, smiling, “may I say that you look absolutely splendid this evening, indeed, as ever, your majesty.”

Aelosia raises her chin a little in a defiant manner, looking her surroundings, before making a complicate and elaborate bow to Mephet'ran, arching her back. The rest of the Aelosian delegation, forced by etiquette to bow lower than the Queen, almost touched the ground with their heads, including Aliria that looked around for a while before bowing too, after smiling a little to the C'tan lord.

"The pleasure is mine, Istari, Savior of the Everqueen. Your presence fills this place with the awesome show of your power and might", said the Everqueen as she rose, staring directly at Mephet'ran, taking just a second to regard both Asirnoth and Feaelen with a nod of her head.

Aliria raises and waves with her hand to Mephet'ran in a very informal way, attracting the attention of the Everqueen that directed her an icy, severe glance. Finally Aelosia turned to Mephet'ran again, offering him her arm. "May I walk alongside you, Stargod?", she asked, noticing for the first time the clasp in Asirnoth's outfit, arching an eyebrow as she detailed the design. "Interesting symbol. What does it means?", she asked to the C'tan, her eyes fixed now in the dark pupils of the Dragon.

The Thelasi welcome party was yet another group of soldiers, this time Morchant Tirith. A Thelasi officer, dressed in silver banded uniform of a Thelasi Force Commander, “Welcome to Thelas, Queen Aelosia, Lady Aliria. If you will please follow me we will lead you to Empress Ithenril.

The soldiers quickly lead them through the Worldship, onto the grav-trains that run through the entire facility. As the move through, civilians and military personnel either get out of their way, salute, or bow. They reach the Grav-Trains quickly, and are lead aboard by the soldiers.

As they travel, the commander starts talking, “You see, this entire station was constructed by the Thelasi, each and every part, down to the last bolt, is Thelasi made, mostly by Anera Corporation, ironically, with money made in foreign nations. The base can house the Thelasi people, independently from any outside help. Food is supplied from the station, and from massive hydroponic barges in the civilian fleet that always surrounds the base. Among them are more manufacturing plants, supplementary to the bases on this station. Also there are more population housing bases in the surrounding fleet.

This base can also house all twelve of the fleets, with room for three more full fleets.”

***********************************

The other diplomats were lead to a Thelasi landing pad, where a shuttle took them to the main ship, while moving, their guide noted, “If any of you have a question, feel free to ask.”

************************************

Ithenril smiled, “Thank you Lord Mephet’ran, this craft is one of the marvels of Thelasi engineering. It is a pleasure to be able to show you around… speaking of showing you, we have a trail set up to show the new Thelasi Dagor El class battleship”

Mepher’ran shot Aliria a brief grin, and subtly waved back, speaking to Aelosia as he did so, “I thank you for your compliment, and assure you that any effects filling this place must also be attributed to your own remarkable sindarin glory,” he said. Fëaelen nodded at the same time, as did Asirnoth, after a brief pause.

“You are most welcome to accompany me, your majesty, and may I introduce my brother, as it were, Asirnoth.” He extended his hand to the other yngir, while taking Aelosia’s arm, “Prince Asirnoth, Supreme Commander of the fleet,” he moved his hand a little, as the other bowed, in a similar manner to the way Aelosia bowed, “Aelosia, Everqueen of the Sindarin Empire, Light of the Sindar.”

Asirnoth smiled, “It’s a little play on a name I aquired from our mutual ‘friends’ the Keigh,” he spat the term out, and his pronunciation of ‘friends’ was singularly sarcastic, “Specifically, the call me the ‘Void Dragon,’ Thus, the symbol is of a space borne wyrm attacking a world, the outline is of the continents of the original Keigh homeworld.”

As he explained this, Mephet’ran was distracting Aliria by introducing her to de Vere, whom he mentioned preferred to be called Paul, another of the man’s little eccentricities, over his given name. The – seemingly – old spymaster bowed in a similar manner to the Sindarin Heir, and smiled a little.

***

As Mephet’ran made his excuses and left, the woman who he had remain behind nodded to Ithenril, “I am most certain that the Emperor would be delighted to examine your warships. Asirnoth too I imagine, and perhaps you could also invite the Sindarin?” she said, gesturing toward the Aelosians.

With a bloom of crimson light, the Menelmacari destroyer Gilthoniel, the personal transport of Lady Sirithil, emerged from her tesseract near the World Ship. The great vessel, three hundred seventy-five meters in length, resplendent in void-black and sun-gold and blood-red, sleek, elegant, dangerous yet regal, passed low over the docking facility in a maneuver clearly designed to impress, and give people a fine view of the ship. After clearing her arrival with the local port authorities, Gilthoniel approached the nearest open dock suitable for a ship of her size.

The Thelasi invite took literally days to filter through the cumbersome Sketchian bureaucratic machine. Each department had its own evaluation, their own analysis, a report, and other similarily useless documents to attach to the invitation. By the time it came to the appropriate destination, the deparment of foreign relations, it was a several folders large mess, covered with stickies and looseleaf. The secretarial staff just sighed. It was their job to find the original copy and give a brief report to the boss. There hasn't been any real Sketchian foreign relations work for the longest time, not since the department of allied relations was formed. As the secretaries browsed through the mountain of papers, they found all sorts of references to names, nations, religions and other unusal items. A cry of victory was heard issuing from the corner office, like a lottery, one of the secretaries found the original document. Some quick shuffling later, all were gathered around her desk. Looks like some sort of party invitation/Yeah, in a form letter format/Shows how much they care/Maybe that explains all the other nation files we see/Yeah! like the elf names that keep turning up/Well, lets go write that report.

The report was brief; it had the letter, a long list of expected participants and a note from one of the obscure departments: Attendance is strongly reccomended. Excellent opportunity to build Sketchian relations.

Another few days later, a directive floated down to the diplocorps. Agents were called up and briefed. Bascially, they were going to a grand ball, or as the secretaries put it - a great big party. Four class A1 veteren diplocorps agents were chosen. Each was experienced in foreign relations dealings, each was capable of making what some nations would call "policey changing decisions", and all were bestowed with impressive sounding names and equally impressive (and equally useless) governmental titles. Their job: to make contact and establish new relations.

It was an unusual group - a distinguished looking, elderly gentleman, a fine, upstanding youth barely past his twenties, a ravishing lady in red, and a gruff ex-military looking type. The mission director looked his team up and down. That should do it. I think we have all the likely preferences covered. Go do your work. With that, the team boarded their shuttle and headed to the party, undoubtable quite unfashionable late. Maybe no one would notice.

Aliria smiled at De Vere, and bowed to him in a delicate yet respectful manner, when suddenly the Kentherin's words of greeting made her face change into a mix of surprise and sadness. "He's, well...he's kind of busy now. He must attend some business back in the Craftworld", she said, visibly uncomfortable, blushing a little.

Aelosia laughed openly, sharing the gift of the magical sound of her laugh with those present. "You're charming, Asirnoth, really charming", she said after she finished laughing, her smile a bright light dedicated entirely to Asirnoth. "I suppose now the VoidStalkers are afraid of the VoidDragon. I like the term, the symbol and the reasons that created both". Finally, she turned to face Ithenril, her features showing a bored look. "Yes, whatever you have prepared, Lady Ithenril. I suppose I can take a look at your little toy for a while, I hope that visit won't be too long", she said, using a special wry tone of voice as she spoke.

Then she turned to Mephet'ran and whispered in his ear. "Can I enjoy the company of Asirnoth meanwhile the visit to the Thelasi ship?. I swear I will fall asleep if I don't have something interesting to look at", she said with a mischievously expression.

New ArAreBee would be most happy to attend such a gathering, and our newly elected Relations Officer, Vandir Chaug'nir shall be present.

---

"So you won't be sending security detail then?" queried the worried Relations Officer.

The alien considered this for a moment. The crimson jumpsuit of an ArAreBeen Director shined and made rather irritating rubbing noises as it rubbed against the plastic.

"No, I don't think so. Don't worry, we already have a replacement lined up. These parties always have terrorist bombings, don't worry no leaders get harmed, usually. I hope my humor has made you feel better, human. Ahahaha." The laugh reminded him of the sound Magnetic Aeromotos made as they flew around the airlanes, following the complex magnetic fields generated by the metals and power plants in the Domes. Or was it some clever manipulation of the Casimir Effect? Didn't matter anyway. The sound was ludicrously annoying.

Being a figurehead was harder then it looked.
---

Space-time curved along the gravitational fields as eight, ninth, and tenth dimensions met as the great lens of the Manifold Window magnified the Planck chaos of the vacuum that existed throughout the universe. Various shadow dimensii collided and merged as topofolds twisted on top of each other. All in all this generated queer (not homosexual) black sphere, within which resided a crimson pyramid. This pyramid moved out of the sphere, which curiously absorbed all light except for that which hit the vessel. It chugged along the fabric of reality as exotic matter gained mass along the accelerators that lined the spacecraft.

Its decent into the atmosphere was rather uneventful as it glided into the Thelasii Spaceport. It promptly hailed, and after proper adjustment of the antigravity manifolds, landed. After this, as expected, the Relations Officer was let out of the Crimson Vessel, briefcase in hand, and was left to his devices.

Suddenly and unannounced, a huge gravship arrived at the World ship, sending out a message identifying them. The ship was dark, almost black metal. It was clearly not of human design, nor was it made by the Noldo.

A large shuttle left the giant flight bays of the ship and swooped in towards the worldship. It's elegant design showed it was clearly of elven design. The shuttle arrived shortly in a hangar, and its passengers departed and headed towards the ball.

The world ship
A content of elven marines walked ahead of two royally dressed figures. They were, of course, High Queen Azura nos Eol and Underking Saeros. Azura had on one of her usually elegant gowns. Saeros was dressed in black robes (imagine Darth Maul's). With the star of Bajon embroidered on the back. They both wore thier ceremonial crowns. Azura's was more of a tiara, while Saeros' could best be described as a jeweled metal headband.

The walked amongst their guard, dressed in white robes, exactly like Saeros', with the star on a band on thier sleeves instead. The group walked by delegates gathered outside the ballroom. They gave off a royal, untouchable aura around them as they walked into the room. Saeros nodded slightly to a few of the people he knew from various dealings and negotiations. As they entered the massive ballroom, the guards left them, save for Azura's personal servant/guard.

Azura looked around for anyone she knew well, as did Saeros. Azura decided to go and meet Ithenril, while Saeros took note of Mephet'ran and went to go speak with him.

Azura found Ithenril talking with a group of people, and once she had a chance, introduced herself. " Eternal greetings from the Avari, Ithenril nos Galadriel. The realm of Bajon bids hello to our old freind Thelas."

Saeros approached Mephet'ran, bowing slightly, and greeted him warmly (Assuming we are done with your visit to Bajon). "Greetings my freind. How are you doing?" Saeros was much more human than Azura, especially in social situations...

OOC: Is it too late for me to join? I've thought against it, as my country may be going to war soon, but then I just decided that Sukothai might need a little "breather" before his country's life is on the line.

IC if I can still join:

Benedict Michael Sukothai, President and First Consul of the Republic of Syskeyia, took exhaled relievingly as his shuttle made its way toward the Thelasi worldship.

His mind spun back to home. What the heck is he doing, the critics said, abandoning the Republic for a brief little night of fun while it stands in mortal peril.

But they were wrong. He knew it. Ever since Morgoth's condmenation of the country, he just as much as anybody else had been working hard to get the mobilization of the reserves and the war preparations (God willing the would not be needed) underway. What he was not doing was abandonment. It was relaxation.

Sukothai did not wear a suit like he usually did; instead, he was clad an a Syskeyian Army soldier's dress uniform. (http://img40.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Syskeyia/sys_army_ike.jpg) His beret was brown, indicating the fact that he had served as an infantryman in the Army. No rank adorned his epualets, as was the Consular tradition; the gold chain sash across his chest marked Sukothai as a Consul of Syskeyia. Only two ribbons adorned Sukothai's uniform: one for the Objectivist campaign, the other a Knight's Cross awarded for valor.

As this was a peaceful engagement, Sukothai declined to carry his personal sidearms with him, but kept them in the shuttle. He did, however, insist on keeping his officer's sword on his person while at the ball. (Unless instructed otherwise, of course).

The calm before the storm, Sukothai thought to himself. Enjoy it while you can, Ben. Enjoy it while you can.

God bless,

Before walking over to her, Savetrion gave himself a quick once over, making sure all his clothes were in order, and not looking shabby. He first made sure that his long overcoat, which was a resplendent forest green and reminiscent of a tux, but all in one piece with a flat cut, wasn't caught in any item of clothing, and wasn't crinkled anywhere. After sorting that out, he make sure his diplomat's pin, which was colored in the Teatroian red, green, and black. He double-checked his polished black shoes for spots, and then smoothed out his meticulously pressed black pants, and his shirt, of a very dark red. Having run through all the little checks, he went over to the Empress to introduce himself.

"My Lady Empress, if I may, I would introduce myself. I am Ambassador Savetrion, of the Federation of Teatroia, here on behalf of our Prime Minister Tarin Deltorre. Mr. Deltorre sends his regrets as he could not be here himself due to a diplomatic event in Teatroia; he does however send his warmest regards and wishes for the health of the Empress.

He nodded slightly, and Fëaelen turned and headed off toward the appropriate landing bay with a little skip in her step, clearly looking forward to meeting up with Sirithil again. Asirnoth nodded, to Aelosia, “ Yes, the Yvressi ones at least.”

As she addressed him Mephet'ran nodded, “Certainly,” he said, removing his arm from hers, as his brother extended his own, to take over, “be gentle with him,” Mephet'ran said, mischievous himself.

He nodded to the Bajoni underking as he came over, “I’m much as ever…”

He was cut off by the emerging catfight between Azura and Taurevanimë, and sighed a little, inwardly wondering how to deal with this.

Ilene felt the typical tingle of mental communication Oh crap, she thought, Well, what is it?

You know, you shouldn’t use that language around Emperors, he replied.

Understood Sir, prompt me.

Acting on quick instructions from Mephet'ran she tapped Ithenril on the shoulder, and whispered, quietly enough that even in a room full of elves, only Ithenril would hear her, “Mephet’ran asks that you try not to escalate this little spat.”

Aelosia took Asirnoth's hand with grace, smiling at Mephet'ran as he did so. I'll be gentle with him, Stargod, you can bet on it, she thought, her eyes fixed in the Dragon's figure.

Although not for long, as the harsh and angered words of the Taurenor queen quickly drew her attention there. She heard the Avari's response, then the reply of the Fingolindrim, and finally laughed out loud, the clean creek of her enchanted laugh running wild through the hall.

"And to think that I thought that the Thelasi were uneducated and clumsy mannered!", she said in an amused, musical tone. "You come here screaming about manners, Queen of Taurenor, when you should know that one of the most basic and elemental rules of manners is to not raise your voice, mostly when you're a queen and you're talking in front of other dignataries, some of them better mannered than you, as I see it", she said, fixing her eyes in Taurevamine's ones for a moment. "Of course that the Fingolindrim have been always too brash and reckless to stop their minds for a second just to think what are they going to say next, or how are they're going to say it" she finished the sentence in a calmed, yet mischievous, tone of voice, a wry smile showing her perfect teeth.

With a gesture of her hand and a melodious nod of her head she turned to the High Queen of Bajon. "And you Avari, I believe the words orc and Warg are a little too rude for such a diplomatic meeting we have here, so I please ask you to not repeat such foul words in my presence. If that's the vocabulary you currently use in your country, then please try to control it in front of more careful people", although her tone of voice was still calmed, soft and musical, a note of defiance and challenge was lying behind every word she spoke. "Of course that I haven't known the first Avari capable of any delicacy, mostly the descendants of Eöl, the Dark Elf. At least in the First Age you were quite accustomed to live under our shadow and to pay heed to our words and advise, when not to our orders. I suppose we're living worse times right now...", she said, finishing her words with a sarcastic grin.

Aliria just stood behind the Queen, covering her eyes with one hand, shaking her head a little as she heard the last of the Everqueen's words. She knew that Aelosia had added enough firewood to the bonfire of animosity between the present elves to let the fire burn for years, and that she would have to make an amazing show of diplomacy to fix what the Queen did in seconds. Amazing capability to spread conflicts. I wonder if she was like that before her imprisoment. At least she didn't resort to direct insults as the other women did. This looks like a pack of wolves, a flock of crows or a gathering of hyenas. Is this the true and real royalty of the Firstborn?. What would our forefathers think if they see us having these petty disputes when the Dark Vala is loose against the universe?. They would revolt in their mounds. If these people is truly the most magnificent eldar left, and our greatest leaders and representatives, then we're truly a dying race indeed, and our best days were left behind, she thought, quickly resuming her regal pose before the Queen could see her, turning to see the rest of the elves in the hall, in her face a lot of disappointment, a bit of shame, and a good mixture of sadness and grief.

Aelosia turned to Asirnoth and bowed to him a little before letting any of the two women speak, and smiled. "At least, you're lucky, dear. To have a charming companion as me for this evening looked difficult with this people hanging around. But don't worry, it seems that you have the best this gathering has to offer. Today's elves are not what they used to be, with some exceptions of course. I'm just eager to meet the Elentári, at least someone who looks to be at my level, and someone who would bring some charm and sanity to this clumsy and dull reunion".

Mephet’ran felt very much like walking over to the nearest wall and smacking his head into it a few times, and probably would have, if it would have done anything but dent the wall. He himself liked all Quendi, if not equally, then at least on a case by case basis. This was most annoying, petty racism that they allowed to fragment them. He himself was not a believer in such things, from his own perspective, the species was almost homogenous, such things meant nothing to him, Avari, Nandor, Noldor, Sindar, Sylvan, and other, less common types the various types of elves didn’t matter to him, they were basically all the same thing in his eyes, all sharing the same good points – and this one infuriating drawback!

He decided that it was perhaps time to deal with this, but he would wait, and see if they would not shut up and get over this infantile behaviour on their own. Asirnoth looked at her and smiled a little, he didn’t much care for this either, but he didn’t really understand their complaints with each other, and so replied, “I’m certain that a companion such as yourself is indeed a rare, and wonderful, joy which I am honoured to have the privilege of, and I cannot doubt that you are indeed the finest possible companion here.

The Elentári? She is, interesting, but I much prefer yourself to her,” he said, quite truthfully, “Though that I suppose comes down to personal taste.” He glanced at Mephet’ran for a moment, and smirked at the other C’tan.

Empress Ithenril wiped the spit from her cheek, stay calm Ithenril… stay calm “I apologize for the lateness of the delegation, I will find out why this happened.”

As the fight started Ithenril turned to the others, “LADIES, please, we are fighting each other more than we are fighting Morgoth, are these truly the actions that the leaders of the Firstborn should undertake? Prompting aggression and war, starting feuds that we all now could last for centuries and end in Kin-Slaying!. Now, I will graciously ask every one to follow me down to the VIP docking bay to greet Sirithil.”

Ithenril turns, obviously expecting the rest of the party to follow.

As Sirithil’s ship landed, groups of Morchant Tirith filled into the docking bay. They formed up on either side of a carpet, leading to the door at the end of the docking bay. When Sirithil and her delegation exited the Glithonel, Ithenril and the rest of the group entered the bay.

Ithenril, bowing, spoke, “Lady Sirithil nos Feanor, Queen of Menelmacar, Queen Protector of the Elves, I welcome you to Thelas and the Edenbar station.

As Sukothai entered the docking bay where his ship had landed, a group of Thelasi guards greeted him, “Sir, welcome to Thelas, please follow us to the observatory room, Empress Ithenril will be there shortly

Taurevanimë wasn't pleased to be insulted yet again by another elf. "That woman should know herself that you don't involve yourself in others troubles. I can't beleive that these are my kin. They act so much like the humans. Trying to incite further fighting without purpose." She spoke softly in Urion's ear. "Don't worry my queen. Eventhough this all started over that gruesome mistake, it seems that Ithenril is the most courtly of them all." He said to her.
Nyellon looked at his aunt with a questioning look and she smiled and nodded. He then walked up to Ithenril. "Excuse me m'lady, but why is Sirithil welcomed with such fanfare?"

Ithenril smiles and whispers, “When dealing with a leader, whose nation, until recently, was not exactly friendly to your nation… I tend to err on the side of caution. Sirithil is a good person to have on your side, and some one that you do not want as an enemy. And lastly, Mephet’ran and Sirithil are very close friends, and seeing as how most Thelasi ships have C’tan given technology in them, it is a good idea to welcome Sirithil with fanfare.”

Ithenril pauses, “You aren’t one of those people who still hates Sirithil because of what her husband did, right?”

[This post, needless to say, happens after Siri's arrival.]

Fëaelen glared a little at the assorted others entering – ‘Is it really necessary to bring everyone and their dog to greet Siri?’ she thought, ‘I mean really now. Bad Ithenril, I shall have to have words with her for that. Anyway, a suitable greeting, may as well do it in necrontyr, then ‘translate’ it, for a laugh. And it gives Siri a chance to use it, no point in having taught it to her otherwise.’

She quietly kneeled down on one leg at the bottom of the ramp – she was technically at Sirithil’s disposal after all.

“Kitarî Thelas ish vahra entel s’h-eeä. S’vrer intar sic tu ya s’h-eeä.” she said, then quietly supplying a rather more formal translation for everyone else present, “May I welcome you to Thelas on their behalf Milady. I am, as ever, at your service Milady.”

For his part, Mephet’ran didn’t bother to follow Ithenril, though Ilene did. Asirnoth and Rale followed their respective Aelosians.

"No we do not hate Sirithil or her husband." Nyellon said, looking a bit shocked to hear someone even suggest such thoughts. "I'm a bard, and was curious why she was greeted with a fanfare and the others weren't." He whispered to Ithenril.

Aelosia nodded to Aliria, a gesture of her head that was both a commanding order and a suggestion, and Aliria quickly nodded back and bowed, taking the arm of the C'tan delegate and leading him to the docking bay. "I'm going to meet the Elentári with you, then once I meet her, I'm going to introduce her to the Everqueen in a proper way. I think my grandmother prefers to be introduced in a more formal, diplomatic way, so she's sending me to gather with Lady Sirithil, as I told her that I already knew her", explained Aliria to her companion.

"I'm not going to meet the Elentári in person, for now", explained instead Aelosia to Asirnoth as they stayed behind, the Everqueen not willing to move an inch. "I'll wait until she meets with my brash grandaughter, as she told me that they were friendly to each other. Then she'll introduce me, as our ancient customs demanded. Although it could be understood like a show of disrespect to lesser beings, a true elf would understand the true meaning of the act, not out of caution, but out of admiration and respect".

"And you have always a lovely compliment to a lovely lady, don't you?", said Aelosia spinning with infinite and incredible grace around Asirnoth, like a dancer courting a possible partner. "But this time, although I respect your statement, and I must say that hearing that pleased me a lot indeed, I can't agree with you. Lady Sirithil nos Fëanor is an elf more ancient than me, and that implies that she's more powerful. I use that argument against the younger weaklings like the Thelasi or the Avari, for example, so it must be applied to me as well. But thanks again for preferring me, and you have win my appreciation saying that"

Vandir nodded thoughtfully as he watched the leaders of state bicker amongst themselves. He had always wondered what, exactly, happened to common courtesy in diplomatic meetings. After carefully watching them he came to the conclusion that democracy was the only form of government because any more results in the leader being reduced to the mind of a well educated ten year old.

He kept this to himself of course, not that he had a choice. The Nerve Repressor installed on his spine blocked any command to move his mouth muscles if the 'wry comment' pattern was detected in his neural waves. He wasn't sure how it worked, and didn't really care for some reason. However, before the possibility of knowing how a Nerve Repressor was suppressed by the Nerve Repressor, he noticed that everyone was ushering off to watch Sirithil exit from her transport.

"Excuse me Lady Ithenril, what exactly have you prepared for us at this ball?" queried Vandir "If I may, perhaps a list of the Master Chefs you've arranged for us, or musicians. Not that it's required."

Standing by Mephet'ran, Saeros laughed to himself and looked to the Ctan Emporer "She's under a bit of stress recently."

Azura calmed herself, but her insides were still boiling. She ignored Aelosia's chastisement and without a glance walked and took Saeros. As she did, she bowed and gave a short greeting to Mephet'ran. Letting the necklace he gave her show briliantly in the light. She smiled and walked towards the entrance with Saeros. "The Elentari is arriving. She will undoubtably be better company than that Taurevanime. Come, we must greet her."

Seeing Siri's gravship go by the window, Azura leaned over to Saeros, "Make sure my Gravship goes by that window, slowly." she smiled. He nodded with a smirk on his face and called in the order. Azura had been waiting for a good oppurtunity to show off her new ships.

The huge battleship/carrier glided around the Thelasi worldship, giving a full broadside view to everyone looking out the window.

Taria's shuttle glided up to the worldship doking bay quietly, a massive ship was giving a flyby
"Foolishness" he though to himself, as the massive ship went by, his own flag was a eclipse, but he had thought it pointless to arrive with such pomp, instead he had opted for his shuttle. The pilots guided the carft into the worldships docking bay, a slight bump as the shuttle settled on the deck. The ramp lowered and Taria stepped down quietly, then found the lady Ithenril in the crowd and walked up to her.
"My lady, it is a great honour to meet you, I look forward to this ball, and hope that not too many of the difficulties of state functions present themselves to you."

Ithenril smiled again, “Ah… Lord Taria, it is a pleasure to meet you, and I think that we may avoid some of the... issues that presented themselves during the last ball.” (I am assuming that Siri joined the crowd.) “Now, I presume that no one would mind me showing off Thelas’ latest warship. As it seems that every one else has been doing the same.” She turns, still smiling.

She leads the group up to and observation deck, where a large Thelasi fleet can be seen through the glass. “Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the battleship TMV Mephet’ran.” Slowly, a large vessel, 1.6 KM long, and around… .8 KM wide) slowly began to move across the field of view of the guests. The warship itself was a deep black color, off of her hull, six long black blades, curving forward, were placed. The tip of each spire a scarlet red. Around her circled Mark II Zero fighters, their black hulls reflecting the glow of the maneuvering lights from the Mephet’ran.

“This ship is a Dagor El class Command Ship. She is both a carrier, and a battleship. Her purpose is to act as the hub of a Thelasi fleet. Now, I cannot give you specifics, but I can tell you, she is designed to destroy ships several time larger than she.” Ithenril smiles to herself, “OF course, this project would never have gotten off of the drawing board with out the help of the C’tan.” She looks back at the ship, “Probably the only ship that could go toe to toe with a Voidstalker and deal significant damage.”

Ithenril turns back to the group, “Now, you must be incredibly bored by this, but excuse me, I am a former Force Commander, and I feel the need to show off my latest developments.” She laughs, “But, before we move back to the ball room, any questions?”

Ithenril smiled at Aelosia, “This ship was designed in part by Thelasi, with some C’tan assistance… as a matter of fact, the Aiglos cannon is almost purely C’tan made. Now, this is feeling more like a military parade, let us move back to the ball-room and have some fun for a change.” She smiled looking at Taurevanime, “Dear, these ships, the Dagor El, will benefit us all someday. They are designed to hunt and defeat Impirium war fleets, someday, these ships will save us all.”

Ithenril walked back into the main room, now some higher ranking Thelasi officers were standing around the edge of the room. Not a lot of soldiers, but around five or six. They were unarmed, as every visible Thelasi here seemed to be. Noticeable, also, was the lack of Military Police outside, in the past, this building would have been swarming, yet for some reason, the Thelasi seemed comfortable and, unusually, not paranoid.

Commander Kentherin strode forward to meet Ithenril, whispering something to her. Ithenril was obviously shocked by this news, “Very well, seal the Gate, close the Iris, and tell them to wait for me.” She turned to the group, “Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize, and I know this seems highly rude, but it is a matter that could effect us all most drastically, I will be back in a couple minutes… please, enjoy yourselves, Kentherin will take care of you.”

Fëaelenion nos Ancalimë, Empress Ithenril's fiancé stalked into the room, a little late, but there nevertheless. He tugged a little at the collar of his outfit, a little too tight, something he actually felt, being what was technically known as a C'tyr. While he was the offspring of Mephet'ran, C'tan, being the term for him, literally, in necrontyr meaning star-god.

So far in his long existence Mephet'ran had seen fit to create two of these children, tyr, being in ancient {very ancient} necrontyr myth, an angelic being known for walking among mortals, it seemed a little more appropriate. These C'tyr didn't possess nearly as many powerful attributes as their parents, and they were far more limited in the powers they could wield, which should not imply a low limit, for if the C'tan had such a limit, they'd yet to reach it.

As it was, Fëaelenion was currently wearing a rather glamorous outfit that bore a distinct similarity to a Thelasi naval dress uniform, but with the more overtly militaristic elements removed, and somewhat more handsome in its design. Still he seemed to exude an air of authority, though not as much as his parent did. And still he felt it was too tight. Certainly he could alter his avatar a little to make it fit, but he wasn't as keen a shape changer as his parent, or even his brother.

He smiled, and with a rapid step, strode over to Ithenril, ignoring her minions, "Whatever it is dear, I'm certain it can wait," he whispered, "It would be awfully impolite to leave now."

"The rumors said that the Thelasi were to elves as the barbarians were to the Roman Empire in Human History, but I think that under all that ruthless military cover there's something of value. After all, they're of Sindarin lineage, or at least those rumors says so".

"I'm eager to see them dancing, singing and dedicating to the noble elven arts, to be honest, I want them to impress me. Anyone can dedicate to warfare. After all, I don't think I will see another army as spectular as the Valar's army during the War of Wrath, and I must say that I served in that army when I was young, maybe as young as Aliria is now, so my military expectatives are always low. You can always invent new toys, but those toys are always things to play with, nevertheless. The true strenght of any force during a war is based on the dedication, preparation, steadfastness and capacity of your soldiers, it doesn't matter if he wields a sword or he pilots a starship, it's always based in the same principles", she kept walking alongside the C'tan, marveled to see how quiet he was during the walk in the spaceship.

“Hardly necron as such -” he began to reply before he was interrupted. Asirnoth glared at Nyellon. In past days he would have killed the elf in some spectacularly agonising way for even daring to interrupt him.

He still wanted to.

His hand clenched into a fist with force sufficient to crush the armour plate of the Thelasi battleship they had been watching before and he blinked as Aelosia spoke to him, “I would, just as a guess, suggest that he’s the latter he said, eyes narrowing. The temperature around him seemed to drop by a few degrees, almost as if he had some miniature version of a staff of ice upon his person somewhere, and though he excluded Aelosia from it, there was the impression of something horrendous crawling along the spines of those nearby.

He paused, “I shall look forward to your return,” he said, and stared at the impudent elf once more. Mephet’ran meanwhile was watching the three of them, and turned back to Taurevanimë, “That’s not too wise,” he commented on Nyellon’s interruption, “he’s… touchy.”
