Real Libertad's dream season is continuing in fine fashion, as they opened up the FALE cup with a solid 3-1 victory over CCL "D". Lionel Whidby, the recently transferred Neverton attacker, finally garnered with the chance to play for a competant club, is doing wonders with the Crimson and Gold, this time scoring a hat-trick for his new club. Whidby's finest goal was his third, a perfectly timed run upfield to match a solid lob by Jackovia to beat out the offside call. Whidby then caressed the ball with his feet, waited for the CCL "D" keeper to commit to a direction, then shimmied aside him and chipped the ball into the open net.
With the 3-0 lead, Real Libertad took their foot off the gas a bit and allowed the CCLians to score a consolation goal in the 87th Minute. That goal marred an otherwise fine performance by Audioslavian goaltender, James Scott. Despite having the home crowd advantage, CCL "D"'s play matched the kind you would expect from a team whose names come from initials, not great.
Real Libertad will try to carry their momentum to their next game, where they'll face a Melmond City Blues team who just got smoked, or a Kaza X-Teem who just smoked the Melmond City Blues. A win by Real Libertad would likely assure that they would progress to the knockout round of the FALE cup.

Congradulaions, aland celebrations
Machinegrad wallop Belmore's finest
Seventy-seven million quids worth of the finest players Belmorian money could buy were wiped off the field yesterday by a Machinegrad team playing their first match against foreign opposition.
Both sides played in a way similar to their national teams, and as both nations have a fame for fast-paced games, the first twenty minutes so both sides go at one another in a search for a quick goal.
Neither side achieved this, the closest chance falling to Fosam Smith who clipped his through-ball round the post.
Machinegrad looked to have the more possesion as the half wore on, but they seemed inable to make any impact on the game. Half-time came and went 0-0, until the second-half started, and some Belmorian floodgates opened.
Two goals in the first two minutes gave Machinegrad an impressive lead and stunned Alan City into a daze. Xavier scored the first after raking home a Ward cross, and scored the second a minute later, racing onto a Declan Riley ball, chipping the ball over Mike Austen and lobbing the Alan City goalkeeper for 2-0
Alan City's fight-back looked dangerous, but only in patches, as the 'Grad defence held firm despite the mammoth presence of a man bearing the shirt-name 'Belmore' up front.
With 20 minutes left Alan City finally got their break-through. Belmore got the ball with space, and finding no defenders willing to come to the ball, took pleasure in whipping it round the goalkeeper and into the top corner from thirty yards.
The Alans looked determined, and Machinegrad looked tired, but within five minutes the 'Grad had somehow re-taken their two-goal advantage.
Belmore again got the ball on the edge of the area, only this time Yorath and Hyndes closed him down and forced him wide. The cross was meant for a hungry-looking Fosam Smith racing into the box, but Jamie Edwards dove in and headed the ball away towards Ward.
Paul Ward, veteran of three Audioslavian world cups and officially the fastest Audioslavian sportsman ever recorded, ran. He sprinted straight past a flummoxed Mike Austen and bore down towards goal. Imilda closed the gap and Ward's shot was straight at him, but the ball rebounded back out to a waiting Xavier who flicked the ball in for 3-1.
Alan City's heads dropped, and the once-raving Belmorian crowd dulled to almost silence. Machinegrad held their lead against a downheartened Alan City side, and took the game 3-1
Final Score
Alan City 1 (Belmore 72)
Machinegrad 3 (Xavier 45, 46, 74)
Starless Troopers
Despite Abundance of Goals, Lack of World Class Players Makes Game Boring
LIVERPOOL ENGLAND-- One has to wonder the mindframe of the people who scheduled this club tournament at the same time the World Cup and the Cup of Harmony were happening. Most of the world-class players on both the Melmond City Blues and the Kaza X-Teem were representing their country at one of those two cups. Kaze Progressa was the big winner today and Melmond being the big loser as the Kaze Progressa national team beat Melmond 4-nil at the Cup of Harmony and the starless Melmond City Blues lose to the starless Kaza X-Teem 4-1. There is actually one star player on the Melmond City Blues, naturalized citizen Mornakh the Bloody Handed, who was able to play for the club team after Warnocks Wizards was penalized 80 points for ceasing to exist. He scored the only Melmond City Blues goal. Quite basically, Kaza X-Teem is a much deeper side than the Melmond City Blues. It is to be expected as football is much more popular in Kaze Progressa than in Melmond and the fact that the Melmond Premier League is only 2 years old.

FALE Invitational Gets Underway
Yuba Utd starts with a draw, Salamanders yet to play
LIVERPOOL ENGLAND -- The invitational tournament celebrating the 50th birthday of the Football Association of Liverpool England started today in (of all places) Liverpool England. Seventeen teams are participating in the tournament, divided into two groups of five, one group of four, and one group of three. Two Bedistani teams are involved in the tournament -- former perennial champions now fallen from grace Yuba United, and the resurgent Graceville Salamanders, finally starting to return to the upper parts of the First Division after about a fifteen-year absence.
The groups look like this:
Group A
Orean (LEN)
Radioactive City (TUI)
Machinegrad (AUD)
Alan City (TBF)
Graceville (BED)
Group B
Infectious Laughter (TUI)
Schimpol (LEN)
Wibin Rovers (TBF)
Yuba United (BED)
Barcoenfuego (KIN)
Group C
CCL 'D' (2) (LEN)
Real Libertad (BRZ)
Melmond City Blues (MEL)
Kaza X-Teem (KZP)
Group D
Watakisikis (LEN)
Al-Johari (LEN)
Megalopolis City FC (OGL)
Graceville started off with a bye today and did not play. Yuba United, on the other hand, started off with a match against Wibin Rovers. United was without several of its star players, with senior and U21 World Cups in progress, and as a result Megan Bream, daughter of ex-international Olivia Bream, got her first start for the club in goal. Bream certainly didn't have the best outing, giving up three goals to the Belmorian team. However, Jack Lewis and Aaron Johnson, sons of former international strikers Johnny Lewis and Alicia Johnson respectively, have managed to develop a rather strong team bond at the front and put on quite a show for Wibin Rovers, managing to respond with three goals of their own. It was quite a match, and the final score of 3-3 very well reflected the roughly equal matchup.
In other Group A news (Graceville's group), Total n Utter Insanity's Radioactive City defeated Orean on their home ground 4-3, while the infamous Alan City was trounced by Machinegrad 3-1. Meanwhile in Group B, another TnUI club beat another Liverpool club, as Schimpol fell to Infectious Laughter, also by the score of 4-3. Kingsford's Barcoenfuego had a bye.
It is not known at this time which clubs United and Graceville play next, but we will keep you updated.

With goalkeeping prodigy Robert Jones leaving for Alan City last week, Machinegrad were always going to struggle. Jones' replacement was one Andy Davies, Audioslavia's WC9 reserve goalkeeper and Machinegrad goalkeeping coach.
Neutral supporters would have bee rooting for Davies as the old-dude come-good, but Orean, playing on home soil and looking for a win after their dissapointing 4-3 defeat last week, were on form. The number seven scored after fifteen minutes when newboy Mike Austen struggled to clear a loose ball on the wing, instead finding an Orean striker who let the number seven through for 1-0. Austen almost made up for his mistake twenty minutes later when a Cullum through-ball found him on the wing. Austen's cross was inch-perfect, but Welsh's timing wasn't, and the ball ballooned over the bar.
Machinegrad looked like equalizing just before half-time, but some resoloute defending and quick counter-attacking saw Orean pull away 2-0 through a superb run and finish again by the Orean number 7.
Orean took the initiative from half-time, buoyed by their goal, but over time Machinegrad fought back and by seventy-minutes, looked on top. Xavier connected with another Austen cross and headed home for 2-1, and for a while it looked like Machinegrad would earn themselves a draw. Xavier hit the bar with a volley and Cullum had a shot brilliantly tipped over the bar by the Orean goalkeeper.
However, the more the 'Grad tried, the less they looked like succeeding, and in the second minute of injury time with the 'Grad players tiring, Orean countered again. The number nine put the number eleven through on goal, but as he went to round Davies, the old goalkeeper wildly swung at the LE striker and brought him down. Davies was yellow-carded, and the number seven converted the penalty for his hat-trick.
Final Score

Two matches in, Graceville hold the record for least defeats, least wins, least draws, least goals scored, least points and least goals conceded! Radioactive City are top, which is surprising as they are from TnUI. Orean are second after their win over Machinegrad, the 'Grad themselves go third, whilst Alan City stay second from bottom, ahead of Graceville by virtue of having actually played a game of football. Graceville lie four points off of the top, although they do have all of [i]two[i] games in hand on the rest of the league.

Megalopolis City F.C. blunder
Oglethorpia's top Division 1 club succumbs to 4th Division side
By Bill Christmas
LIVERPOOL ENGLAND (BT) -- Truly a wonder in Liverpool England that riots did not ensue following the Megalopolis City F.C. - Watakisikis F.C. matchup that saw the reigning champs of the Oglethorpian Division 1 championship lose to the 4th Division Liverpool English squad.
"I don't know what even happened out there," said an astonished Guy Picciotto after the match.
Picciotto fielded the team's regular starting 11 (as seen below) and opened up strongly.

Megalopolis City was on top of Watakisikis as soon as the 9th minute. A slick midfielding machine on the part of the Oglethorpian side set up Niles Wells who sent the ball to Torrence Black, beating the keeper with ease and scoring his first of the tournament. Picciotto's defense saw action just minutes latter -- but the Watakisikis attempt on goal was thwarted by Jim am Guude, credited with a well placed tackle that ended the run.
Am Guude's brother, Mick am Guude would later try to replicate his brother's attempt while on defense -- while the run was brought to a halt, M. am Guude earned himself a yellow in the process. The free kick was easily blocked by a towering Samson Grey (who lends his defending efforts to the Wonderteam) and things would soon go to the half ending a rather boring 1st half.
Watakisikis F.C. struck early and hard in the opening minutes of the second half -- Megalopolis seeming rusty after the break. Running up the sides drove deep into the Megalopolis City F.C. backfield, and the am Guude brothers had no chance once the cross was in the air -- converted by a diving Watakisikis forward putting the ball past Yamamoto-san.
Megalopolis attempted to gain the upper hand again just minutes later -- though it was foiled a sloppy pass from Maximillian is Immer never made its way to Torrence Black and was cleared away with ease.
Watakisikis saw two more chances on Ken'Ichi Yamamoto, who redeemed himself somewhat after letting one by with two spectacular diving saves.
Despite Yamamoto's best efforts to keep the opponents goals to one, Megalopolis City would not score another to take back the lead.
In fact, the 78th minute saw a second goal on the part of Watakisikis when a corner was handily struck in from upfront.
Yamamoto-san was comforted and attempted to rally the troops -- but Megalopolis made nothing of the remaining 22 minutes to make a comeback. With the fulltime whistle came a startling defeat for the Division 1 champs Megalopolis City F.C., having lost to a Liverpool English 4th Division team.
"All I can say is this," said Guy Picciotto. "It doesn't say so much about Watakisikis so much as it does about us -- that we need to get back on our game and beat that other team."
"We really sucked," said team captain and forward Torrence Black. "A loss against a 4th Division team is really a bummer. We're the last champs of the Division 1 Cup, and yet we still managed it...totally boggling. We just gotta come back at the best of our effort."

The Starless Troopers Saga Continues
LIVERPOOL ENGLAND-- It appears that the Melmond City Blues are finally getting used to the atmosphere of international club football tournaments. They may have lost, but the Melmond City Blues who are without all their star players except one have improved greatly. This match was more even as their opponent CCL 'D' (2) was also a side made up of reserves. So basically it was the battle of the second fiddles as CCL 'D' (2) with the countrymen on their side eventually overtook the Melmond City Blues. Naturalized Melmondian Mornakh the Bloody Handed scored the two goals in the game for the Melmond City Blues. Real Libertad of Brazillico should be next and the Melmond City Blues are heavy underdogs.
In other news, the Melmond National Team is in the thick of things in the Cup of Harmony with their two latest wins!
