Klonor Empire Destroyed!

Klonor
27-03-2004, 04:36
The Duke slowly walked to his bedchambers, sighing after a long day. Sales for the KSS were down, relations with neighboring star systems were stressed, and people were getting more and more pissed at having to share Deneb with Lil miss. To top it all off, he had a major migraine. Odd, since science had pretty much made migraines a thing of the past. However, nobody had been able to do much with this one.

As he neared his bed he heard a vague whispering sound, seeming to come from all around him. He pauses, reaching down and grasping the CRIMtech Pulsar Assault Rifle strapped to his leg (A member of the Royal Family, since in constant combat with all other members, never went anywhere unarmed. Even though he was the only one left alive, old habits are hard to break.)

"Who's there? Reveal yourself at once, or I shall summon the guards."

An empty threat, since the guards should have already been there. Something was wrong.

"Reveal yourself!"

He brings up the Rifle, powering the core and readying the firing stud. He might be a Duke and rather pampered, but he was a dead shot with almost any type of firearm.

I already have

The Duke didn't even respond to that, already quite freaked out

We have shown you ourselves many times already. Regulus.......Salm......Bobaria..... have you already forgotten them?

The Duke paused at this, wondering at the connection. Regulus was a civil war, Salm was a wannabe deposer, and Bobaria was entirely the Duke's fault (just stretching some military muscle). What could this weird voice have to do with any of those?

What could we have to do with them? We were them. The Regulus rebellion? They were our troops. General Salm? He was our operative. Bobaria? The war that you started? Well, there is much that some subliminal messages can accomplish. You have been playing our game. For our victory.

The Duke paused again, realising that he hadn't spoken aloud that time.

Of course we can read your thoughts. We can even broadcast our own. Where do you think you're hearing this? If you had the necessary control you'd realise your auditory channels aren't in use. You hear what we want you to hear

The Rifle slowly lowers, the Duke finally realising what was going on.

Didn't it ever occur to you that all the wars were the same battle? What did the Regulus troops and Salm all say? I'm sure you can remember if you tried.

Yes, I remember. That the Duchy was sapping the Empire of its strength. That we were propping up our enemies while lowering ourselves. That we were digging our own grave. I never connected it, but Salm said the same thing before he tried to kill me.

Finally, the last horse crosses the finish line. They were all our pawns, but they were correct. The Duchy is failing and is dragging the rest of Klonor with it. We will not stand for that. Good bye, Duke.

The Duke swung up the Rifle again, prepared for anything. Unfortunately, a Rifle isn't much good against something inside your own mind.

With a scream that reaches down to the very core of his sould the Duke collapses, grasping his hair as he howls in pain. The air screams out of lungs, tearing at his throat as it erupts with such a heart rendering sound that if anybody had been within range to hear it they would have collapsed in agony. However, such force can not be maintained for long. Even as the last of the air is sucked from his lungs he loses conciousness, his heart slowing and his brain collapsing. Within seconds he's nothing but a mere husk, a dead body with a dead mind. A truly horrendous way to die.

Even as the Duke is struck down from within his own head the rest of the Government is struck. Explosives in place for decades, sleeper agents manipluated from before they were even born, sabotaged ships, all are activated at once. Harbinger Warheads detonate, Beam Cannons fire, Agents snap the spines of their targets....... and the Klonor Empire falls.

First goes the System Governments, 100 person senates given the task of creating the laws of each Colonised System. Then the Planetary Executers, multi-man groups responsible for tailoring the laws to each specific planet and making sure they are carried out to their extent. Lastly, the Regional Magistrates, individuals who create the laws governing local conduct and responsible for settling all inter-Regional disputes. All are eliminated. All are executed quite efficiently. All in ways to make the most cold blooded killers shiver in their boots.

The Klonor Empire spanned 6 Stellar-Systems. It had taken centuries to build, centuries to support, supply, and defend. It had cost the lives of countless millions. It was all obliterated in seconds.

Then there was silence..........

"Father, do you think you are neglecting your duty in any way?"
"Why?"

[code:1:490df94306]Lord Admiral Munroe, the Universe needs your help again! The entire Klonor viceroyalty on the Stakehold colony near K-Prime seems to have been destroyed, and word has leaked in that the Klonor Empire has fallen![/code:1:490df94306]
"In one day?"
[code:1:490df94306]Yes! It is amazing! Only you know what we should do![/code:1:490df94306]
"Pick up the pieces, I guess. Send the... we don't have numbered battle fleets anymore, do we? One of 'em, anyway. Send our biggest fleet to Stakehold. Then send the next two biggest to... Klonor and the next-biggest Klonor world. When was this atlas last updated?"
[code:1:490df94306]Your wish is our command, Lord Munroe![/code:1:490df94306]
Charlie Munroe leaned back. "Man, if it weren't for the fancy titles they give me I would've retired a long time ago. I hate this job."
As he returned to another bout of freeform he shook his head. "Two... in a day..."

...and three Thunderstraat fleets took off towards the Klonor Empire.

Minister Grier of Military Intelligence burst into Administrator-General Karhoff's bedroom at two o'clock in the morning.

"Sir, something is very wrong in Klonor! I'm getting reports of massive energy signatures, and all communications are down!" He handed the report to Karhoff.

For the first time in years, Karhoff felt well and truly afraid. "Good God, Jonathan! What's going on over there?"

"We don't know, Sir. We can't get anything out of Klonor. Even Domin's* operatives aren't responding to communications."

"Dammit, Johnathan! Get me more information, NOW! I want to know every detail of this incedent in three hours or I send in the GAN!"

"Yes, Sir!"

All the while, futile broadcasts flew from Guanyu to Klonor as the Guanyan government collectively held it's breath, waiting for some indication of what had happened to their ally.

An Albany class sensors ship, the LRRSV Fortunate Son, picks up the detonations of Harbringer warheads and various other unpleasentries.

"Looks like multiple nuclear detonations in the direction of the Deneb system, and other various unpleasentries."
"Not good. Inform Admiral Kucinich."

Other sensors ships from all over the galaxy report similar occurrances in Klonor space.

Admiral Dennis Kucinich wakes up to the soft humming of the Stephen Hawking's machinery. The massive battlecarrier cruises along in space. The voices of the bridge crew can also be heard. He gets out of his bed and walks onto the bridge.

"What's goin on?"
"Disturbences all over Klonor. Looks like the empire is going down the gutter."
"That will certainly exert a destabilizing effect. So, where are we heading?"
"To a Klonor outer system <insert name here> to make sure the Klonor fleet's space ships are safe and their citizens fed."
"Oh. Sounds good."
"We should get there in a day or two, taking into consideration all the stops we'll need to make."

Along the projected route map, several icons representing deep space resupply stations can be seen. They also have to stop at Starchaser 32, one of the many LRR deepspace shipyards, tucked away in seldom-traveled portions of the galaxy.

"What do we need?"
"We're picking up several batallions of Naval Infantry and a regiment of civil engineering troops."

The 2nd battlefleet cruises through space to the first waypoint, the hyperspace point.

"All ships, prepare for hyperspace. Make for supply station 167-170."

The very large fleet of LRR ships jumps into hyperspace, headed for the <insert name here> system.

After a short while in hyperspace, the fleet arrives at 167-170. The base's occupants are somewhat surprised to see them, and at first panic thinking it is a pirate fleet. Most LRR resupply bases, too small to defend themsevels from anything larger than a few frigates, are built into asteroids or inside old hulks to make them hard to spot. 167-170 is one of the few totally constructed resupply bases.

"Oh, its just you. We have the load of food aid you asked for. Ready to transfer when you are."
"We are ready to transfer, base control."

The cargo hold of the LRRSV Stephen Hawking is opened up, and prepared to recieve the parcels of food. Tugs push the giant containers into the hold, and it is soon full. The large, cylindrical Michael Strogoff class fleet battlecarriers and the similarly designed but smaller Frederick Douglass class battlecruisers have pleny of cargo room, even after the fighter bays are filled up.

Soon, the food aid is loaded, and the fleet heads off to the next resupply base.

Kata'Re looked out the sliding glass-door to the beautiful sky and mountians afar, the colony below with Komodren and Birthright Human a-like walking about their normal day. Somehow this was only a normal day for them, the People, not Kata'Re or any of the Colonial Leadership. Of course The People, every person that lived on Novar that came from the apocolyptic end to Ancient Rudavia by a rogue meteor. Truly all Ancient Rudavians thrived here on their new Homeworld of Novar, their new Home System of Nova Kretani. Yet, somehow, even as The People were the highest Government in the land, the Colonial Government was still concerned with the safety and well-being of its People, thus it knew so much about happenings.

However, Kata'Re heard the news. Klonor had been destroyed by them. It was unknown who they were, but it was obvious that they were something powerful, something unknown. They were the new danger to the existance of Nodea Rudav, all Rudavians. Novar was in danger now, it had been predicted they would do it, and they did. Behind him was Colonial General Zergov Relin'Ski, a Birthright Human whom was a long time friend of Kata'Re, a Komodren. Colonial General Zergov had just finished informing Kata'Re of the situation, and right now Kata'Re was thinking as he viewed the landscape for a few.

"You do know what this means," said a Zergov with a Russian-American accent, "I cannot stress importance of our correct intelligence on this matter, Kata'Re. You and I know how dangerous this situation can get."

Kata'Re nodded, turning around to face Colonial General Zergov, "Yes Brethren Relin'Ski, I understand the situation as clearly as those whom almost fainted when hearing how right it was." He walked and sat in the chair, much like a Presidents chair expect it was for one called "Leader" instead of any other normal position, "I understand now that Novar is in danger, yet I don't understand how we can avoid the coming armaggedon that will befall upon all Rudavians."

Zergov sat back down in the chair infront of the Leaders Desk, again much like any Presidents desk or feature in a Leadership Office, then sighed. "Comrade Kata'Re, what must I do to say it will take while before they come? Indeed danger has befallen all Novar and Rudavians, yet why worry much about it?"

"Its the meaning of it all, Zergov, not the time inbetween. Yes it may take hundreds of years, but they already threatened us, am I not correct?"

Zergov nodded, "Indeed you are correct, Comrade Leader. However, I lead all Colonial Armed Forces, moniter, moderate, whatever you wish to call it. I will ensure we are safe. Have I failed the People, or you, yet?"

Kata'Re shook his head slowly, "No, no you never have. For that I am always honored at how many times your skills of commanding the entire Armed Forces, both the Peoples Socialist Armed Forces and now the Colonial Armed Forces. But, my good commanding Brethren, do not underestimate their capabilities, as you have seen as proof of Klonor."

Colonial General Zergov nodded, and they both sat quietly for a time before continuing on with other matters. The idea of them worried them both, and intern it worried so much so that they hoped no one could ever do such a thing to The People or all of the Rudavians.

Deneb! The system of a billion souls! The home of one of the greatest empires to grace the spaceways! Now, because of the spectacular fall of the Klonor Empire, the Deneb system lies in ruins. Most of the space constructions in the system were Klonorian, and thus destroyed...
Klonor itself, once the seat of the great Grand Duchy, lies aimlessly on its orbit, scars near where Harbinger explosives detonated puckering the surface. Most of the great cities were destroyed, and the once-great capital city of the Klonor Empire is decimated. It was too big for them to destroy, but it was crippled.

President Calimar smiled as he read the news of the Klonor Empire's destruction NavInt had delivered to him. He finished reading, then pressed the intercom button to his secretary. "Julie, I want you to get Fleet Admiral Harris in my office ASAP."

Half an hour later, Harris entered his office and bowed. "You wished to see me sir?"

"Yes, I want you to immediately draw up plans for grabbing a chunk of Klonor's territory. Under the guise of peacekeeping of course. That is all."

After Harris had left, Calimar turned in his chair to look out upon Cardona. He began to whistle, and then selected a bottle of wine from his personal collection to have delivered to him.

"... I knew that! But how did we get ships there?"

"...subspace jump, sir. We _did_ chart out the subspace threads all the way to Gamma Cygni... Deneb is within drive range from there."

"Ah. So, where is it on this map over here?"

"Er... the cartographic division is having hardware problems. But, it's more or less... here."

The commander points at the wall beside the map.

"It's not _on_ that map?"

"No sir. It's just slightly beyond the edge."

"Oh. So we sent..."

"A battlegroup consisting of Viishar battleships and a bunch of other things big enough to scare people. And troop transports."

"What did we need the troop transports for?"

"Well, aheh.. we have literally no idea what the situation is, so we figured it'd be safer to go in armed."

"And..."

"If you sign this," the officer shuffled a piece of paper across the desk. "I won't be court-marshalled."

"Aha."

The emperor signs it, and all is good. Unless you're on one of those troop transports. Those have a tendency towards making the riders sick.

The 2nd Battlefleet arrives outside Starchaser 4 (http://well-of-souls.com/homeworld/hws/hw2/images/HW2_Comps_09_RC_M01.jpg) a short while later. The base is quite ready to recieve them, and the giant freighter LRRMSV Richard Starkey sits outside the far larger construction complex, hidden in the center of the large nebula/planetary debris field.

"2nd BG, this is Starchaser 4 control. Transferring the Starkey to your control."
"Roger that. LRRMSV Rchard Starkey, this is the LRRSV Stephen Hawking, do you read?"
"We read you, Hawking. We have our cargo stowed."
"Set your hyperspace drive for the military base at Gamma Draconis."
"Roger that."

The 2nd battlegroup charges its hyperspace drives, and jumps out for Gamma Draconis. Being a somewhat long jump from Starchaser 4, to keep the station as un-tempting as possible for the Klonor fleet, the ships use full hyperspace power to reach the area. One advantage the LRR fleet had was its long-range hyperspace drives. While relatively short on any special offensive weaponry, LRR hyperspace drives are excellent.

A few hours later, they arrive at Gamma Draconis fleet base, to find........

Inside the Premieral office there was an appropiation of funds meeting for the CF Space forces;

"If you gave the space forces a third of the military budget, we would turn the CFSC into a force to be feared!" Fleet Admiral Halsey was adamant, he wanted more ships.

"And how will more money help your already bloated organization? You already have two multi-trillion Facehugger shipyards! Why must you leach money off of our grand army?" Replied General Schwartzovitch, his voice laced with venom. It was obvious what he wanted.

"Simple! We'll build another shipyard! Then we'll still have enough money for another Fifty dreadnoughts!" Halsey replied.

"Silence!" The Premier's words cut through the meeting like a hot knife through butter. Everyone looked up and stopped talking. He continued; "Halsey, I can understand why you want more money, but another shipyard is an investment that we cannot really afford at this time. And the problem with our shipyards is that they can only produce one dreadnought at a time. All the money in the world won't change that. Hmm...You will get 800 billion facehuggers. That is only half of what you ask for, but we are not threatened by space nations at the present time, so we have little need of massive fleets of warships, correct?"

"Yes, Premier...But..." Halsey didn't seem to happy with the circumstances.

"But nothing. To spend all that money, you'll have to outsource. And I will not accept a lax in ship quality. You must deal with the Klonor empire..." The mere mention of the mighty Klonor Empire sent shivers down Halsey's spine. Klonor had weapons that could cut through even his mighty dreadnoughts with ease. But he needed ships, and as the premier said, quality was paramount.

"This meeting is ajourned. Halsey, liason with the Klonor empire and purchase a small fleet."
<Two hours later>

Halsey got onto his computer and began typing out a message to the Klonor Ship Store
[code:1:72238a7c58]Dear Empire of Klonor,
I am writing to you on behalf of the USSCF. Several years ago, we purchased two of your mighty Hecate class Destroyers. We are so impressed with them that we would like to purchase several more for our space forces. Get in touch with me and we can work out the details.

-Best wishes, Fleet Admiral Halsey, USSCF.[/code:1:72238a7c58]
As the days turned to weeks, Halsey began to wonder what had happened. The Klonor government had always been very punctual, especially when it comes to money.

<One week later>
Halsey was trying to sell his idea of sending an envoy to Klonor to the Premier.
"I get the feeling that all isn't well with the Klonor empire... Perhaps we should send a ship to see what is going on? If the empire is losing a war so badly that they cannot afford to sell us ships, nor respond to our comms, perhaps they could use our help?"

"And what if the Klonorians don't want to communicate with us? Are you really prepared to risk the wrath of the Klonor empire?"

"Yes, I have faith in the crew that I've picked for this mission."

"Alright...But if it results in Klonor attacking us, I'll have your balls for this..."

The die was cast, the USSCF would be sending a small ship to see what was up with the Klonor empire.

For this mission, only the best ship would do. Halsey requisitioned the prototype of the Supernova, easily the most advanced CF craft to date. It was a marvel of engineering. It was the only ship of its size to mount a Xenium Implosion Reactor and the hyperspatial capabilities therein. It was sleek, lethal, and nimble.

Halsey gazed out at the Supernova

"I hope to god this doesn't blow up in our collective faces..."

OOC: Stats for the Supernova;
Size: 100 Meters
Crew: 12
Weapons hardpoints: 4 Omni gun hardpoints
2 Missile hardpoints
2 defensive turrets

Shielding system: Advanced "Accumulator" shields.
Speed: Really fast
Vector Control Thrusters: Yes (VCTs allow a ship to move laterally, and let the ship preform some really nice stunts for a ship its size.)
Fighter capability: 1 Starfire fighter docked to the lower docking port.

What do you mean, when I post and leave? I've made dozens of posts since then! I've even started another RP! I've given no indication that I'm leaving.

If you do chose to still invade, then you'll lose. I'll have no qualms telling Lil miss exactly how to use all the defenses I've set up in Deneb, and he'll just blow you up. Or we'll both just ignore you. One or the other.

(OOC: Well I'm trying to figure out what's happening, so I'm not invading anybody...)

Senior Lieutenant Johner raised his haggard eyes, staring at the sensor screen in awe

"Captain....... I........ I......... I read a ship! It's inbound and not reading as eith Klonor or Lil miss! I think we have an outsider!"

"Oh thank God! Open a hailing channel!"

"Open, sir!"

"Attention unidentified ship, this is Captain Kerrson of the GDC Fenrir, please, help us! The Duke is dead, Deneb has been over run by Lil miss, we're all that's left of the Klonor Space Corps! We need your help! Please respond!"

Administrator-General Abron nul Karhoff stared at the galactic map on his desk. He didn't like what he saw.

"So, let me get this straight. Something is hideously wrong with the Klonor Empire, we have no idea what it is, and one of their military systems borders one of our colonies. Does that about sum it up, General Halan?"

"Yes, Sir. In addition, reports are coming in about fleet movements from several nations into Klonor territory. Large fleet movements."

"Advice, General?"

"We don't have any choice, Sir. We have to send in at least one task force to determine the situation. I suggest more."

Karhoff sighed heavily. "I hope nothing's happened to the Duke. All right General, send a task force to each of the following systems: Deneb, Ross-128, Regulus, and Epsilon Pegasi. I want to know what in the hell is going on over there."

OOC: A standard Guanyan task force consists of three Scimitar Warhips and three War Shrike Cruisers.

Location: Sol System; on board CF orbital shipyard "Chimera"

The Supernova launched from its berth aboard the CF orbital shipyard "Chimera." Within seconds it sped away from the shipyard, moving away from any vessels that may be harmed by the entry into hyperspace.

"Weapons, check. Engines...Check. Cool pilot shades...check." Lieutenant Becks was enjoying this a bit too much. He had the air of an elite fighter pilot. But flying something this size was not his forte. He wasn't used to it.

"Heh, yeah real funny, Becks." Flight officer Klein had known his friend Becks from the academy, he was glad that his best friend had been picked for this mission.

Becks suddenly got more serious. "Charge the reactor. I want to jump immediately."

"Aye, aye, Captain. Klein was having a little fun at his friend's expense. Reactor charging...50% and rising...60...70...80...90...100 percent charged. Opening hyperspace vortex now."

The Supernova's hyperdrive used brute force energy to rip a small, temporary hole in space-time. The Supernova itself entered the vortex as motes of green and blue light surrounded the portal, an obvious indication that it was near collapse.

Two days later, although to the crew it seemed only a few seconds, the Supernova emerged from hyperspace. Within seconds of emerging from the hyperspatial vortex, it was picked up by the sensitive Klonor sensors.

"Hey, Klein, I'm getting a transmission!" Becks announced.

"Oh yeah? Patch it through, let our passengers hear it too." Klein smilied at this comment.

The voice coming through the Supernova's speakers sounded tired, as though the poor man had been awake for hours.

"Attention unidentified ship, this is Captain Kerrson of the GDC Fenrir, please, help us! The Duke is dead, Deneb has been over run by Lil miss, we're all that's left of the Klonor Space Corps! We need your help! Please respond!"

The entire 'crew' of the Supernova listened in awe to the Captain's words. "What? Deneb overrun? The Duke of Klonor is dead? They're all that's left of the KSC!? Oh my god. Klein, open a channel." Becks said sternly

"Done." Klein replied. They worked together like a well-oiled machine.

"This is the USSCF vessel Supernova, we'll help however you can. Please tell us what is wrong." Becks said through the open com-link. He was still somewhat shocked at what he had heard.

OOC: This is going to be my last post for awhile, as over here it is almost 11, and I have to go to school tommorow. :grrr:. So I won't be able to respond until fairly late tommorow. :( Ohh well, see you tommorow.

"What's wrong? What's wrong?!?!?!?! I'll tell you what's wrong, the Empire is gone! Our entire government is gone! We're being invaded, torn apart by civil war, and collapsing into barbarism all at once! Please, just get us the hell out of here!"

The Fenris cruiser powers up its engines, moving towards the new ship

"They've blockaded the Jump-Node, we have no way out of the system. Please, help us!"

(OOC: Klonor, consider my previous posts moot...)

Ever since the disastrous conflict over the control of Ribos, the 5CN Combined Navy had kept a constant eye over the Duchy of Klonor. When news filtered in through second and third hand sources that Klonor's government was crumbling, the King of the Five Civilized Nations ordered a small patrol to investigate the truth of what was happening in Klonor.

To this end, a 5CN assault frigate equipped with additional engines and stripped of its weaponry was dispatched into the realm of Klonor.

The captain of the Victory, the heavily modified frigate sent into Klonor, Timothy Erikkson, was not happy. Although, his vessel was now one of the fastest ships in space, he was still worried about the lack of weaponry his vessel possessed. As he looked warily out of the viewports for the umpteenth time, he wondered what was going to greet them in the unknown that was Klonorian space.

Blazing at top speed, the Victory's long-range sensors quickly detected a pair of vessels in what was called by the 5CN as the Klaskjr System (known to Klonor as the Deneb System), one of them a Klonorian vessel. With orders to discover the true nature of the calamity, Captain Erikkson immediately ordered the Victory to close with the two vessels.

Immediately, a channel was opened.

OOC: Edited prior post, after much embarrassment.

Aboard the IKS Dajal, command ship of the Kajali battlegroup dispatched to investigate, the commander had ordered a message sent out.

[code:1:daed77a048]-begin transmission-
Source: IKS Dajal
Destination: Broad/Deneb

This is the IKS Dajal, of the Imperial Battlegroup Mejara. We have monitored unnerving events and fleet buildup in this system, and request a dialogue with any available official of Klonor. Transmission repeats in 5 seconds.[/code:1:daed77a048]

The commander paced back and forth. The Kajali battlegroup had come in at a literally unknown angle - once they had transited back into real space, they had detected a jump node nearly on the other side of the system from them.

"Hmmph. Comm, change the transmission."

"Aye sir... input has been routed to your terminal as before."

[code:1:daed77a048]-begin transmission-

Destination: Deneb

OOC: Don't have much time, so I'll have to make this quick.

IC: "They've blockaded the jump node? With what? Be advised that our ship doesn't have the firepower to break a blockade. We may have to call in backup, unless there is another way out of this system for you. How many crew do you have? If you aren't really concerned with your ship, we might be able to get your crew out of the system onboard our ship. We could make enough room in the cargo hold for...hold on, let me check. Hey Nick, how much space could we get if we jetisoned most of the cargo?" Beckes asked the ship's engineer, Nick Zatnek.

"Um....We can squeeze around twenty people inside the cargo hold, but only if we jetison the extra missiles." Nick replied.

Becks continued his transmission to the Klonor ship: "We can fit about twenty men in our ship."

The HMSS Sanctuary orbits lazily over the planet Proxima Centauri. The vast multi-kilometer long network of dry-docks, construction slips, testing facilities, and command areas is the pulsating heart and ever-moving mind of the Star Armada. In the central section of this vast station, Grossadmiral Sir Quentin Forrest, First Star Lord of His Majesty's Star Armada, stands in the room known as the Tank, the vast holoprojection and tactical information center of Sanctuary.
He lays the comp-pad down and looks at Grossadmiral The Honorable Hanse Steiner, commanding officer of the Office of Armada Intelligence.
"There has been no contact with Deneb in twenty-eight hours?" Forrest says looking at the vast projection currently zoomed in showing just how close Deneb is to Alpha Centauri.
"None, sir. And the embassy has sent no word by their courier, but we have news from other sources."
"The ESS?" Forrest says with a growl. The Ministry of External State Security has no love lost between it and the various branches of His Majesty's Armed Forces.
Steiner gives a reluctant nod, "Along with scattered intel from our own ships in that area, as well as from the ISSSF. All this is unconfirmed, but it seems that the Klonor Duke is dead, the central government destroyed, and that the Klonor Empire has fractured into tiny pieces or been invaded."
Forrest brows furrow, "We cannot allow this to happen so close to the Fatherland, Davion. I want run the risk of this chaos spreading. Inform Vizeadmial von Heinlien that the OSRPF is to stop all traffic from Klonor territories and get as much information as possible. Also alert Lord Adonis and the SSPZ that it is possible Klonor has collapsed, use the Nu-Space network instead of the couriers."
"Yes, sir."
Forrest brings manipulates the projection, bringing the Alpha Centauri system up, and then rapidly zooming to Proxima Centauri I, calling up the disposition of Armada forces around the Valinor homeworld. He finds what he is looking for.
He motions to Kapitan zur Sternen Severn, his de facto second in command and protege, "Contact the HMS Hawkwing, I want them to meet up with the destroyers Keppler and Dragoon and proceed to the Deneb system. They are to reestablish contact with our embassy there and send a courier back to Sanctuary after they have come to grasps with the situation."
"Yes, sir."

**********

Six hours later, a trio of Sagittarius-class destroyers pull away from Proxima Centauri I. They are lead by the HMS Hawkwing and Fregattenkapitan Schaulter. After clearing the orbit of Proxima I, the destroyers engage their Verner drives, ripping entrance points to jump-space that shine white and blue against the black velvet of space. The destroyers disappear, headed for the Deneb system.

OOC: I'm going to point out that you should have expected to be invaded Klonor. There are a lot of expansionist space nations, and you have some prime real estate. With your government gone, who wouldn't be tempted to grab a few systems? But anyway I'll just pull my forces out of Epsilon Pegasi.

OOC: Klonor, taking your advice.

IC: Emporer Johnston was shocked to hear communications with Klonor were down. He immediatley sent 10 members from the IGDA to investigate.

Far across space the transport neared it's destination. All the IGDA members knew this was big. How big, however, they had no idea. The entire Largentian Fleet was fully prepared for any action Klonor felt necissary. Minutes later they landed. They were greeted by guards who asked them their buisness in Klonor. They told them. They nodded and led them from the terminal.

They soon found themselves speeking with a large man who was apparently a high ranking diplomat. He described the situation to them. A wave of fear washed over their faces as one left to send a message to the Emporer. All it said was:

The Empire has fallen, blood will be shed...

Far away Johnston received the message. Rather than inquiring for more information he turned to High-Admiral Swanton and gave him a look that told him everything. IT was time to come to the aid of a nation who showed unwavering generosity towards them. Blood indeed would be shed in due time.

Current weapons onboard the Supernova:
2 Phased Particle beam cannons (PPBC)
2 Medium Neutron Beam Cannons
1 200mt Nuclear Torpedo Launcher (2 torpedos)
1 "Titan" Long range missile pod (three missiles)
2 Point defense laser systems

An explanation of CF shield systems;
The "Accumulator" shield system is in most respects a standard electron/energy shield system. The difference here being that when an accumulator equipped ship is hit with an energy weapon (any spectrum of light such as microwaves and laser beams.) the shield system actually bleeds the energy into the shield generator, actually improving shield stregnth with each successful hit. Of course, the shield generator can be overwhelmed by a large amount of energy (such as by a Klonor beam cannon firing on my ship.) Unfournately, the standard accumulator shielding system does not protect at all against physical attacks such as missiles and mass drivers.

The Advanced accumulators on board the Supernova, however, can stop mass drivers and similar weapons, although Kinetic energy still can't be asorbed. (The particle screening technology that forms the basis of the mass driver protection was reverse engineered from two alien ships I captured in another RP.) So while it will take a bit of work to down the ship with most small weapons, it is quite possible. (I made it like that because, otherwise, I'm sure my ship would get vaporized within five minutes of a firefight.)

Everybody, I'm going to ask the Mods to lock this thread. No, it's not because of the hissy fit that I was throwing before (which I do acknowledge was rather idiotic). It's because this thread really wasn't meant to be an RP, just something explaining what's going on in Klonor. I really didn't expect anything beyond a few 'Oh my God!' OOC posts. If necessary, other threads can be made for RP'ing relations with post-apocalypse Klonor, but this really isn't the place.
