New York and Jersey

It was an overcast sky in New York City, the capital of New York and New Jersey. Gregory was just entering the dining room for breakfest, where his latest female interest was already. Sitting at one end of the table silently enjoying the breakfest of bacon, eggs, sasuage, and pancakes. Sitting himself down at the other end of the table Gregory picked up his mug and poured himself a cup of coffee. Adding the cream and two sugars he went on to pick up the newspaper as well. The woman spoke up now, she was a a slender red head with a cute face, and endearing personality, "Gregory dear, you do know tts rude to read the newspaper at the breakfest table?" Gregory's eyes didnt move away from the newspaper as he took another sip from his mug of coffee before responding. "I know."
Dorothy waited watching silently for any hint of movement in Greg. The paper still in his hands though was the only thing that moved occassionally as Gregory flipped through the Wall Street Journal. When it was obvious he wasnt going to put the paper down, Dorothy sat up and put her napkin down on the table and stood up. She let out a small hmph and walked off. Greg caught the movement out of the corner of his eye and watched her move away. In the back of his mind he thought to himself, "I really need to stop sleeping with these mannerbound socialites." Gregory would later regret not listening to her. He neglected his breakfest for a cup of coffee and it wasnt exactly a good thing to do with a busy schedule ahead of him.
"Mr. Santos.." No one inside of the Palace called him your Majesty, it just didnt feel right to him. And since he was no longer President, they couldnt call him that either. So he settled for his last name, "...Your Press Secretary and your Cheif of Staff wish to speak with you before the days events begin." Gregory only responded with a few mumbled curses. He knew it probably just was another discussion over the days events. He knew what they entitled. A ribbon cutting, a greeting of people, a ceremony here and there. A law signed there and here...it was a routine day in the State. Well mostly routine day, and he was reminded of this as the thunderous noise of jets passing overhead caused vibrations in the ground beneath him.
Standing up he moved out of the dining area thinking to himself, "Oh thats right, we're still expecting a counter attack arent we...Well guess its for the best that we stay prepared for the time being. But must they really fly so close to the ground?" Shaking his head Gregory stepped back into his luxurious room to get dressed for the day ahead. DOrothy was already there getting dressed herself. Looking over toward Gregory she gave a small smile toward him and disappeared into the bathroom. "Shame she is such a priss sometimes. she still is rather cute." He sighed and disappeared into the walkin closet for a suit. His day had just begin, and it already was starting on a mixed note.
