Once again, it is election time in Murphdawggia. With the recent rash of violence after the late President Murphy signed a bill legalizing gay marriages, poll watchers are expecting dramatic change this year.Do to the anti gay backlash, a new arch-conservative third party emerged late in the election cycle, but is expected to make significant gains in the parliment
NATIONALIST PARTY:
Candidate: Wallace (Wally) Mahann
Age 41
Political Philosophy: Moderately conservative
Personal: Married for two years to Marie Cipriani-Mahann
Religion: Non-practicing Catholic
Experience: Coauthor of Murphdawggian Constitution, Vice President under President Murphy(2001-2004), became president in February after the assassination of Murphy(Feb. 2004-).
Accomplishments: Worked to put an end to the anti-gay terror and insurrection that followed the signing of the Gay Marriage Rights Act.
Plans For the Future: Continue the moderate leadership ushered in by the father of Murphdawggia, the late Brian Murphy. Plans to get even tougher on the remaining terrorists seeking to incite violence against gays. Plans to hunt down remaining terrorist leaders who have gone into hiding.
Telling Quote: "I will not let these terrorists intimidate me into changing a just and moral law. If I have to die for my beliefs like Mr. Murphy tragically did, then so be it!"

Political Philosophy: Left-wing liberal
Personal: Single

Experience: Advisor in provisional government during Murphdawggian independence struggle. Member of the Murphdawggian Senate(2001-). Ranking minority member of the Senate Labor Committee
Accomplishments:Founder of the Workers First Foundation which strives to help the workers in their struggle against big business. Has spearheaded no major legislation since becoming a senator.
Plans For the Future:More corporate responsibility, narrow the gap between rich and poor. Remove the word "God" from all national currency.
Telling Quote: "I find it sad that we live in a country that does so little for its poorest citizens."

Candidate: Michael Finnerty
Age: 44
Political Philosophy: Fascist
Religion: Baptist
Personal: Married to Dorthy Finnerty, 3 children.

Accomplishments: Founder of the Traditional Leadership Party
Plans For the Future: Repeal Gay Marriage Rights Act, make prayer mandatory in public schools, pull Murphdawggia out of the UN.
