The Vrakian advance team arrived without undue hinderance to inspect the new consulate quarters. Seeing that the building was generally satisfactory and didn't require too much renovation, a letter was sent back to the Diplomatic Corps.

Within a week, Trumo Oriut, Ambassador 3rd class, arrived at his new post. He ponderously exited from the limosuine and heaved his massive walrus bulk into the building. This should do, he mused. Accompanying the Ambassador were two squadrons of marines - to provide protection for the Vrakian diplomatic staff.

Some considerations about building embassies within Weyr—

Weyr is currently involved in peace talks with the Armed Republic of Gramal, although no further military action is expected at the moment.

It is perfectly legal to bring in anything and everything into the nation, including nuclear waste, WMDs, and anything else that one may desire.

Weyr’s policy towards diplomatic immunity:
A jury will try a diplomat who commits a crime in Weyr [murder, theft, or malicious manipulation] within seven days of apprehension. The government that owns that person’s embassy can pay off that person’s debt after the trial.

All new embassies are normally placed within Embassy Tower. Currently, floors 32 through 71 are available for occupation. The building is located across the road from Council Hall, which is the center of Weyr’s government, and contains a number of amenities. Security is provided upon request.

Lord Eran Welsh -- Lord because it generated more respect and because Common Weyrik did not have the word 'Lady' -- stepped out of one of the new gray embassy cars, to survey the embassy building. Two Alchemists of The Tower, arrayed in azure greatcoats bearing the shoulder insignia of The Tower, stepped out to flank her. The embassy guard would arrive later, once everything was inspected.

"Not bad," she thought. Weyr did not usually establish official embassies, and most of those tended to be delapidated buildings located squarely in a capital's slums.

In Embassy Tower, built at the highest tier of the capital city of Wye, workers strung more fiber optic lines through the upper floors. If any nation chose to have an embassy in Weyr, it would be able to move in within two days. Cramped space in Weyr's cities made Embassy Tower a necessity. Of course, Weyr would attempt to provide a separate building if a nation required it.

Across from the Council HAll skyscraper, facing the wide, tree-lined avenue called King's Way, was Embassy Tower, one of the newer additions to Wye's sweeping skyline. Built on the upper slopes of Mt. Weyr, the tower's upper floors were periodically veiled in clouds. Embassy Tower was built lin a style similar to that of the old skyscrapers [like Empire State], and sunlight glintedd off its many windows.

At street level, six High Guards in navy greatcoats bearing the insignia of 'The Kingdom of Weyr' flanked the open brass and silver doors of Embassy Tower. They were all trained spellcasters, though not members of The Tower.

A black gyrojet with the crimson symbol of the Republic emblazoned upon it landed in Draconis Nightcrawlis' largest airport. Stored within it were numerous members of the ambassadorial staff, and various objects of furniture and other essentials.

Arbiter Yunse Hyaphisaro, Lesser Class arrived at the embassy with a small entourage. Before long, he deemed it an excellent embassy building, and began to set about making it more like home.
