A video message was sent to everyone in the world... an extremely remarkable feat, but somehow it was done.
"Greetings, fellow scholars! Surely, in your studies of history you have heard of the Salons, people's homes where Philosophes, as they called them then, debated and discussed. No idea was off limits, no subject too sacred. These grand institutions spawned the Enlightenment, arguably the greatest period of social progress and idea outbirth since the Renaissance, the Carolingian Renaissance, and the Age of Pericles." said a cat, well-groomed, in a three piece suit.
"As you may or may not know, I am the dean of the University of Feline. Previously, I was the dean of Sapientities, or Humanities as you may know it department. Before that, I was a professor of Philosophy. I also taught history, economics, and political science. Now, the University is setting up a modern-day salon. I am hosting it in my habitation pod. The Feline Government has agreed to lift all travel bans, so anyone from any nation may come and talk, no matter how radical or reactionary their ideas. The Salon will begin one week from now (OOC: As soon as someone replies to this in RL time). All are welcome. The only requirements are an open mind. It is my greatest hope that this endeavor will allow the entire world to become more erudite in our greatest goal: knowledge. Right after I finish talking, directions will appear on the screen.
