To answer the questions about the nature of the wargames, something along the lines of these:

I usually play Delta Force on the Novaworld Public Servers
I would like to join this RP if you would be so kind.

Two more spots open.
The format will be modern. The teams will be limited to squad size (that mat be expanded to platoon size). The games will be a series of SOF missions, ala the previous 2 SOF wargames. However I plan to string them together in an integrated way, something along the lines of Robin Sage* , but more generalized.
*Robin Sage is the graduation exercise for USSFs. Google comes up with all kinds of hits.

OOC: Well, I'm really interested, and would be happily accepted, especially with the lack of RPs for me. Forces sent will be three squads of the PLA Army Special Operations Services, if you don't mind. Really interested.
OOC: isnt a squad like only four people?
Daistallia 2104
06-05-2004, 03:51
Confederate Countries, a fireteam is usually 3 to 5 people. A squad is usually 2 or 3 fireteams, or 6 to 15 people. And a platoon is usually 2 to 5 squads, with 3 or 4 being most common. Also check your Telegrams.
PRC China it will probably be limited to one squad (with a limit of 8-12 members). I may open it up to a platoon, but that would be for multiple simultanious missions...
Western Asia
06-05-2004, 03:54
WA is ready, willing, and waiting.
OOC: I will be using the same roster...for simplicity. The weapons might be changed a bit to accomodate recent equipment changes and adjustments in the WA/IDF inventories.
Current list post (to be amended):
Western Asia will be contributing a mixed team.
6 of the members will be members of a Sayeret Shaldag LRRP Surveillance/Strike team. The other four allowed team members will from Shayetet 13, the Western Asian Naval Special Warfare unit. Of those four, two will be from the Raids Palga ("Haposhtim") and two from the 'Above Water' Palga (similar to the USN's Special Boat Unit, but actually integrated and fully-capable warriors).
Team Roster:
[[Note: According to current Western Asian/IDF policy, most SOF Operators are not identified publicly beyond their rank and first name (or "nickname"). The ranks and first names of the team members are presented, along with the primary individual and group weaponry. The Sayeret Shaldag rankings are Air Force rankings while Shayetet 13 rankings are from the navy.]]
Sayeret Shaldag, 2nd Company, 1st Platoon, 1st Surveillance/Strike Team:
Rank (rank abbreviation) Name - Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Team Weapon
Major (Maj) Gal – IMI TAR 21 w/M203 grenade launcher, H&K Mk. 23 (SOCOM), Fly-K 51mm "Toe Mortar."
Captain (Cptn) Tov - IMI TAR 21 w/M203 grenade launcher, Sig 228, 2x M72 LAW, (1x IMI Shipon Replacement Rocket Pods), Franchi SPAS 12g Shotgun.
Lieutenant (Lt)Abram, D2M (Designated Secondary Marksman) – M4A1 carbine w/ Trijicon ACOG Reflex sight, Sig 228, 1x IMI Shipon rocket system (+ 2x Replacement Rocket Pods), 1 x M72 LAW.
Lieutenant (Lt) Eyal – IMI CTAR-21, H&K Mk. 23 (SOCOM), 76mm HIWS system. Also carries explosives and demolitions kits.
Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Shem – Sniper Specialist. Chooses rifle by situation. Standard sidearm is an H&K USP with an STAR- or CTAR-21 as a back-up primary.
Systems (only 1 carried/mission):
IMI SR-99 SWS (Tactical)
KAC SR25 Sniper Weapons System (SWS) (General. Medium/Long range.)
CheyTac .408 "Intervention" M200 (Anti-Materiel and Long Range).
Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Ron – Machine Gunner. Negev LMG (http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/small_arms/negev/negev_1.jpg), CAR-15 w/M203, Sig 226.
----------
Shayetet 13, Team 4 Operators.
(Note: during operations that involve diving, AK-47s will be used in place of the CAR15)
- Shayetet 13, 4th Flotilla, Raids Palga, Team 4
Lieutenant Hal – CAR-15 Commando, Micro Uzi SMG (w/ Sionics sound suppressor), Sig 226,
Midshipman Yitzhak – Negev Commando, Micro Uzi SMG (w/ Sionics sound suppressor), Sig 226
- Shayetet 13, 4th Flotilla, Above Water Palga, Team 4
Midshipman Fior (Transport Specialist and Team DM) – IMI SR-99 SWS (Tactical), Micro Uzi SMG (w/ Sionics sound suppressor), Sig 226
Midshipman Meri (Transport Specialist) – CAR-15 Commando, Micro Uzi SMG (w/ Sionics sound suppressor), Sig 226
--------------------------
Operators are easily identifiable thanks to their "Mit'znefet (http://www.isayeret.com/gear/helmet/5.jpg)" helmet covers (More on the Mit’znefet (http://www.isayeret.com/camo/cover.htm)). Operators will employ a number of helmet-mounted devices, including Monocular Night Vision Devices (NVD) and Night Vision Goggles (NVG), primarily Litton Personal Vision System 7 (PVS7). Operators may also carry in portable ceramic shields (http://www.isayeret.com/gear/shield/shield.htm).
Standard BDUs are worn, as are Ghillie Suits (optional for Designated Marksmen (DMs)) and/or Personal Camouflage Suits (http://www.isayeret.com/camo/personal.htm) and Camo covers for weapons (especially for DMs).
-----
The Shayetet 13 Operators will be in command of naval-type operations and the transport specialists will operate the team vehicles.
Systems that the team will be arriving with include Desert Raider 6x6 RECCE units and militarized ATVs for ground operations and IDF-issued small watercraft for naval operations. These systems and local helicopters will be used.
If possible, IDF pilots may participate in limited roles as pilots for the teams that are familiar with their style.
P.S. Daistallia, you should copy the old wargame texts or get that thread moved to the "historic threads" forum.
I might change the org if there are no amphibious or at-sea missions (as were required for the 2nd Annual comp.

OOC: Alright, that'll be much acceptable. Guess I'll send one squad then, although I'd much also want to send an additional detatchment of sniper + spotter, if that'll be alright. I can also provide the transportations if needed.
An overview (the information here is very much open ICly, although some are more closed than the others):
PLA Army Special Operation Services -- Force 1A, 1st Company, 3rd Platoon, Squad "Jaguar":
Fireteam One
Captain Zhang -- Type 95B Carbine with Special Operation Modifications (TSBJ -- Suppressor, Reflex Sight, 5X Scope, and Type 91M Grenade Launcher most common; favourite is reflex + 91M) OR Type 85 SMG, QSZ-92 Pistol;
Lieutenant Xiang -- Type 95B Carbine with TSBJ suite, QSZ-92 Pistol, SPAS-12 Shotgun;
Second Lieutenant Yiao -- Type 95B Carbine with TSBJ, QSZ-92, SPAS-12 (certain conditions);
Second Lieutenant Jiang -- Type 95B Carbine w/ TSBJ OR Type 95 SAW version OR Type 85 SMG, QSZ-92
Fireteam Two, Three
[Repeat, except names]
Fireteam Four
Lt. Cao -- Type 81M Commando with TSBJ, QSZ-92 (Spotter)
Second Lt. Wang -- Type 95S SPR (Special Purpose Rifle -- Tactical) OR Type 79/SVD (Anti-personnel) OR T80 .50cal (Copy of the M82A1 -- anti-materiel), QSZ-92 (Sniper)
NOTE: Alternation between roles occurs.
Other equipments includes PF-89 LAW, RPG-7 (with new rounds & sights), LAW (copied), QW-2 SAMs (not used in this) and demolition kits, plus NVGs and thermal sights, aside from ATV/FAVs, RHIBs, MD-500 (OH-6) and S-70 (UH-60) helicopters, aside from Y-8 and (ancient) An-2 transports. Although in situations they will be issued with civilian clothings and enemy uniforms as camoflauge, this time they will be issued with standard camoflauge, armor vests (kevlar plus cermanic plates). They are capable of being inserted through air, water and land, and recently sea by submarines.

Working up the scenarios now. The initial breifing will probably be up Sunday or Monday. Due to my own time constraints and the NS server "difficulties" (it took me an hour to read 3 threads last night), the turn around time between turns will probably be 2-3 days.
OOC:um this is my first one so here goes...
IC: I have two C 130 transport/gunship helicopters.
And the two squads infiltrate with those. My men carry a uniform weapon of M16A2s and C 16 as a sidearm. They also have four fragmentation grenades (explosives vary upon missions though.) And as of yet i couldnt draw up a formal roster.

(the map is quite big, if anyone has difficulty, let me know, and I will see what I can do about finding another one.)
The first set of OpOrds are ready, and await the posting of team rosters.
A few notes:
For those who have not participated in the previous SOF wargames (above), you should read the operation order and write up the whole mission.
You have control of the OpFor. All I ask in that regard is don*t play them stupid. :) (The OpFor in this case is the Daistallian 1st Air Assault Division, sinilar to the US 101st.)
Transport, supply, and support will all be provided as needed.
Also, as it makes for a more interesting wargames, some "friction" changes will be tossed in.

MGS is Metal Gear Solid as in the game Metal Gear Solid...and it takes place in the 2020 AD or sort of...early 21st century...
if you still wont agree on nanos then i'll just say they're implants...i just needed a fancier name for it...well even though they use the term nano-machines in the game...

No. No implants. No nano tech. Way to advanced. As I said above, this is modern or very near modern.
*sigh* looks like they'll have to end up using the connection gear for the mission...i'll just integrate the Soliton Radar into the F2000 computer sights...or maybe get some handheld ones...hmmm...or possibly integrate them with the connection gears...
and also...how's my roster Daistallia? i kinda rushed it because i'm multi-tasking (studying at the same time...well attempting to) and check your TGs

I have heard of it, but was not familiar with the abbreviation. And no, no video game systems.
BTW, I am thinking about doing an open tech version of this later. :D

open tech would be nice...but i believe that you should set a limit of what techs can be used...you dont want to have someone wielding an infinite ammo laser gun with armor...or having mechas walking around...a good time frame would be near future tech or in the mid-21st century (by that time there should be some of the advances you see in the news or in magazines today)

Both a near future (which I am slowly moving towards now - hence 2104) and full open could be fun.
