Dak, King/Powerful Dictator of Dakal (Which means land of Dak in Dakalese, the former name of the country is forbidden to be spoken), walked out onto the balcony. Glorious in his military uniform, he ran his hand through is purple-dyed hair (the dyeing is a custom for members of his clan), his signiture gesture. The people, perhaps out of love through propaganda, or perhaps out of fear of the numerous snipers clearly displayed on all the rooftops, cheered.

"Today, we petition to re-enter the fellowship of dictatorial nations everywhere. This furthers our noble cause of ensuring one thought, one mind, one opinion. Unity, is our goal. It is a goal shared by the nations of an alliance known as Metus."

He let his words hang in the air. "We request membership in this alliance, to further our ends, and the ends of all the member nations. We hope that together with the nations of Metus, such as the nation 'Melkor Unchained' that kindly pointed us to this alliance, we may rule the world. Live to serve, serve to live. I thank you, my little playthings!"

While I must say your post looks promising in terms of RP-skill, I think you are a bit too small as of yet. However, to join Metus, you must join one of the three (actualy four, but one is inactive) suballiances that make up Metus. They are Arda, GDODAD and Greater Prussia. The Reich is pretty inactive.

Arda is ruled by Melkor, IIRC, GDODAD by The Silver Turtle and Greater Prussia by Reichskampfen.

"Dakal will of course be expected to provide the Imperium with an extensive exposition on your nations' politics, laws, foreign policy, and the like. Seems like you're on the level but we've got to know more about you first."

--Foreign Minister Jay Reaven

[OC: actually, there is nothing in the Charter that says nations have to be in Metus, it just says that everyone in GDODAD, Arda, the Reich, and Greater Prussia are in it. Very technically, you don't have to be a member of any other alliances to be in Metus.]

Actually, I was resurrected. I have over a billion people.

Politics

The nation before was a democracy with an ineffecient government that rarely did anything at all. A young officer in the military, Dak Jauram, saw this. The charismatic young officer engineered and led a rebellion of the military. He took over the government, and proclaimed himself King. He renamed the nation "Land of Dak." The nations eleven generals, to this day, serve as his advisors. He rules amorally and with an iron fist, focused only on power for himself and the nation.

A few small pro-democracy movements do exist, but they spend too much time fighting eachother to be much of a threat to the status quo.

Laws

The nation's legal code is adapted from the democracy's law code, but a lot is changed. All the humanistic elements were removed. Civil law was made harsher, but most of the previous crimes were kept as crime, although a few were removed and a few were added. King Dak is commited to allowing the population as many rights as he can without them posing any threat at all to his government. Family law was made looser from the moralistic code that had existed before.

Foreign Policy

Dakal is commited to spreading the message of dictatorship and purity of thought to the rest of the world. It's fundalmental foreign policy goals are:

1. Becoming involved again in the alliance of dictatorships, now known as Metus.
2. Increasing the power and influene of the nation
3. Putting an end to democracy.

Also, we also try to keep our military as absolutely powerful as possible.

I like what I see so far. What allies do you have, if any; and why?

Arda is ruled by Melkor, IIRC, GDODAD by The Silver Turtle and Greater Prussia by Reichskampfen.

This I find offensive.

Arda is ruled by a Triumvirate of Kalessin, Melkor Unchained, and High Orcs. Before that, it was the Orcish Horde and the two (way in the beginning). Melkor just gets more attention because of all the tolkien-fanboys and him having a space fleet (Space = Popularity).

It'd be funny if it wasn't true

But does a Space Fleet make one popular
or does one popular make a space fleet?

We would be more than happy to bring Dakal into the Concert of High Lords, and through this organization eventually lead them into the ranks of GDODAD, and therefore of Metus. If this option is disagreeable, we would also recommend the Coalition of Evil as a starting place for Dakal's eventual ascension to The Domain of The Wicked. We await the input of the Council on this matter.

Hence the "IIRC", I wasn't sure how Arda was governed. Thanks for the info.

No allies currently, we had some before we got deleted for inactivity, but they are all either gone or we have completely lost track of who they were.

Darius walked down the black empty hallway, surrounded by eight of his personal soldiers, their red eyed helmets glowing eerily as the thermal visor's scanned all around for assassins. Though the chance of an assassin actually being within the twilight city was impossible, Darius decided that it would be best to bring them anyway. Stopping at the end of the hallway the guards formed two lines against the walls, the doors opening automatically.

"Alright... Now where were we?" Darius, the enforcer of Catharsis walked inside and sat down at the end of the table, High Executioner Zephon was motionlessly seated to his right, and Emperor Yurka was seated to his right, "Well gentlemen, lets get on with it shall we? With a few secluded riots happening monthly and the sightings of the Zerom, I think it would be of our best interests to join the dictator alliance known as Metus..."

"Hmph..." Zephon's voice echoed behind his mask as he began to speak, his slightly mechanical voice hissing, "If you insist... This does not concern me or my followers... Do as you wish, the temple of Zephon does not need to concern itself with such political actions as alliances..." Zephon rose from his seat, something under his robe moved around and vanished into the pitchblack room.

"So Darius, an alliance with Metus? I'm sure that they have quite alot to offer, the question is... Can we do the same?" Emperor Yurka scratched his cheek and smiled, "Perhaps some sort of military agreements are in order?"

"Yes Yurka... I was getting to that untill I was interrupted by Zephon. They might request some information about the Triumvirate though... Just to be sure that we are actually the type of nation their alliance is looking for. I'll be sure to send the information shortly." Darius stood up, turned and walked out the door to have the information sent. The meetings of the triumvirate were almost painfully drool for him. Zephon and Yurka always put him on edge with their emotionless banter.

"Damn I need a drink..."

The Concert of High Lords is a protectorate region of Metus, under my direction. As a member of the CoHL, you will gain Metus protectorate status, and if you prove yourself to be worthy, will eventually become a member of Metus through my personal reccomendation. The road to Metus membership is a hard one. This is perhaps the most viable option you have. So, will you be joining the Concert of High Lords?
