Yeah...Im interested in RPing a few new ship-classes in combat to get a general idea of how they perform.
The wargame will be of the 'real' sort, that is everything will be real, but have no effect on anything outside of its own little micro-universe.
The weapons, ships and all that will be real, the 'war' will be real, but outside of this topic it wont ICly exist.
M'kay?
General rules/Info:
-No godmoddishness
-No deploying half of your fleet, unless your a small nation that needs the extra ships to compete.
-The combat will take place in the DGNT owned system of Dominus, newly conqoured, so there are few fortifications.
-Dominus has 12 planets, with two double planets and lots of moons. The sun is similar to Sol, but slightly older, and beggining to enter the 'green' phase of its life.
-The only fortifications are on Dominus III, a mining colony, they are fairly light, a single heavy turbolaser and a few smaller guns, as well as a garrison of thirty fighters.
-There may or may not be teams. It depends on how many people join.
OOC: Tag, and let me guess, you're trying out a few of the classes you bought from me? Feel free to TG me if you need any questions about them answered.

Right now I have a few of just about everybodys ships, but yeah, I was also going to try out the new classess I made now, namely the Basher and Spider classes.
Artillary fighters, should be interesting.
DGNT, sounds fun. Mind if I get involved? If it's okay, please give me some idea of what size force to send.
Information (most of it outdated, though) on my ships is here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=88433)
I've played with you before, but I'd gladly do it again. My vessel list (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=101823&start=1) has changed quite a bit since then, though.

For size I was thinking something like ten-fourty ships apiece, not counting fighters and small corvettes (Anything under 100 meters, in my book anyway).
Anyway, heres what I've got so far:
Red Team:
DGNT
Guanyu
Blue Team:
Xanthal
Ill take up to three more people to avoid size related problems. If the teams are uneven we can reduce the max-force size for the team with more members.

TAG i like to play too my fleet is like Vernii with HH tech, we are a tad quicker, have more missiles (useally) but less energy mounts but those we have hit a LOT harder. info can be found here http://f5.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/8PyGQNwEw8IU_z3lgj-COLARJ2vjWgFLEyd0fCJ2Ca6rmbKeuTcwsqcNrRVXSITBRbi4iwuJRsdW-hSVsHSPtw/Commonwealth%20Navy/Ship%20Data

Guanyu
Blue:

Shall we start? Space for two more, but they can come in as 'reinforcements' or something.
The fewer people we need to depend on to show up consistantly the better.

But anyway, your ideas are perfectly acceptable, and I know (well...sort of) you to be a fairly consistent RPer with a good record.

3 Spotter class
2 Hive class
4 Victory class
15 Pax class

After reviewing Guanya's stats (those ARE big ships), I think I'm going to have to side with Blue. The largest ship I have is the Skeelzot at 3km, most average around 300. Hopefully this won't throw off the balance.

OOC:
Right.
Now....
IC:
The DGNT System Defence Force made another lazy orbit above Dominus XII, nothing was really happening, not in a backwater system like this.
Of course, it was a backwater system with 'Immense mineral wealth', at least according to their officers.
But...
A drone on the outer edges of the system, which was happily not endowed with artificial intelligence, noticed something.
The tiny processors blinked, and microscopic relays flipped back and forth, after a few seconds of 'thought' it sent a message to a 'thinking' computer.
This one mulled things over.
Suddenly, an internal red light blinked, and the computer issued a priority battlestations alert.
Up on the ships men glanced around, startled by the alarms that had not been used in almost a year.
The shock faded quickly though, and soon the choas became organized.
"What in the HELL is goin' on here?"
"Dunno. Maybe 'sa drill."
"Drill? What the fuck'r we spendin' four hours a day in the bloody sims for then? Psh, last drill I 'member seein was inna movie."
"Well, do you have a better explanation? Pirates, possibly."
"Pirates? They're mobilizin the whole fuckin' fleet for a bloody pirate? Damn officers."
On the flight decks of a few ships pilots scurried like ants. They, being of slightly more open mind, didnt compain. They eyed the new ships they had recently seen, big, with what looked like six thrusters on the front, around a central gun of some sort. They were all black as well, which was also odd, most fighters were silver or dun coloured, since sensors these days were so good that camoflage hardly mattered, except in stealth ships. But these did not look stealth.
They were left behind soon however, and soon space around the huge capitol ships flickered with tiny shapes.
OOC: I really hope you're not going to shoot us with live ammunition, now... If you did I might have to hurt you.

Its live, its just not in this universe.
This wargame is taking place in a theoretical parallel universe where everything is exactly the same as it is in the 'real' universe with the exception of everything that happens ICly beyond my last post.
OOC: Meh... Whatever. I guess I can deal with that.
IC: The Xanthalian fleet leads its allies towards its objective, closing to one million kilometers from the outer planet's orbit and moving in at 0.05c.
The fleet leader, the giant Eclipse class ship, hails the rest of the fleet. "We have been detected by the enemy. All weapons and shields to full. Prepare for engagement."

"Are sensors picking up anything?"
"No sir. I'm not sure what the Xanthalians are talking about." The intelligence officer mentally cursed the outdated sensors. Having a three-kilometer ship was pointless if it was practically blind.
Admiral Levisk frowned as well. The Xanthals had better sensor equipment than any Skeelzanian ship, he would have to assume they were correct in their information. "We'll just have to take it on faith then. Comms, signal the fleet to begin their advance. All ships are to bring weapons to full power."
The seven massive engines of the Baad Skeelzot thundered to life as the fleet warmed up. They had quietly dropped out of hyperspace several hours earlier and waited for thier allies to arrive. Now that Xanthal was on the scene, the task force began to creep forward in space. They never exceeded more than 3 tenths the speed of light, thanks to the incredible bulk of the Skeelzot. Slowly they fell into position on the Xanthal flank and advanced towards the outer planets.

"Sir, it looks like we have company, fiftey to sixtey ships, it looks like, on the outside of the system. The last planet is in the way, so there could be more. Orders, sir?"
"Form up around the Third planets, and power up the shield and ground defences for what their worth. Have the Watchers launch nanoprobes, lets get a look at who were fighting."
"Yessir."
Five microscopic cameras made their way forward. While they were enourmosly diffuclt to control, only got a single picture on average, and were quite expensive, they were worth it.
All five shot past the enemy fleet, took pictures from five seperate angles, and beamed a quick signal through hyperspace to the DGNT flagships computer.
There it was assembled into something that would be acceptable to a normal human eye and presented to the commanders of all the starships.
"I think...we should call for help."
"Err...yeah."
A few moments later a wide-beam transmitter started beeping.
Meanwhile the Fleet was forming up around the planets. Most of the ships were inside the planets shield, which extended about fourty miles above the atmosphere. It was old, out of date, and proboably only kept running because all the coffee spilled on it replaced wires.
It sputtered to life, flickered once or twice, but held. For how long...nobody really knew.
"Captain Harn to the bridge."
The Captain, who had been sleeping, heard the blaring voice over the comm and got out of bed. Quickly getting dressed, he left his room and entered the main corridor, his two bodyguards falling into position behind him. When he reached the bridge, his second in command explained why he had been awakened.
"Sir, approximately nine minutes ago we recieved a distress call from a ship in a nearby sector reporting an attack. The call originated from a DGNT ship, sir."
Harn thought for a moment. "We have to go. We're obligated by Regulation 46. Get the fleet underway and ready the men for battle."
"Yes, Sir." Harn's second in command, Kommandant Kraster, gave the orders to the helmsman and signaled the fleet. Within seconds the ECP engines had activated and they were on their way to the location of the ensuing battle. It did not take long to reach the system. When they had arrived, a broadcast message was transmitted from Harn's flagship, the Descartes. It was as follows:
"Dontgonearthere ships, we recieved your broadcast and have come to render assistance. Please tell us what we are up against."
Not trusting to an immediate response, Harn ordered a sensor sweep of the system. There were a suprising number of ships in the area. Some were of Xanthalian make, and others were of unknown origin.
"Battle alert, bring weapons and shields online and activate the PDW. Order the rest of the fleet to follow suit."
Harn leaned forward in his Captain's chair. He lived for this.

OOC: Sorry 'bout that, I was thinking about the wrong RP.
IC:
"Xanthalian ships, desist your unprovoked assault on the colony or we will not hesitate to fire on you."
Harn turned to his crew. "I doubt they'll listen. Admiral Hessov has a bad opinion of Xanthal, and he has a damn good reason for it. I wouldn't mind if they do force us to fire."
He smiled. "Oops, the transmission was still open there, wasn't it? How unfortunate. End transmission."

A massive blob appeared on the Skeelzot's long range scanners. "Sir! Unidentified fleet exiting FTL speeds and approaching Xanthal ships!"
"Do not panic, Intel. Have you any idea of who they are?" After a few minutes of fiddling some vague shapes and designations were aquired. Levisk tapped the arm of his chair anxiously.
"Reporting several ships of unknown make. Estimated length is up to eight kilometers for some of them. Various other ships of slighly smaller size accompying them....sir, we are picking up a transmission from the unknown ships."
"Patch it through to speakers."

"I don't suppose you could get a better interception of that, Intel."
"Er no sir. My apologies, sir."
"Continue to monitor the situation. Helm, continue on current heading. Comms, new orders for the fleet: All light ships are to shift position so that they are between the capital ships and the unidentified fleet. Once in position they will hold current heading until futher orders."
OOC: Well, Xanthal has never in its history launched an unprovoked attack on anyone; but I was too lazy to bother thinking up a backstory for this battle. Basically I'm thinking that this is like the Star Trek mirror universe of Xanthal; with the evil empire and such. Anyway...
IC: The Xanthalian ships make final preparations for battle. It was going to be a hard fight, and the odds were against them. Playing offense was difficult, but it had to be done from time to time. The commander of the fleet, Admiral Knives (because Trigun rules), broadcasts a message to the system. "Attention all vessels and installations defending this system! I am Admiral Knives of the Xanthalian Imperial Armada! In the name of Empress Fina the second this system has been claimed by the Xanthalian Empire! If you surrender now we will allow you to leave unharmed! If you choose to fight, you will die!"

"Fire the main guns."
"OH...bugger."
The main guns on the Piledriver class ship power up breifly, its not a powerful shot, but its big and looks good.
About ten seconds later a rather large blast of light streams across space, dissipating about ten miles in front of the Xanthalian fleet.
"Open a channel to the Xanthal fleet..."
"Open, begin....now."
"That was a warning shot, the next one will be fully charged. If you turn around now and leave the system we can all just forget about this. If you dont your going to end up as toasters."

"DGNT fleet has fired over the Xanthal's bows sir."
"Hmm. No one seems to have paid any attention to us. Excellent." The Skeelzanian fleet slowly dropped away from Xanthal's; its ships once again reshuffling themselves. Now the capital ships had formed into a wedge with the corvettes and gunboats flanking them. Looping around the planet, the fleet settled into position several thousand miles from the DGNT forces. Not close enough to be an immeinent threat, but close enough so that they could close the distance rapidly.
The Xanthalian admiral watches the Skeelzanian vessels. "Looks like our allies are in position to back us up nicely. I just hope they don't wuss out. We can't do this without them." The Xanthalian fleet continues advancing, deploying its slipfighters to a forerunning position.
