A Day in the Life of a World Leader

New York and Jersey

It was an overcast sky in New York City, the capital of New York and New Jersey. Gregory was just entering the dining room for breakfest, where his latest female interest was already. Sitting at one end of the table silently enjoying the breakfest of bacon, eggs, sasuage, and pancakes. Sitting himself down at the other end of the table Gregory picked up his mug and poured himself a cup of coffee. Adding the cream and two sugars he went on to pick up the newspaper as well. The woman spoke up now, she was a a slender red head with a cute face, and endearing personality, "Gregory dear, you do know tts rude to read the newspaper at the breakfest table?" Gregory's eyes didnt move away from the newspaper as he took another sip from his mug of coffee before responding. "I know."

Dorothy waited watching silently for any hint of movement in Greg. The paper still in his hands though was the only thing that moved occassionally as Gregory flipped through the Wall Street Journal. When it was obvious he wasnt going to put the paper down, Dorothy sat up and put her napkin down on the table and stood up. She let out a small hmph and walked off. Greg caught the movement out of the corner of his eye and watched her move away. In the back of his mind he thought to himself, "I really need to stop sleeping with these mannerbound socialites." Gregory would later regret not listening to her. He neglected his breakfest for a cup of coffee and it wasnt exactly a good thing to do with a busy schedule ahead of him.

"Mr. Santos.." No one inside of the Palace called him your Majesty, it just didnt feel right to him. And since he was no longer President, they couldnt call him that either. So he settled for his last name, "...Your Press Secretary and your Cheif of Staff wish to speak with you before the days events begin." Gregory only responded with a few mumbled curses. He knew it probably just was another discussion over the days events. He knew what they entitled. A ribbon cutting, a greeting of people, a ceremony here and there. A law signed there and here...it was a routine day in the State. Well mostly routine day, and he was reminded of this as the thunderous noise of jets passing overhead caused vibrations in the ground beneath him.

Standing up he moved out of the dining area thinking to himself, "Oh thats right, we're still expecting a counter attack arent we...Well guess its for the best that we stay prepared for the time being. But must they really fly so close to the ground?" Shaking his head Gregory stepped back into his luxurious room to get dressed for the day ahead. DOrothy was already there getting dressed herself. Looking over toward Gregory she gave a small smile toward him and disappeared into the bathroom. "Shame she is such a priss sometimes. she still is rather cute." He sighed and disappeared into the walkin closet for a suit. His day had just begin, and it already was starting on a mixed note.

It was 8:30 now, nearly an hour since he had woken up, had his breakfest and gotten dressed. Dorothy was gone. She had to do her pomp and circumstance of meeting with her other friends. Gregory was definately mixed about her. But then again the past few months had gone from waiting for the perfect to screwing the semi-decent. He was a single male world leader...he was going to start using the perks that came with it. Checking himself in the mirror, he made sure his uniform was neat and trim. The country was under a military alert. So he was dressed accordingly like the leader of the nations military. Checking his watch, time went fast it seemed, already five minutes had passed, and it would only be five more till the morning OSS breifing.

Stepping from out of his room, he leisurely made his way to the breifing room. He could afford to be late, everyone else was always there early. It took him a good fifteen minutes to get to the breifing room and get himself situated in his chair. "Okay folks...what do you have for me today?" The breifing began, Gregory sitting on one side, the Director of OSS Field Operations, the Director of OSS Internal Security and then the Assistant Directors to both. While the two Directors took their turns breifing Gregory was off in his own world. Nodding his head every now and then, he acted as if he was really paying attention. Deep in the recesses of his mind however he more or less payed attention to the upcoming party. It had been quite some time, since NYNJ held one. Decades it seemed. His mind replayed that terrible day over and over and he didnt like the thought of it happening again.

That is what this meeting mostly focused on. Any internal, or external threat to the party had been put under the watchful eye of the OSS. While Gregory wished to be kept informed, he found himself wanting to know less and less by the minute. Hence why his mind wandered. Of course the upcoming Spring Ball wasnt the only thing on the agenda, reprisal attacks from the nation of Allanea were also discussed. A document was passed over to Gregory which detailed all possible scenerios and their responses. From the most mundane political yelling, to the most extreme, terrorism on a wide scale. "Have you considered another act of state sponsored terrorism at the ball?" The two OSS directors looked alittle shocked, it was one of the things they had discussed, but it appears as if Gregory had not heard them at all. They were reluctant to correct him though, and just simply answered Yes.

"Good." The rest of the meeting was simply operational procedures, and small complaints over funding issues, and proposed new tactics. The new tactics included torture, which always needed the approval of Gregory before they could be implemented. He didnt believe in torturing the masses. He felt that a select few would always make a better example. Thus he kept the power to torture people strictly under his command. By the time the meeting was over, it was fifteen minutes till 10. Already Greg's mind wandered to when this day would end...there was still so much to do and so much time had already been wasted..."Someone save me from this tedium."

OOC: Sad to see Greg's decline in "private" morals...
