The Big Land Grab: Epsilon Pegasi up for auction (Space)
Background Information: The Epsilon Pegasi system, formerly controlled by the Klonor Empire, is currently occupied by the nations of Vernii, Valinon, and Taka. The system consists of twelve worlds, the first six are terrestrial. The first three are unhabitable, then the next three are habitable, and two of those are settled. Next is an asteroid belt, and then six gas giants. The system's assets were divided equally between the three nations, and Vernii controls the third and fourth gas giants, along with a portion of the system's asteroid belt, with roughly 20,000 sizable asteroids in it.
Vernii's Treasury Department has slated three of the third giant's 24 moons, and five of the fourth giant's 33 moons for auction. Five thousand asteroids are also being auctioned, in lots of one thousand each. Bids are not total amounts, its a yearly amount. (Ex. $10 million per year). The winning bidder for each moon shall receive a 50 year (50 RL days) lease for the moon. If a nation wishes, it may purchase the moon for the amount of the bid multiplied by the 50 year lease, + 5%. (Ex. $10 million multiplied by 50 years = $500 million + (5% of 500 million) = $525 million), and that nation will receive a permanent deed.
The Treasury will write up a lease between it and the winning nations, which can then be accepted or refused by those nations. Bidding will start as soon as the moons and asteroids are posted, and will end in two days time. The "items" will be listed in the next post.
Bidding ends at 9:00 PM server time on Wednesday

Asteroids: The asteroid belt of Epsilon Pegasi orbits the system's red giant star between the sixth terrestrial world and the first gas giant. They are rich in iron and nickel, silicates, and volatiles (hydrogen, water, etc), along with other metals and minerals. Each lot consists of 1,000 asteroids. Also, if you don't plan on using them for mining, they can still be moved out of the system (if you actually purchase them instead of leasing) and used for a myriad of purposes, such as habitats, secret bases, or hurling into enemy planets.

OOC: Moons will be in next post, as I'm going to do a bit more detailed info on each.
It should be noted that the Takian Homeworld is going to be moved to Epsilon Pegasi, and any and all space powers that come into the system will be expected to strike up mutual non-hostilities treaties with the Takian Empire. As all rented colonies will be treated as a forgien power, you will be free from tarrifs, however we strongly recomend use of a Takian Merchant Marine convoy for protection against pirate attacks. These convoys can be hired from the Guild personal stores, simply TG for details and prices.
OOC: I'm going to use names of moons from our solar system to help distinguish the different items. The first three are orbiting the third gas giant, and the last five orbit the fourth giant.

Note: Moons have other resources other than those listed, these are just the ones that are present in large quantity.
The Colony of SR-2901, in an attempt to maintain what was once the vast and glorious Klonor Empire, would like to tender bids for the three moons orbiting the third gas giant (That would be Titan, Carme, and Leda). Our opening bid is as stated in the advertising post.
And we have our first bidder! Updated with your bids.
The Draconian-Rossian Alliance, the true heirs to the Klonor Empire, would like to tender our bids for the 1'st, 2'nd, and 3'rd lots in the asteroid belt. We wish to keep a Klonor presence in the system that shall soon rejoin our ranks.
Our opening bids shall be those stated in the original post, being 5 million per.
Come on nations! Now's your chance to buy entire moons from the former Klonor Empire. This is quite possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity! You might even be able to get them dirt cheap! Take Carme for example, if SR-2091 won the bid with $60 million, that would be $1 for every 106 cubic kilometers!
EDIT: Asteroid lots updated with DRA bids.
Come on, doesn't anybody want to buy part of my dead Empire?
Okay, it'd be kinda wierd if I ended up owning the whole system (at least all that Vernii is selling). Doesn't someone want to bid?

The United Banking Guild of Mournhold, operating on behalf of clients which wish to remain anonymous at this time, are extending the following offers in regards to the bidding on the first, second, and third asteriod lots. Our clients have instructed us to announce a new bid of 5.5 million for each respective lot.
Guildmaster Vvard,
Representative of the United Banking Guild of Mournhold and associated parties
Updated with the asteroid bids, and the bids on the moons from this telegram.
After further consultation with our clients, another set of bids will also be entered. This one pertains to the satellites of Titan, Carme, and Lida. The bids of our clients for these satellites stand at 86 million, 61 million, and 30.5 million, respectively.
Guildmaster Vvard,
Representative of the United Banking Guild of Mournhold and associated clients
We, the people's of the Draconian-Rossian Alliance, will raise our bid to 10 million per.
I, Head Senator for the Colony of SR-2091, shall raise that bids placed upon the three moons. We shall bid 5 million more than the current high (since the forums just died on me and I can't go back and see what was just bid) for each moon, and are willing to continue as needed.
Updated with new bids from both nations.

IC:
In the USSCF capital it was three AM and everyone was asleep, well except for the Premier's young aide who was running towards the Premier's bedchamber with haste.
"Premier! Premier!" He yelled as he barged into the Premier's private bedchambers, waking the both Premier and his two of his mistresses up.
Still sleepy eyed, the Premier replied "Slow down, what is so important that you had to wake Kiki, Bylanna, and myself up?"
"The Verniians have begun auctioning off their chunk of the old Klonorian Epsilon Pegasi system." The aide said, his heavy breathing and short sentences illustrated the fact that he had run here from the Command Center, a mile underground. His panting was a result of the elevator's malfunction, so the poor aide had to climb 20 flights of stairs to reach the ground floor.
"So? Why should we care, we're not imperialists. When you came barging in here, I assumed you had something important to say." The Premier said, his rage building up as the full effect of the late night wake up call sank in.
"But sir, the real estate is going for dirt cheap. We should buy a moon or two. The former Klonor systems seem to be where everything in space is happening. We need a base there solely for intelligence purposes. But we could also mine these moons, and possibly terraform them. This is an oppertunity that we, as a space power, cannot really afford to pass up." The Aide argued. He wanted, like all red-blooded CF citizens, to improve the power and prestige of the nation. And this purchase could fit the bill quite nicely.
"Couldn't we just buy an astroid or something? Why do we need to buy an entire moon?" The Premier said. His position was slipping, and he knew it.
"No sir, they aren't just selling individual astroids..." The Aide lied through his teeth, hoping the Premier would not find out. A moon was better prestige and had more uses than an old astroid anyway.
"Well...Okay. Do you have information about the moons that we're thinking of leasing or buying?" The Premier asked cautiously.
"Right here. I feel that these two <Miranda and Himalia> would be perfect for us." The Aide stuck out his hands to illustrate that point.
"Fine. We'll inquire about leasing (and hopefully purchasing) these moons. In fact, I want you to get on it right now." The Premier replied.
"At once Premier" The Aide bowed and left the room. He then began drafting a message to the Verniian authority responsible for the auction.
[code:1:31ea9f600e]To whom it may concern:
Even here upon Earth, we have heard of your great auction of former Klonor territory. We would like to place a bid for Miranda (50 million per year) and Himalia (at 78 million per year.) If possible, we would look into purchasing these moons permenently, but we shall wait upon that until the bidding has ended.
Best Regards,
The office of the Premier, United Socialist States of Central Facehuggeria.[/code:1:31ea9f600e]
OOC: Ack, I hope the server cooperates.
The Draconian-Rossian Alliance, in an attempt to maintain a presence in the Epsilon Pegasi system, shall raise our bid to 15 million per asteroid lot. We are also willing to include the DRAB Patroclus, an Achilles class Battleship, in the payment. Valued at 725 billion, consider it an added incentive. Monetary value alone, what better way to insure our obedience to your rules than to have our own guns pointed right back at us?
Updated with your bids CF, nice post. Klonor, should I just divide the value of the Achilles and add that in to each of the three bids?
Updated Klonor's bids on the asteroids. I think my new system defences just got paid off.

At the direct behest of our clients, we will now raise the current bid on asteroid lots one, two, and three to 400 million. Also the Twin Star Line Corporation, one of our clients, offers 4.84 billion worht of docking and construction space at its new Arcadia Space Yards facility in the Yalta system to the competitive bid.
Guildmaster Vvard,
Representative of the United Banking Guild of Mournhold and associated parties
Bump. I also corrected a mistake on the current bids for the asteroids. I forgot that I should have also divided the Achilles' worth by 50 once I divided it by 3. That would then be the monetary equivalent per year of what it's worth.
Boroglia, you're in the lead now.

The Commonwealth of the WIck would like to start a bid on the moons of Dione Enceladus and Umbriel with the starter bid listed we would also like to bid on the remaining 2 asteroid lots at thier inital bid thank you
OOC: I see you truly want these asteroids. It shall make victory all the sweeter
IC:
Seeing the increased bid fom Boroglia, and at the urging of General Keane, the DRA is willing to increase our bid to 5 billion per lot. We are also willing to take sole responsibility for the defense of our purchased territory, including patrols of the surrounding area (should save you a fortune on fleet costs).

Our clients will match your bid, and increase it to 5.2 billion per lot. They also have organized appropriate security forces that are more than capable of handling operations around the asteriods. And finally, they promise that their presence will be infinitely more preferrable to the other nations currently located in Epsilon Pegasi than those of the Draconian-Rossian "Consortium."
Guildmaster Vvard,
Representative of the United Banking Guild of Mournhold and associated parties
OOC: Oy, you force me to pull out the heavy guns
IC:
In addition to matching the opponents bid, and increasing it to 5.5 billion, we are willing to transmit the positronic codes for the Harbinger Cannons control A.I.'s. In additon, (and this is the first time this has ever even been considered) we shall transmit the design schematics for the Harbinger Warheads.
(Essentially, the 20 trillion dollars worth of hardware around every planet in the EP system is now in perfect working order, provided I win, and you can now manufacture the ammunition instead of needing to purchase it from me or Lil miss)

The new hard currency bid for our clients will now stand at 5.6 billion, and we also have additional matters to address. At this time, President Baron Andrei Mironenko, leader of the United Guilds, will take this time to renounce the anonminity clause of our contract with him.
The United Guilds will refit every Harbinger Cannon in the Pegasi system with improved AIs built to your own specifications. We feel this is far more preferrable, as Klonorian built hardware has shown repeatedly it is notoriously known for turning against those around it. Finally, Cygnus SpaceWorks offers the recently reverse engineered and improved Harbinger head it has been developing, along with detailed blueprints and manufacturing schematics.
Also, Nova Technologies will link the system of Epsilon Pegasi to the Nu-space network and grant all Verniian territory in Pegasi free access after installation.
Totaled these items come to 28 trillion in value.
Guildmaster Vvard,
Representative of the United Guilds of Valinon, the Twin Star Line Corporation, and Cygnus Space Works
Boroglia, your nation is currently in the lead.
As those behind me wish to remain unknown, I am the one who shall bid for some things they are interested in. Those are...
The two asteroid plots which are now held by the WIcks as the highest bidder. We shall raise it to ten million per plot, which are, plots four and five, obviously. As long as the bids are still truly the highest ones. And then to the moons. We shall bid thirty million on Dione. On Umbriel, fifty one million.
Do you accept ancient artifacts and/or gems of great value as payment? On that depends how we shall pay.
Xirrath, Elder of the Dusk.
(OOC: This means that the bidder is Xirrath, not Ermor. You are supposed to not know that it is this nation that's behind him. He's a human male, if you care about things like that.)

Hmph. Then we shall raise our bid on the lots four and five to twenty million, as the rest have bids unnaturally high. We shall withdraw our bid on Umbriel, and bid fourty five million on the moon Leda and fifty one million on the moon Enceladus. The bid on Dione still stands.
Xirrath, Elder of the Dusk.
(OOC: As said in the earlier post, Xirrath should be the one named as the bidder if named at all, not Ermor.)
All new bids confirmed. Unified Sith, to purchase Titan you must first win the bid. You haven't specified any amount, and so WIck is still in the lead for that moon.

OOC: Cool, how much would I need to purchase the two moons, and perhaps more importantly, is a layaway plan available? We cannot afford to spend ten trillion USD or more at once.
So, we have now won the auction of two plots of asteroids and the moons Leda and Enceladus, yes? Very good. We would pay in gold forged into coins in the ancient times, and with many other treasures we have held for thousands of years, if that is appropriate. We wish to buy what we have won through this auction, not lease. We shall send the payment to you immediately... Immediately after they have been loaded and we know where to bring them.
Xirrath, Elder of the Dusk.
Ermor, the total for purchasing comes to $2.1 billion on the two asteroid lots. Purchasing Leda comes to $2.362 billion, and purchasing Enceladus comes to $2.67 billion.
Central Facehuggeria, purchasing Himalia comes to $4.095 billion., and purchasing Miranda comes to $2.625 billion. Is this acceptable for both of you, or should we discuss payment plans?
Since you are both purchasing the properties, there will be no need for me to write up a lease. You can do with them whatever you wish. The People's Navy does ask though that they be notified before any warships belonging to either of your fleets are sent into Epsilon Pegasi, to avoid any repeats of the New Dawn Incident.
Ermor, the total for purchasing comes to $2.1 billion on the two asteroid lots. Purchasing Leda comes to $2.362 billion, and purchasing Enceladus comes to $2.67 billion.
Very well. What we are to give you should be quite enough, we think. Five ships full of what we can offer as payment. Gold - as said, in the form of ancient coins, what you shall do to them is your business -, diamonds, ancient artifacts of more or less power and the like. We will let you take whatever of them. Does this seem satisfactory?
Xirrath, Elder of the Dusk.
(OOC: Since Ermor doesn't have an income as such, nor an upkeep, this is how it goes. They have what they have, and that's that. And what they have is antique made of valuable materials. They have great amounts of it, so getting it up to 7.132 billion should not be a problem. There's just the thing about actually getting them to you... Wonder if it'd be enough to just say that they got to you, and that's that? Or do you wish to RP the fact? I'm going to type stuff about it in my other thread that isn't related and all.)
It's enough to say that they arrived. The government could always send a freighter to pick up the payment if it's too much trouble.
It's enough to say that they arrived. The government could always send a freighter to pick up the payment if it's too much trouble.
(OOC: No need, since it's already been sent on those five ships, and I shall say it now. All you need to do is confirm the fact that they got to you.)
IC:
The ships that are to be used to send the payment to you are ready, and are coming to you. They should arrive quite quickly, as the method of travel we use is quite... Fast.
It has been a pleasure dealing with you. Fare thee well.
Xirrath, Elder of the Dusk.
Very well, we hand over control of the moons and asteroids to your nation. May future dealings between our nation go as well as this one.

The Commonwealth of the WIck would like to also buy our pair of moons. We will also like to make you aware of how we intend to develop them.
Dione will be established as a mining area. There will be structures and mines on the moon's surface and there will also be a small refinery station in orbit along with multiple storage areas. A small picket will be detailed for security comprised of a Light Cruiser with two destroyers along with 12 LACs (Housed in the refinery).
Umbriel shall be mined in a similar manner as Dione, only to a greater extent. In orbit in addition to the ore processing station shall be a Repair yard, used to repair any ship needing it in our picket fleet our convoys that will undoubtedly be present trading with Vernii assets in system. Umbriel will be our command center in this system there will be numerous defense platform around the repair yard along with 6 LAC squadrons for local defense, 48 LACs total. A taskforce of WIckian ships will be stationed at Umbriel also, comprised of a 2 Fraternity class Battle cruisers 4 Heavy cruisers, 8 destroyers.

OOC: Wow, is that all? Hell, I can afford to give out billions like candy.
IC:
Once again, the Aide was running through the halls of the Premieral building. This time, however he was not as concerned about waking up the Premier. It was only two PM CF standard time. He might interrupt some R&R with one of the Premier's numerous Mistresses, but he deemed the situation merited an interruption.
"Premier! Premier!", The aide cried panting from the run up the stairs that he once again had to endure.
This time, the Premier was alone (which is good, for the premier has been known to get...angry when his private time gets interupted) and the Aide barged into his room, much as he had before.
"We have won the two moons in the Verniian auction! I have drafted up the transfer of funds documents to pay for them. Here..." The aide held out a peice of crisp, new parchment paper.
Laser etched onto the paper was the entire contract authorizing the Premier to pay the nation of Vernii a total sum of 6.720 Billion USD for the deed to the two moons.
The Premier quickly signed his name and returned it to the aide.
"Thank you, Premier. I will get to work immediately on putting our aquisitions to good use." The Aide said, before bowing and speedily exiting the room. He was excited, he had big plans for these two moons...
He ran down the corridor (he must be in really good shape from all the running he does! :)) and into his room. He powered up his computer and began typing out a report to the nation of Vernii, discussing the plans of the USSCF for the two moons. He also contacted the national reserve, and authorized them to wire the agreed sum to Verniian bank accounts.
[code:1:e6791fd655]To whom it may concern within the Vernii government:
As this message is being sent, the payment should be wired to your bank accounts. As you requested a brief overview of USSCF plans for the moons, here they are.
We plan to mine both moons and hopefully establish small colonies upon the two moons. But what we intend to do in the short term is establish two medium sized military bases/listening posts upon the moons for intelligence purposes. Each of these bases will have no more than 20,000 personell and will each have a small shipyard and a constant garrison of 2 Decimator class heavy cruisers and 2,000 Elite Troopers (for ground defense.) Each CF ship that visits the system will have their IFF transponders set to *Neutral: USSCF.*
We will also be fortifying the area immediate area around the military bases with defensive orbital weapons platforms.
We hope this is acceptable[/code:1:e6791fd655]

So, how many people now own pices of EP? There's Vernii, Taka, Central Facehuggeria, Ermor, anybody else? Seriously, I now need to conquer like 5 different people to get back my system. Oy, I better start a major fleet buildup
(OOC: Sorry, Ermor has already begun the process of making the moons they own... hostile to all life. And the strange thing is that it has been *legal*, in the sense that they actually bought the land. Read my threads, and you shall understand.
And three of those Colossuses, huh? And just how are you actually maintaining them with your empire in chaos?)
Simple: Exploitation and theft. The DRA has conquered Regulus, and they are ransacking that system for all its worth. That gives them three solar systems which are almost completely devoted to the sole project of supporting the military fleet. Now, if the DRA was in any way a competent government (meaning they actually spent money on non-military things such as education and welfare and social secuirty, etc.) it would be impossible, but its focus is so focused that its possible (At least, it sounds possible and people often don't care enough to attack the many weak points)
