BAGHDAD, AL ANBAR - According to Iraqi government sources, the government of Al Anbar has stockpiled large amounts of food, ammunition, medical supplies, petroleum, and spare parts for atleast five months of combat should it be unable to import this needed equipment.
According to a story in the al-Ba'ath, the official Ba'ath Party newspaper, it stated that Al Anbar has "stockpiled approximately 1,500,000 tons of ammunition, sufficent for five months of continious combat, enough food and medical supplies for six months, and oil for approximately a year of regular service to all parts of the population."
Also according to the article, Al Anbar has been "stockpiled these goods within hardened underground bunkers, impervious to any bombs known to the world currently."
