Hey I am just getting started here in N.S and would appreciate any advice from all you veterans out there. I am in my own region and looking for members, if you have any advice or would like to become a member of Choppa Island, just telegram me or reply to this post. Thanks a lot.

Welcome to NS...I'll give you some tips you need to know when RPing here:

Tip:

1. Do your research
Research the thing you are going to sell in your store front or use to RP with. For example, if you are going to sell a tank in a store front, do research on the tank to have information to back the reliability of the tank itself and the seller.

2. Never godmod
Self explanatory. No one billion sized armies for a young nation, like yourself, with only a population of 5 million. Or, no mega weapon that is invincible and can destroy anything. And also, if someone destroys or attacks a city (e.g. your city) you need to report losses.

3. Put detail into your posts
Give lots of information and write a lot in your posts to make it more attracting to the readers, so that they might be willing to join the thread.

4. Play fair
No fighting with the other RPers...Nothing else to write about this one...Self explanatory.

5. Watch your grammar
On NS, or anyother forums, you have all the time to type, while on Instant Messengers, you don't. Try to keep your spelling, if not also grammar, always in check.

6. Read the FAQs scattered around the various forums on NS

I would also advise that you wait a little while to try to rally peope to your own region. Also, you need to make sure that your military is never more than 3% of your population. Others say 5%, but that number is so unrealistic I ignore people who claim to have that many in their armed forces.

Also, don't forget that if you want to create a nation you love, you need to create a good storyline and background for it. Many nations are just simply in existence, with no character to them. Character to a nation gives it a real zing. :wink:

Do NOT try to buy nuclear weapons or anything of that sort until you've been around for a month. Don't worry though, you can build up friendships during that time. Also, don't try to change your nation from evil to good, or vice versa too often. It gets a little annoying, especially when one doesn't RP it properly.

Lastly, for your first month or so, be wary of nations who are out to seek small nations like yourself. I would suggest joining a protective alliance, and you probably don't want to go around sounding off verbal attacks until you've got the power to defend yourself from idiots who might seek to attack you for speaking out.

Just RP well, follow the rules, and you'll get along fine.

You by no means have to take this advice but listen at least :wink:

I would suggest not moving into a region of you own straight away. Instead join one so you can make some friends and get used to it all, you'll find it alot easier then when you do make a region.

Also, if you don't i'll annex you helpless region :wink:
