OOC: This thread is a showcase for Thelasi tech, so that when you start ranting about “GOMODE!!! Y0U CANT HAVE THAT!!!!1111” I can point to this thread and say “I have that, now shut up” :D
Sub Space:
(OOC: So okay, yes I said the dreaded Star Trek related word, this has almost NOTHING to do with star trek)

Thelasi Sub-space technology is equivalent in ways to the early Submarines. Using a series of field generators, it creates an area where a destroyer, or like vessel, can breach (and remain) in the dimension that the Thelasi scientists termed “sub-space”. It only takes a specific amount of power at a certain frequency, to allow a ship to pass into sub-space. The problem is that a vessel from one “dimension” will “float” back to that dimension.
The field generators create a bubble of “real space” inside “sub-space”. This bubble allows the ship to remain in what ever dimension the ship settled in. By controlling the energy bubble’s strength, the ship can move “up” and “down” although it could better be described as “in and out”.
Another major hurdle for the Thelasi scientists was the simple fact that normal communications gear cannot reach the ship when it is in sub-space. This also works with sensors, rendering the Thelasi ship invisible to the enemy’s sensor probes. Although conversely, using normal sensors, the Thelasi ship cannot ‘see’ any vessels in “real-space”. The only type of sensor that can detect a ship in sub-space is a gravitic sensor (one that detects the small gravity field of a ship, even when in sub-space, a ship (because of that bubble) still has a gravitic presence in “real-space”), unfortunately. Most of these sensors have insanely short range, and are sometimes rendered inoperable near planets, and if there are a lot of ship in the area, it can be difficult to find a specific vessel.
Because of these limitations, the Thelasi developed an interesting solution. Looking back to the old periscopes of the ancient submarines, the Thelasi constructed probes, connected to the vessel by a tether/cable. Because the probe will “rise” to “real-space”, connected by this tether (using up one foot of cable for every dimension it has to rise through) to the destroyer, it can transmit data back to the vessel.
For weapons, the Thelasi quickly realized that energy weapons, because they remained in the dimension that they were fired in, were useless. They again looked back to the ancient submarines of earth. Using large torpedoes, loaded with small Fusion-Fission High Yield (or FFHY) warheads, the Sub-Space Destroyers can hit targets in real-space with little threat of retaliation, except for the minor fact that when a vessel fires a torpedo a gravity spike occurs.
The Thelasi Navy, realizing that enemies may at some point develop Sub-Space technology, developed special “Gravity Bombs” that create massive short range gravity fields, capable of tearing apart a vessel in sub-space, where gravity has more of a “conductive” effect. These charges are set to target the general area where the enemy ship was sight, and then are set to detonate at different dimensions.
