Knootoss withdraws ambassador from Feline

THE HAGUE – The foreign ministry today announced that it has withdrawn its ambassador from Feline, a nation the DDR is allied with through the United alliance of Progressive States (UnAPS) The government stated that the ambassador would be withdrawn only temporary until certain issues were resolved. Prime Minister Galadriël Táralóm nos Cirdan refused to comment on the matter.

A high-ranking foreign ministry official however, told us that the action was a deliberate political move due to irresolvable foreign policy issues. Our source cited the representative to UnAPS as being “more or less insane” and “warmongering” The ambassador would only be returned if certain proposals were put off the table. The source also excluded the possibility of arms sales between the nations as long as the disagreement would continue.

We are not warmongering, intelligence mongering perhaps, but not warmongering.

We believe that no matter how bad a diagreement between two nations, they should still stay in full diplomatic contact. In all circumstances, from a minor disagreement between friends, such as this, even up to and including open war, we never close our embassies or recall ambassadors unless they are in danger.

((Is this a public statement by your foreign minister? A private note? What it is will affect how I deal with it.))

OOC: I don't know, private note I guess, since I like to keep UnAPS matter private within the UnAPS.

"At this moment our ambassador is withdrawn for consultations only.

Because of the recent military proposal by the Feline Representative to UNAPS the government of the DDR has been maneuvered into a very difficult political position making cooperation with this representative very difficult. We cannot, unfortunately, work with the proposal as is. We would very much like this matter to be resolved so we can return our ambassador without problems.

On behalf of the minister,

We repeat that it was not a military proposal, but an intelligence one.

"Unfortunately there were many military aspects to the matter proposed. We do hope that we can continue to work together as allies in the spirit of friendship and cooperation. Should this proposal be rejected by the alliance council, which we are confident it will, we will reinstate our ambassador provided that Feline does not pursue the suggested policies unilaterally"

"We are deeply saddened that in these trying times, relations between two close allies are so strained. We strongly urge the government of Knootoss to return their ambassador to Feline. This is not the kind of action that should be taken between two allies."
