The Gulf States cracks down on a couple religions.

The Gulf States

The Gulf States has some religious freedom. We can at least say that. We just monitor the country, to make sure our nationals aren't being sucked into lies and cults.

Several independent task forces working for the government have aided into the arrest of several low profile religious leaders. Torvald Roale of Orange, Rutland, was arrested for starting up a Jehovah's Witnesses hall in a strip mall on West 17th Avenue. The place used to be a former greeting card store, until it moved in 2002. He had been going around the streets of Orange and neighboring suburbs trying to promote his church, but an informant turned his name over to Rutland State Police. Roale and most of his followers, if convicted, will be sentenced under The Gulf States Penal Code 1036c - mandatory deportation to a country accepting their asylum.

Another one falling under PC 1036c include Ibrahim Morahamed, a sheik at al Sambra mosque in Flordis City. Although Islam is not banned in The Gulf States, it only has a few thousand members in the country. Morahamed was promoting the idea of an Islamic state in Southeast Mainland Territory, and touting off the notion of using jihad to obtain it. A few of his major supporters will also be thrown out of the country if convicted.

Finally, Dayton city police have arrested Carlos Rodriguez. He claims to have been in an agreement with Sun Yung Moon to start up a Moonie church (OOC: if I'm correct, Unitarian Univeralist) "where Daytona meets Las Vegas." He was unsuccessful in finding a building, and only had a few church members meeting in his basement.

------------

Official Statement from The Gulf States Government. Under TGS Penal Code 1036c, we are obliged to deport any person promoting religious activity illegal in The Gulf States. Touting Islamic jihad, or the formation of Jehovah's Witness and Moonie temples are illegal. Thus, we are looking for nations to take these unwanted religious authorities. We just ask that the accepting nations treat them humanely and ensure basic human and civil rights.

Any takers?

We will gladly take all but the Jihads.
