The office of Unconventional Warfare today has received the go ahead to perform another nuclear expansion program. The number of new nuclear weapons is currently classified(OOC: increasing operational nukes to 110 thousand from 80 thousand.) Most of the new weapons constructed will be the mobile light kinds that can be fired off railway cars or mobile launchers around the country. Also the amount of space based nuclear weapons will increase by 1000 to an operational level of three thousand. Construction of all weapons is expected to be completed within 5 years from the start of construction.
Secret IC: Belem is also planning on developing and deploying Cobalt bombs on a test basis with approx. 400 ICBMs launched from hardened bunkers, 400 from mobile ICBM systems or more tactical systems with approx. 200 spaced based weapons and if feasible for a cobalt weapon 200 suitcase bombs. R&D and production on cobalt weaponary is expected to take 8-10 years.
