I godmod in almost every RP. My technology is almost impossible, even with far future technology. I give myself almost every advantage in combat and make my ships capable of doing stuff that pretty much ruins the whole point of an RP. If any other nation did any of the stuff I do, I'd ignore them in a second (and by 'ignore' I don't mean just yell "You're ignored!", then continue to post about how they godmod and spam, I mean I just wouldn't acknowledge or respond to anything they post). So, why not me?

There have been a few occasional posts of 'that's unfair', and 'how could that happen?', but nothing beyond that. I just want to know, why am I tolerated to such an extreme?

P.S. I'm not complaining (Believe me, I love this), just curious

Perhaps you have a really, really pessimistic expectation of what's possible for a military?

Y'see, when I move into selling spaceships, I want to have my competition's confirmation that what he sells is a GODMOD. :P

Well some people like to have godmod wars. More power to you. I like mine with... well. Plausibility and consistency.

I'll need to bear this in mind if I ever RP with you...

Klonor, to be blunt you're too important to ignore. Take me. I get ignored often just because I stay out of things for the most part and when I disappear not much is affected. You sell ships to virtually everyone in space and have ties to multiple important historical events. If you were ignored there would be gigantic holes both in history and in people's militaries. You have to be your own policeman on this one.

I guess that does make some sense, but I try not to think of myself as being to important (my ego is huge enough already, and there's always some '02 nation ready to call me a n00b :wink: )

Your a Good Role Player, Good Fellow NationStates Member whom has yet to show an extreme vengence upon anyone. Your a very fair individual and I see everything you do as within bounds, if you know what I mean. You don't use "Under-Super Weapons," or whatever they would be called, and you have yet to say "J00 a3r g0 B00M!" or whatever, lol.

Your a pretty fair Role Player, Klonor, and I believe everyone will agree when I say that. I mean, hey, you have yet to specifaclly deny EVERYONE the change the Role Play against or with ya, so that just adds to your Respect! :D

Why haven't I ignored you? Because I have a guideline:

Once a nation reaches 700 million, I don't ignore any more. I just cut all ties. An IC ignore, if you will. You still exist, but there is no interaction.

'Cause,every single nation here who has the damned space stuff is relatively godmodding. :lol: We all should be ignore by all the "modern-tech"nations and be excluded,shuned,and exiled.

I find it hard to reconcile that with

I view a good RPer as someone who isn't all about having every advantage in combat at the cost of RP. Otherwise, as Klonor says, what is the point?

I do design my military to be super effective, of course. But that's the role my character (Santa Barbara) is more fit for than 99.98 percent of nations in the NS world. But there are ways to defeat it. That's why I don't bother playing with those whose militaries are "impossible" to defeat. I could have every conceivable military and economic advantage (and usually do 8) but all it takes is one player who's too attached to their character to take appropriate losses and it irrelevantizes all that IC advantage.

I like the idea that my RPing my character has an effect other than to get someone to basically say "I DEFEET U WITH MY POCKET WORMHOLE UNIVERSE DESTROYER GUN!"

Ditto to Nodea Rudav. You are a fair and balanced RP'er, and 99.991% of all RPs never get off the ground enough for anyone to godmod anyway.
