Minas Trith
07-04-2004, 18:38
The dark cloud blocked the sun as the monk walked solemnly from the throne room to address the crowd gathered before the gates.
He slowly climbed the small ladder, and stepped onto the wall to face the crowd.
Silence descended.
“THE KING IS DEAD,” he proclaimed – carefully trying to contain his grief.
The crowd erupted into cries of anguish.
The bolder among the gathered called out to the monk.
“What shall we do? To whom shall we turn.”
The monk raised his eyes. “I do not know. The line is broken…” the monk stopped – a man dressed in all black began pushing his way through the crowd – eager to get to the monk.
“My Lord?” said the monk, as the man climbed beside him on the wall.
“People of Minas Trith, hear my words. There is a tradition – written in the ancient texts – that should the line of Kings be broken – a new King may be selected by the people – by you. I have studies long and traveled far to bring this news to your ears – the need for war and strife is past – now we must look for five champions – masters of sword and spell to take up the crown of the King and lead this land to its past greatness.”
And so word went out that the King was dead – but a new King would be selected from five champions – who would prove their prowess in a series of challenges – to take control of Minas Trith and bring a lasting peace to the land.
ooc: Minas Trith is a puppet of mine (Wolfish), which, shamefully, I let die. But it’s too good a name to waste - so I had it resurrected. I’ve decided to RP out the change of leadership. The winner of the competition will receive the password. The winner will be selected by quality of RPing which includes, the ability to create and maintain a compelling story line, the quality of writing and their ability to interact with other players (both cooperatively and opposed to).
Questions? Telegram me – either here or directly to Wolfish.
