Jade Halvent, President of Adejaani threw the briefing folder back on the desk. "Oh, what must I do today? How can I make my mark on the world without having someone else having done the same thing already a dozen times older. 'Declare war on everyone'; 'I fire off my nuclear arsenal at.....'; 'Homosexuals killed off'." Halvent read off the headlines on the pages of briefing folder.

"I'm tired of having Adejaani a minor power. I'm also sick of people thinking we're a bunch of back stabbing, insecure, spineless wimps." Halvent rubbed at her eyes. "Gotta be something which will put Adejaani on the world stage without pissing everyone off or having them declare war on us.

"Oh, who cares, just put out a call to the world to begin screening to open embassies, treaties, alliances, all the usual diplomatic crap that the rest of the world seems to do." Halvent ordered and sipped at her tea. "Who knows, we might find someone small enough to annex among the applicants.

I must correct myself. Currently, we are modern tech. The only sort of 'future' tech we will have is a space colony in the Ursa Major system, aided by Five Civilized Nations.

Our allies are mostly regional, Nanakaland, Super American VX Man, Exonerate, San Texario, and others.

Moments after receiving the repsonse, William's private CV-22I(P) was in the air, with Garret on board, along with his vehicle of choice for this meeting, a black BMW 7 Serries. The flight was short, and the CV-22I(P) landed at the hub at its designated spot, and the rear door opened, the black beamer rolling out, and onto the tarmac.

Gerret shifted the car into drive, and headed off towards a designated meeting area. While in traffic, Gerret made sure his suit was on properly, and his tie was straight.

The bulk of the economy typically eats processed foods, which are often specially remanufactured to increase protein/calorie and reduced fat content. This may sound absolutely cruel, but yes, Adejaani uses everything from genetics to selective breeding. Our 'livestock agriculture' generally consists of laboratories which can clone and then humanely (ie sleeping gas, then lethal injection), process the animals for use and appropriation for human consumption. Not sure if this is what you're after. One final note, Adejaani's population is almost 1.8 billion, plus almost another billion in our secondary nation, Magnia, so as far as scale goes, yes, significant.

Gerret smiled, an awkward smile to say the least, and shook the man's hand. "Always a pleasure." He looked around some more from where he stood, both sizing up Hammond and his suroundings, and then shrugged in a casual manner. "Well, your the one who lives here, so I'll let you lead the way," he said, leaning back slightly.

"Hmm. Well first of all, allow me to apologise, sir. Our two nations had gotten along well, but then your leaders went and butted heads with mine and things went downhill. There was a fair amount of opposition within the Adejaani government to try and properly mend the fence. Indeed, there was discrete rumblings about separating Imitora from APTO because you folks alone seem to disagree with almost everything we say." Hammond mumbled.

"However, I think that's a load of hooey. You folks in Imitora are alright and you're entitled to be difficult and opinionated. That's just how diplomacy works. Might not agree, might not get along, but you have to just zip your lips, grin and go with it." Hammond grinned evilly.

The Dominion of Skager is more then willing to open diplomatic ties with muffin, I mean, Adejaani.

We are open to trade agreements, mutual defence pacts and simple non-aggression pacts. Take your pick.

Senator Ace McClaren shall be sent to meet in Adejaani. His reputation in Euroslavia is very highly recognized, as he has been a Senator for 5 straight terms, and has raised an enormous amount of money for research on specific diseases such as leukemia and cancer.


"Ace, don't fail us now. This possible alliance with Adejaani is extremely important to us." said President Johnson.

With a look of complete seriousness, Ace responded, "Don't worry, Mrs. President, I've got everything under control."

Ace jumped into the plane that was going to take him to Adejaani. He had absolutely no worries about the meeting that was about to take place. He had a feeling that things would go extremely....well.

After a 2 hour flight, the aircraft began to approach Adejaani airspace...

"Well, short history of Adejaani. Where to begin? Our fair country of Adejaani was founded when Ticonderoga City (our capital) ceded from its parent nation. About five million citizens came with us, to flee the crime, horror, lawlessness, polution and the like. Our nation is moralistic and we hold Four Virtues as the main principles behind Adejaani: Justice for all; self efficiency in military; Science/Technology to improve our way of life; and Manufacturing, such that we'd be self sustaining." Foley said, trying to keep the summary brief.

"Basically, we've never had imperial designs, no one's really bothered our nation. We've been in five conflicts and only one of those was a war, the distinction being Adejaani was actually named a combatant and a declaration of war was issued..... We're also pretty unique in using the Internet to run our government, using Forum and Message Boards and internet voting booth to discuss and pass laws, as well as to hold elections. Anything else you need to know, sir?"

The Euroslavic plane holding the diplomat has landed at the Hubway and will await a messenger to escort him to your diplomat.

We've rebuilt the city as best we can, but all the old historical landmarks were destroyed, so almost everything you see of Tico City nowadays mimics the original." Augustine frowned. "I can still show you around, though." She smiled, revealing straight, white teeth.

"Just a couple of questions: what is your government's structure like, and what level of freedoms do your people have? These hold little-to-no bearing in our overall relation with you, but it helps me decide how to formulate proper agreements between our nations."

"Our government is interesting. Fully Democratic. As I explained previously, we use the Internet to hold elections and to debate laws, such that the government, really is, of the people, by the people, for the people. There's an Executive Branch, headed by a President and Vice President, with Departments of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and many more, with whole staffs to help draft laws which the people then vote on, or to moderate public debates regarding laws or whatever issues people want to talk about.

"As for personal freedoms, we generally try to give people as much choice and freedom as they want. As long as they live a good life, try to keep the peace and not hurt anyone, then they're pretty much free to do anything. Personal choices are, well, we feel people should be able to choose.

"That, to a large degree, is all there is. We give everyone a free education and our healthcare, education and transportation system is robust and works. We tend to be a bit capitalistic and central, in that making money and working for the good of the nation is emphasised, though not forced. Anything else, sir?"

Ambassador Stone nods.

"Well, save music, our government has never been big in support of the arts. Help yourself and all. Culturally, Imitora is very military oriented, with a strong authoritarian mindset. Business wise, however, is another mater. We have three very strong corporations, plus several smaller ones."

I believe I said man-made satellites, opposed to orbiting moons, asteroids and comets, but opservation, weather, and weaponry satellites.

"Yeah, thats quite possible," Gerret said, with a hint of hesitance. HE had been briefed on Live Wire and its existance, but didn't fully comprehend its purpose or use. However, he didn't have the level clearance to talk about such matters, and therefore waited for hsi couterpart's idea.

Ok, then as a gesture of our new relations, we will send two satellites, one is for weather patterns and weather predicting and the other is a geological one that measures changes in your world and predicts volcanic activity, ice shelf movement, and current changes very accuratly.

Gerret nodded. "I'm sure we can set something up. The 22nd SOTF hasn't had that much work lately, and some action, even training, would be welcomed." Gerret had to be carefull, because while he had breifing level clearance, he wasn't authorized to talk about certain units in the military, more specifically the 1st SOU, 33rd Diplomatic Reserve, and the FSOU.

However, he could talk about some of the more overt units, such as the 22nd SOTF, 133rd Special Air Operations Unit, and the 17th Cavalry. "What levels of operations are you looking for? Covert operations, counter terrorism, specialized infantry? We have at least one unit designed to handle every problem that comes our way." A thought came to Gerret's mind.

"Just about anything, really. The current Special Forces of Adejaani, at least the Land Forces component, mostly consist of support roles, like partisan/resistance liaisons and intelligence gathering. There's been some experiments with independent behind the scenes, counter insurgency and the like, but it's really basically a support force, getting their hands dirtier than the regular Infantry.

"In other words, the Adejaani SF are not 'stealth'. They cannot infiltrate in quietly and act on their own. Basically, everything you listed, we need for our Special Forces teams. As for forests, it's going to be a bit difficult. Adejaani's environmentalists are trying very hard to ensure the gardens don't get trampled. What forests we do use for training grounds are generally um..... They tend to be a bit dry, as we use the ones near the mountains and desert and higher regions, where civilians and settlements aren't likely to go, giving us more room to move about and train in.

To begin, the basic principles of any military alliance that my nation would engage in are simple: should we ever be in a large conflict in which our nation is at high risk, we would want yours to assist us in any way possible, though most preferrably militarily. Our nation would, of course, do likewise.

In any trade agreements, we would ask that we recieve something of a discount of your goods, as well as a near-constant flow of goods between our nations. Also, we request that any tariffs be lowered to reasonable levels. In return, we would do the same, and your nation would be able to recieve up to a 20% discount on all goods and services from major corporations like Syntec and Krimson. As to what goods would be specifically stated in any agreement, that varies with what your nation produces. Ours specializes in military technologies, aerospace technology, biotechnology, energy technologies, and a variety of personal consumer goods, as well as resources such as silicon, copper, iron, uranium, tungsten, and meat-based agriculture.

As for a technology trade agreement, we would have to know what you have to offer. "The military alliance should prove to pass without much notice. However, the trade agreements are a bit more difficult. Tariffs are already reasonably low, though as a hedge, Adejaani tends to..... Allow for only certain items to be let in, as opposed to letting them all in and tax them wholly.

"Our two nations seem to have rather similar products, as the bulk of Adejaani's export industry are, in the aerospace sector, with an extremely robust space industry. As such, any trade agreements, discounts and similar would have to be done on a per product basis.

"As such, most of our technological exchange would come from that field, as the majority of our military is in Modern Tech."

Gerret nodded. It was close to what he nedded. "How would joint expierience based training work? We make two teams of Marines from the 22nd SOTF, (OOC: Akin to US Army Rangers, but train ten times harder), a few pilots from the 133rd, and some from the 17th. Then we split up your units, put them on the two teams, and allow them to participate with the units."

He paused, thinking, and then continued. "To operate on a more...covert...level, along the lines of Counter Insugency, CT/HR, and the like, your going to have to talk to First Speaker Griffin himself."
