Eagle's Cup II - Football Signups - FULL (ADD ROSTERS)
The Eagles Nest
09-04-2004, 15:03
This is the signup for the second Eagle's Cup, a tournament like the Copa America that is held between the World Cups.
Timewise, this cup happens one year before the start of World Cup XIV. This cup will be limited to 16 teams divided into 4 groups. Each team will play each team twice in their group, with the top two teams going on from each group. If there is a tie for 1st and 2nd, Goal Differential will decide it. If there is a tie for 2nd and 3rd, there will be a one game playoff.
All games are played in the Eagle's Nest, and as such no home/away bonus is given. There is a RP bonus, I look for quality, not quantity. Rankings will also be from the official KPB rankings from WCXIII.
I plan to start this during the elimination rounds of WCXIII so it will end in the interim between WCXIII and the beginning of WCXIV.
If you sign up here, please use this thread as the Rosters thread, and I will create RP and Scores threads once I have drawn the teams.

Bad luck with WC XIII 4th I believe, just missed out on qualifying like us (5th in G7).

Aye. One point. Guess I didn't RP enough. Our home record was shocking.

Then again, I was low ranked. I suppose I should be happy I did that well.

The World Cup Committee has sanctioned this event as an official World Cup Event. It does not affect the KPB rankings, must may now be used in team histories.

Does this mean you want to play or just watch as a sideline official?

The Druids would like to be in again, despite a performance last time that left a lot to be desired. (We somehow managed to reach the semi-finals iirc)

Likung, president of a small place called Progressive Hash, skims the newspaper. Nations bombed, sinking into poverty, democratic governments overthrown 'Oh, what a world' he thought, he quickly looked at the sport section. 'Hey, a soccer cup is about to start!' he thought and thought about if it was a good idea to see Progressans participate in it. He couldn't make up his mind, debts, perhaps he should smoke less before thinking about that. He simply used the toss of a coin to determine if it was a good one. the coin indicated it is (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this). He contacted Mikoo, minister of sports. Mikoo was at first not very impressed by this idea, because he had just taken a nap, but agreed to sign a Progressan team up.

My roster is the same as the one I used for WC XIII, except Carl Lane replaces Joshua Harris on the roster, as Harris is currently rehabing his knee after the injury suffered near the end of WC XIII qualifying. Harris should be ready for the start of WC XIV. Mark Williams will start in goal for the Warriors in Harris' absence. Williams is a proven goalie and the Warriors staff is not worried about his ability to help the Warriors qualify for an elimination round for the first time.
