This is a thread that role-plays the story of my nations formation and the "Consumer Revolution" that caused it. Feel free to join in and role-play!

The nation of Consumeron was a capitalist paradise. Even the government itself was a corporation. It was publicly traded, recieved income in the form of Taxes, and made its profits through managing government services. Healthcare, Education, etc., all of these services were run like private businesses, but they were all run by the "Governement Corporation."

Consumerism was compulsory, if a person did not spend their quota in consumer goods, they would be forced to work for extremely little pay, until their quota was paid. 99% of the wealth was controlled by 1% of the population. Disease ran rampant, as most of the populace could not afford basic healthcare.

The nation was on the brink of revolution...

10 years after Consumeron was formed: The nation was at its lowest low. The birth rate had dropped to an all time low, and the death rate was skyrocketing. The few revolutionary groups knew that if they didn't act soon, there would be no reason to fight. They realised that their only option was to unify as one group.

4 years later: The Consumer Freedom Group is formed from the scattered revolutionary groups

From for the next 5-6 years, the CFG performed minor attacks and skirmishes. But 11 years after the formation of the CFG, they caught the attention of the entire nation. The CFG took control of three major government factories that produced consumer goods. They were able to rally public support for their cause and workers in factories nationwide revolted and took control from the government and big corporations. Within 5 years, 60% of the nations industries were in the control of the CFG. The government of Consumeron was officialy bought-out by the CFG, only 37 years after the nation was formed (OOC: This might not quite add up, but take the 37 years as correct, as opposed to adding up the other dates).

The Consumer Revolution was over! But the story doesn't end there...

[OOC: If you want to run a modern nation I suggest pushing your dates back or even better just making the dates very vague.(ie- A revelution happened. Two years latter Mr. X was assasinated. After year there was a terrorist bombing)]

[OOC: Role-plays posted by me are designed to be written from an impartial historical point of view, not from the point of view of PwaF's current government.
Also, I am going to use a new dating system, AR = After Revolution (i.e. when the CFG took control of the government]

The victory was won, the CFG had taken control of the government. However, now it was time to switch from revolution and aggression, to politics, and that transition would prove to be filled with turmoil.

The CFG formed an interim govening council to manage the country while a new system of government was formed. Though detailed records are difficult to find, it is reported that the original plan for the future of Consumeron was to create a free democratic republic that would allow the people to control their own destiny.

However, as it has been said many times, "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutly," and this situation would prove no different. One man, recorded only as "The Freedom Fighter" was able to gain control of the governing council and convince them that, under him, they would be granted high ranking positions. So, in the first election ever held by the people of Consumeron (in the year 4AR), the "Freedom Fighter", supported by the interim governing council, was elected by a 64% majority.

Once in power, he followed through on his word and appointed his supported into high-ranking government positions. His first act changed the name of the nation to something that he felt reflected the new changes in the government. He named the state "The Free Land of the People Who Are Free" (It was said that he was not very creative...).

But, it was his second act that would drastically change the dream of a Free Nation...

Within four years of the revolution, a new government was in power, led by a person who was only known as "The Freedom Fighter." Never before had there been such a sense of hope throught the nation. The old corporate machine of Consumeron was put to use rebuilding the economy of the nation. However, events were about to take place that threatened to destroy all of the work of the CFG.

In the year 5AR, the leader of the nation of PwaF enacted the Freedom Act. Among other things, this act declared that the leader of the nation be known henceforth as "The Supreme Free-Lord" and that elections would be outlawed. The act also stated that: In hopes of maintaining the freedom of the people of this nation, the Supreme Free-Lord shall control all aspects of the nation, and all power shall reside in him, for he is the protector of Freedom.

Of course, the final result turned out to be quite the opposite, and the "Supreme Free-Lord" did not protect the nation's Freedom at all. The nation quickly became a communist dictatorship. While the consumerism that caused the downfall of Consumeron was gone, an new extreme now existed. Those who showed signs of rebellion would be "removed," which happened frequently during the first few years of this new nation.

The people were free of compulsory consumerism, but were now ruled by an all powerful dictator.

This is basically the end of my role-playing, basically I have brought the story forward to the present (approx. 10AR). If anyone else wants to role-play I will continue to check and reply]

In a dimmly lit basemont in the "Free Land's" capital dozens of plainly dressed men and women crowd around a young man wearing work cloaths and an olive drab cap with a red and black star pinned to the front of it. Copies of a The Industral Worker are bing distributed.

"Fellow workers, for many years has our nation been consumed in the name of consumerism, and now we are made slaves to a raving psychopath and his armed goons in the very name of freedom. No more! No political revolution can overthrow the ruling class: the revolution must first be social and economical! We need no one to guard our freedom but ourselves, and only we the workers have the perogative to manage the farms and factories that we toil over. We must organize and build a new society within the shell of the old. Together we will form One Big Union of all the workers. Together we can make the tyrants collapse when we make the wheels of industry grind to a halt!"

The audiance cheers. A few amongst them begin to sing and the rest pick up the old well-loved labor anthem
