Species 1 enters this galaxy
Species 1

OOC: wanted to make this a few days ago but now is good enough.
IC: A dark large object finally neared this galaxy after a voyage that had taken hundreds of years.
The system it entered was unremarkable, held no life and was not claimed by anyone.... untill now.
As it entered the system smaller objects emerged from it which then quickly spread across the solar system. Some of them began harvesting asteroids while others moved towards the moons and solid planets in the system and settled down there. The large object itself now broke apart into several cubes which also moved to the asteroid belt of the system.
5 years later
In only a few years the entire system was completely changed. Distant observers would now detect a diminishing of the brightness of the sun. This was caused by a swarm of small rectangles that where gathering all the energy the sun was putting out. The asteroid belt had been transformed into a giant space station and the planets had been completely covered by all kinds of buildings.

Their scouts have identified new systems to be harvested. The ships used to colonize these 5 systems are much smaller then the original object that entered this galaxy so complete restructuring will take some more time. None of the systems contain any lifeforms.

Two types of vessels in use by Species 1:
Scout vessel
Dimensions: a sphere of 300m in diameter
Power core: quantum singularity
Hull: Tritanium
Armament:
- 20 plasma launchers with a range of 1.000.000 km
- 5 focused energybeam emitters with a range of 50.000 km
- 1 Spacial distortion emitter (simply a modification to one of its FTL-propulsion systems but very effective against anything that comes within 10 km of it)
Comments: It has several FTL-propulsion systems and its sensors are the best that was available in their home galaxy.
http://employees.csbsju.edu/rsorensen/modelcitizen/trekships/borg/rendered_borg_sphere.jpg
Battlevessel
Dimensions: cube of 1km.
Power core: 1 quantum singularity and 4 anti-matter reactors.
Hull: Tritanium with neutronium plating
Armament:
- 20 plasma launchers with a range of 3.000.000 km
- 15 focused energybeam emitters with a range of 1.200.000 km
- 12 missile launchers for missiles with anti-matter warheads with a range of 800.000 km.
Comments: The huge amount of power this vessel needs meant it could not operate on one singularity. First installing a second singularity was tried but this was never succesfull. Instead it was equipped with 4 anti-matter reactors and this proved to be a satisfactory solution to the problem. The neutronium hull plating doesn't cover the entire vessel because this would leave it defenseless and blind. Unlike the scout it cannot regenerate its hull but instead patches it with tritanium untill it can be repaired in a dock.

At the rim of known space
Hiresh moved through the red current of hyperspace, patroulling this areas... They were kinda insignificant, almost all life in this galaxy was concentrated in a single system, still, there were outsiders...
Chaos is the proper state of the universe. Only through chaos can the universe reach perfection.
He listened to the words of wisdom, the eye, telling him what to do... How to do it.
He didn´t remember his past, his parents in india... He didn´t remember how the Navis put him into that tube... Nor did he remember his first shock upon seeing the dead surface of Z'Ha'Dum... Not his cry when they... changed him.
The first thing he remembered... the wisdom of the eye...
And it spoke to him.
It had found something.
Search for it.
Find it.
Find out what it is, what it wants.
And he moved on, moving towards the rim... Where something... strange had been detected.
Something new.

Species 1 now has 100 systems under its control and is busy acquiring another 20. It has also constructed 4 of the largest vessels it has the designs for. They are 45km in length, 5km in height and 15km in width. These massive constructs can travel suprisingly fast and contain numerous weapons. It also features 50.000 drones and 10 scout vessels. Power is provided for by 4 quantum singularity generators. They are called Restructors.

At the outskirts of one of the hundred systems, at the outskirts of the sector Species 1 controls
A blur in the darkness, hardly noticeable, and there it was, a black shadow, looking like a hybrid of a spider and your worst nightmare, it faded out from the red currents of hyperspace, entering the dark, cold realm of what is known as 'normal' space.
It begun to move forward, quickly gaining velocity as it accelerated with almost insane speed, heading towards the system where something... new had been noticed by the eye.
It was spreading fast, and it wanted to know more.
And as the enslaved, yet concious mind of Wierden directed the ship through the eternal sadness, the chaotic currents of the eye, it sent out its message...
It wanted to know what they wanted, the new people who were here...
It wanted to know more...
It wanted to know anything there was to be known.
And it continued its flight, quickly, soon, the inhabitants would notice it, even if they would choose to ignore its message... its question...
What do you want?

There they are... It thought, feeling tireless, invulnerable, cruelly ripping off Jeanne Cavallos.
Its, or rather his, circuits were running smoothly, almost perfect, and it detected them easy enough. Apparently, this people weren´t great fans of stealthyness.
Which, in all likelyhood, was useful for its mission.
A vessel was approaching, however, he couldn´t yet make out its hostile intentions... If they were indeed hostile, which it could hardly know.
And since he carried a few rather important people, he didn´t want to risk his destruction, though he was one of the strongest of his kind...
He matched his velocity with the velocity of the approaching vessel, keeping a parallel course, sending out the message.
We want to meet. Your kind is... unknown, to us. We have valuable... information for you, should you be interested. We will come on board, should you wish it.

Guys, with regard to that intergalactic intrusion [DiaGlyph], it looks like there might be a situation forming. One local near-Sublimed community [DiaGlyph] may be taking an interest; I made one of their navbeacons in the Bleed interface. Actually I think they may be more interesting in the long run for hovering near Sublimation in the long run, possibly gigayears.
FWIW, I've dumped a fabricator into a Big Red about 300 years off, so if anyone wants a local presence it should be spitting shipchassis inside a couple of weeks.
Shipchasses. Whatever. Ponderous Thalassic Pontificator, I can just hear you whining. Come to think of it, I'm putting a filter on the fabricator, you and your meatsex-buddies will just have to haul ass over here if you want a piece. I'm not building ships for you guys to xox into.

You shall judge it, though we will need information about you, too.
He didn´t say anythign else, but something left his body... a ship, of sorts, too large to be a fighter, most likely an oversized shuttle. It was sleek, triangular, black, though certainly of a different kind than the vessel that had carried it.
Where the vast, black ship, almost three km in diameter, showed definite signs of a living organism, where it was a living organism, a sentient being, this smaller vessel just carried a sad echo of life. And while some things on it seemed to be based on the vast vessel it came from, it was still decidedly different... Far less advanced, though still good enough.
It headed towards the Species 1 vessel, fast, on a steady course, soon, it would be there... Certainly small enough to fit in one of its shuttlebays.
A whisper, strange, foreign, threatening, could be heard inside of the small ship.
"Yes."
Another whisper.
"We will take care of it." The man saying that, certainly a human, nodded, looking at another being... an alien, covered in a hard, grey skin. It nodded back.
However, the origin of the whisper couldn`t be seen.
"Well... We`re almost there." The man stood up, grabbing his staff, the grey alien, wearing a gray robe, looking almost like silk, though there was some kind of... thing on it, it was delicate... strange. "Lets go."
The grey alien nodded.

A green light now came from a point on the vessel which slowly swept over the small craft. It deciced to see what they were planning. That this was some kind of trap was now becoming more likely.
Suddenly a small part of the hull suddenly opened to reveal a small room that could fit the small craft and give any occupants room to step out of it. There were no doors or any other openings visible.
OOC: could i have an OOC list of who is on the shuttle and what species?

He can be assimilated, should you intend to do it.
One Technomage (Iri Hisim). Very wanky. I doubt he can be assimilated, though there would be effects (E.g. his ability to heal his wounds is reduced, due to his body already being busy with nanites, same goes for concentration, and possibly for his ability to control his tech, aka more complicate spells aren´t possible).
One shadow, invisible, though noticeable in other ways. Only partly organic, not assimilatable.
The ship entering yours is a technomage ship, fairly advanced, but far from being perfect, you should be able to deal with it, should problems arise. The other ship is another matter entirely.]

Incidentally, it wasn`t exactly a trap. They wanted information, yes, but their intentions were not necessarily hostile... They would need to know more, first. Perhaps... Just perhaps, this new... people would be a... useful acquisition.
As they entered the foreign... different vessel, darkness covered them... It didn`t matter.
And a couple minutes later, they left their ship, now finally being able to appreciate... the vessel they had entered. It was a fascinating, though a slightly threatening view.
Well... They would see what would happen next, Iri being the one that would most likely do the... talking, though he was already struggling with control... IC: It scanned their vessel and them extensively. Only one of the species was indentifiable while the other two were unknown. It was also very hard to get good readings of the invisible one. It could only tell it was there because of the pressure on the floor were it was standing. It decided to begin the conversation.

The (sr)ROU Planes of Communication skips around several of the lower hyperspace bands in a manner that uses a huge amount of energy but is actually very useful when it comes to hiding its emissions. It keeps establishing points of view into the peculiar space where the Shadow ship travels, bound for Species 1's general volume.
Actually, it's a bit of a smug bastard. It tosses out a fabricator package on a course for a red giant several lightcenturies off, and makes sure not to know which red giant. Then it makes very sure to take thorough precautions up to and including letting friends keep close tabs on it with the equivalent of a large handgun pointed at an organic head.
Or rather, a remote control pointed at an organic's bomb vest.
...Will try to avoid getting subsumed, but I'm duping my mindstate and CCing remote-destruct codes with this to some pals. Ta!
Then the Shadow vessel moves to realspace... and there is a wake consistent with a Species 1 ship bouncing off the Shadow's shift signature. Well, this was the reason the Planes has followed the Shadow...
Very carefully, the ROU lets probes seep down into "normal" space... far off, well past any normal observer's range. Not that it'll be able to see much, but it will be able to get closer looks once it's made contact.
The ship feels very smug indeed.
Then certain quantum states collapse in the manner quantum states do when observed.
Five hundred tons of hyperspatial optical computronium makes a very organic expletive.

The Planes keeps up its vigil. From lightmonths out, the sensors can do little more than evaluate ships. The Species 1 ship is about as subtle as a brick, the Shadow is... another matter.
The warship ponders the sensors shown by the Species 1 envoy, and the apparent engagement ranges of its armaments. Nearsighted, shortarmed, quite consistent with typical replicator swarms.
Now, the Shadow and those volumes that entirely resists passive sensors... and that the ROU suspects would resist its scans if the ROU was literally humping the titan's hull, active sensors blazing...
Well, at least I'm still here? Or am I?
The Planes spends several picoseconds reprising Descartes.
Then it accelerates several probes inward at a few modest thousands of kilolights.

Meanwhile at the edge of their territory their sensor grid picked up the advancing fourth fleet and forces were dispatched to meet this unknown faction.

Iri took out a a crystal. "The data you requested." He ddin´t say anythign else.
It was... sorta valuable. The galaxy was big, and it included significant data regarding basic structures, politics, even a few technologies... Though they had been careful not to give their own stuff away.

OOC: the Space currently under control by Species 1 is only 145 systems although in the end Species 1 will encompass this entire galaxy. We have patience.
IC: After the 'guests' had left, the cube watched as the ship moved away and seemed to fade away into hyperspace.
Not long there after 10 individuals in system 1 gathered to discuss what they had learned and how they would act.
Voice 1:
"Final analysis of their demonstrated capabilities. They seem to be using hyperspace to trafel at FTL speeds. Acquiring that particular technology should become a priority. Our vessel had a hard time determining their combat capabilities as well as what they use as a power source. We can conclude however that the main ship was of non-humanoid design and probably belongs to Species 2871.
Their technology is biomechanic in nature which makes its less useful to us but it is advanced. We have also concluded that it is Species 2871 that dominates Species 2870 and at least one faction of Species 2866. The Human had something interesting in his body. They were some kind of primitive nanites that seemed to have the purpose of bolstering its immuunsystem.
We have also compared the main ship with all ships encountered in this galaxy. We managed to find a partial match with a ship that made a brief passage through system 2-104651(OOC:Sol). That ship used similar biomechanical technology but its overal design is distinct enough to determine that it belonged to a different species. It has been named Species 2872 but we do not know what their relation with Species 2871 is or if they have even met each other.
We have also observed their behaviour and we assess the possibility that they will not interfere in our affairs at 20%."
Voice 2: "Then it is clear what our policy should be. We have already mapped 65% of this galaxy so their territory must lie beyond it. That they have a ship this far out means that they are hiding. For us or for some one else, it makes no difference. Our policy should be to capture one of their crafts and thus learn everything we want to know. Their territory is to far anyway to harm us before we have grown strong enough to resist any attack."
All the other voices: "Agreed."
Voice 5: "And if something goes wrong we will simply blame it on the misled actions of one individual. They don not know the truth about us anyway."
