The Peacefull and Free Land of Pablicosta is a massive, safe nation, renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 2.258 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Education and Social Equality are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 100%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Automobile Manufacturing.

The alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, the government is attempting to impose a new national language on the public, the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, and televangelists flaunt their expensive cars when they attend charity events. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Pablicosta's national animal is the Phoenix, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Pablicostan Dollar.
