OOC: I'm always hearing people complain about how people don't give enough attention to Logistics on NS when designing their Armed Forces, so I've decided to make my Armed Forces more realistic by factoring in a Logistics Division. The only problem with this is that I don't understand Logistics very well, and can't seem to learn it very good on my own. I'm looking for help from someone who can help me design an effective, organized, efficient Logistics Division, and I also need said Logistics Division to enable my Combat Units to fight as freely as possible, without worrying about rear-echelon units. Please post here if you want to help me.

sorry, i would try to help, but I have no idea where to start, I just try to make my armed forces coincide as closly as possible with what dictates my army's size. Maybe two or three days with a notebook would help. . .

figure a modern army its approx. 1:1 equation you need one guy in the rear for every guy in the front thats using all the latest technology and such. during the WWII era it was 8 people behind the lines for every soldier fighting at the front.

Air Force is basically pilots plus 4-6 people per aircraft.

Navy coming soon.

sorry, If I were to undertake that sort of thing for myself, I would spend two or three days with a notebook crunching numbers to come up with the logistics of my forces. Planning cost per unit, cost of production, salaries, equipment, transport, fuel, aramanets etc. . .

Once I had all those numbers, expand it to the biggest size you can based upon your military budget (given by the GDP calculators) and find out what you can afford.
