Major/Minor Alliances on NationStates?

Due to this thread: http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=137286

...I would like some people to start posting alliances that they know exist and some sort of link to the alliance that they name. I know people have put together lists before, but they are all old and out of date.

Well...let's go people! 8)

No link known, United Alliance of Progressive States, UnAPS.

Seeks to serve as a counterbalance to all the "evil" alliances out there.

Also, if you yourself are in an alliance of at least decent size, post it (and hopefully a link) here.

1.) The Proxima Centauri Defense Initiative: Regional alliance of nations in Alpha Centauri region, centered around system defense and enforcing relaxed isolationism

2.) The Gregor Sector League: Defense agreement between Valinon, Yalta, Madras, and Strocum (three worlds bordering the People's Republic of Vernii)

There's always Arda, the Reich, and Lady Siri's Fanclub (not sure if it has a name).

On the minor-ish side of things, there's the Corporate Islands regional alliance. The ammount of members change daily, but at the moment there's about 20 role-players.

I'm actually in a formal "Fan Club." The TOY is also heavily Siri-admiring, but there is a formal fan club.

"Admiring?" "Tolerating" would be a better adjective.

Our dear ally Kelanthia, part of the Non-Democratic Alliance (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60132&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=), has an entire thread devoted to alliance listings here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39924&highlight=) should you be interested.

And yes, as for the Trium and Siri ... I'd have to agree with 'Tolerating' there m'self. *grins*

:;sighs::

Dunno if two I am in apply here.....so I'll just state the one I was a founding member of and another in which I am currently situated in regionally:

-ASDU = Allied Socialist Defense Union
-NAA = New Aranamor Alliance

ASDU is, I believe, primarially stationed within the International Incidents Forum, however it is believed it extends here as I, Nodea Rudav, am RPing here currently and some other member of it also.

The NAA is perhaps stationed within NationStates, however it is uncertian. As I am in it Reghionally, the Region of New Aranamor, I believe it to be a NationStates Alliance.

I am unsure about both, but I state the two Alliances which I shall always be in, especially the ASDU, and of course the NAA. :D

I'll post mine, even though it's only kind of an alliance. It doesn't even have a name. The region is "Xanthal", and everyone in it along with me is under my protection... But they have to do what I say, including handing over their military forces for my use when I want them. It's kind of a rip-off, but I still got two members, both friends in RL.

We're no where near as big as CACE but under the IFTA we are the only other bloc or major faction to rival them.

In fact, the charter of the Order of the Seraphim (among a lot of other groups) is ripped off of it. I'm honored, really.

*yawn* Ah, why not?

1. Sisgardian Fellowship of Nations (SFN). Regional (Sisgardia) thing, minor alliance. Defence and Cooperation.

2. World Technological Entity (WTE). Fairly large, but, unfortunately, pretty inactive (The organisation, many of its members are fairly active). Minor alliance. Technological cooperation.

3. Jovian League. Jupiter- based alliance (Who would have thought that?), currently in the process of turning Thebe into a space station... A big space station... Five members. Alliance not too active (Jupiter is surprisingly peaceful *peers at Mars* Yes, very peaceful, compared to other things...), but members are. Minor alliance.

Incidentally, I`m member in all three of them ^_^

There's the International Consortium of Economic Powers (ICEP) if that even counts as an alliance... and the Coalition of Strategic Military Powers (CSMP) although I haven't really ironed out a real structure of that alliance yet.

When your patron is the god of war...

MIDAS-II is a Mars based mutual defense alliance (not the planetary police, despite opinions to the contrary) interested in maintaining the individual sovereignty of member nations.

The Duma is the planetary adjuctation body. Membership is open to anyone who has more than 100 million people on Mars or is invited by a respected member. It judges inter-nation disputes and enforcement power is on a case by case basis. Again it is interested in maintaining the sovereignty of individual nations.

For all things NS Mars related:

Yeah, that's pretty much all I know of. Damocles is a defense treaty signed by many of the major powers of the Devil's Desert region, but it's not the Damocles Alliance or anything, just a mutual defense thingy.
