OOC: I everyone I am new to Nationstates, just joined today and so to help stir-up some interest in my country I am posting this newflash.
IC: " Hello and Welcome to the Night Edition of the Maransune Times, our country's primary National News show. In today's chief news riots break out all over the capital of New Tokeyo as isolationists all over the city protests Maransune's applicaton for UN membership, which was sent earlier today. What was supposed to be a peaceful protest turned ugly when radical Iskuno Matamori shot policeman Tokugow Isadori in front of the Maransune National Assembly building in the city square. Following the death of Isadori the National Guard was sent in, which slaughtered the protesters without mercy, despite orders to only calm the sitution by a show of force. Violence continues in the streets on a much smaller right now in New Tokeyo and riots in other cities seems plausible, Prime Minister Tokari Mustasumo has this this to say on ongoing events: The riots in streets of New Tokeyo are nothing more then mere blowing off of steam by a minority of people, I trust and hope that cooler heads will prevail and peace will return. I have faith the majority of people support my plans to bring Maransune into this modren day and age."
