Hello, and welcome to the joint session Intelligence Report. We are here tonight to discuss an issue of great importantance, one that may decide the fate of the world and those who reside in it. Through months of Intellegence reports, we have found alarming developments in a region known as Gatesville. Thanks to allied nations work within this region, we have discovered what could possibly be a threat to peace throughout the word. Thanks to the work of superior agents, we have obtained these statments, made by members of Gatesville:

The U.N. is nothing but a puppet regime for all the peace loving left wing liberal regions in Nation States. They pass resolution after resolution after resolution to cement their lovely ways. No war they say, no torture they say, everyone hold hands and sing they say. They ride their high horses and are on top of the world, and mock and laugh at us. However my friends if they glance at the horizon they will see very dark clouds forming, the dark clouds of Gatesville. Their time will come vengeance will be ours when we unleash the Hammer of Gatesville down upon them. They will be shaking in their boots, cowering in their holes with the taste of fear rammed down their throats. We will have them on their knees begging for mercy, but in Gatesville we will show no mercy. We will rip out their hearts and steal their souls. Then my friends we will dance on their graves.

My puppet regime in the UN reports that the UN is now trying to mandate what constitutes a fair trial. This is another attempt to let the weak rule over the strong, the traitor survive while the loyal suffers, the murderer live happily while the innocent lie dead. I am disgusted that so many nations continue to give up their independance and soverignty in order to feel good about being part of this pathetic and weak 'world community'. No nation should bow to another except after defeat on the battlefield. To give up one's freedom by choice is repugnant, and yet so many nations are blind and do not realize they have enslaved themselves!! While Luca Blight shall never dirty itself by direct membership in the UN, I am keeping my puppet on very tight strings. The only way to defeat the UN is from within.

I long for the day when the skulls of the current UN leadership can be soundly crushed under my heel and the heels of all in Gatesville! Let that day be soon


The UN's purpose is to maintain overt stability. It refuses to acknowledge that countries have grievances that will not be settled by a treaty and a handshake. It's an idyllic organization suited for a near-paradise, not for the cutthroat world of the real. The leaders thereof are living in a dreamworld. It is time for us to wake them, to force nations to remove their swaddling in favor of fatigues and take up arms as the world demands of them. Strength, not diplomacy, is the means to stability. The UN will replace what it calls by arbitrary standards a dictatorship, and when the ensuing democracy falls in favor of a system that works, they will install a democracy identical to the first. They try to make true whath they wish were the truth. It is time to remove the stodgy remnants of the Cold War in favor of national independence. Down with the global village! Down with the UN!

We may have the power to encourage people to do something, but a traitor mod would have an even better chance of making something happen. First of all, most of this might have to happen in secret. You beleive that you can topple the UN. But in truth, a pure liberal mod can kill off a million more countries than all of your nations combined. I really don't know what to think, but I do know this; all of you flock to this region for the opiate of simple-mindedness. You cannot beleive that UN acts in the way it does, but do you leave it, no, you crab and moan and make frivilious little proclomations that you're going to crush the UN, kill the liberals, etc... You parade behind the fake banner of "destroying the liberal UN" but you really have nothing else better to do with your nations than warmonger. You've lulled yourselves into thinking that you are truly great and honorable and that you can conquer this world unto itself, but in truth, you lack a group mentality and feel the need to create a common cause. That cause is the forceible fall of the UN.

You may think you can conquer this world, and drive its citizens into submission with your jingoistic ways, but consider this; god is a liberal, so are his "minions." You cannot win this crusade, so don't try before it starts. Your policy of down with the UN is just smoke and mirrors. You cannot conquer the UN.

A messenger arrives about midday from Gatesville, bearing the mark of R-CG on his bare shoulder. He bows respectfully, then pulls something from his backpack, handing it to you. He then turns and departs, leaving only the white envelope and the black onyx stone pressed onto the seal with crimson wax. Within was a letter written in Olde English script which went something like this:

Salutations and Greetings from Gatesville.

I am not surprised to hear your complaints against us, sir, though I am surprised that this time around you have not been rewarded with the sighs of angry nations who agree with what you have tried to point out here. I would like to say, however, just in case there are those who will come across this thread and voice their opinions, that you have written yourself into a classic case of what college English classes call logical fallacy. In numerous places as well.

As there are those that may not understand what a logical fallacy is, I should give a brief explaination before continuing. Basically, fallacies are flaws in reasoning that occur when ideas are being argued not by logic, but by emotion. They are used to manipulate readers, hidden in what seem to be reasonable statements, by appealing to their hearts instead of their heads.

Now, though you may take this harder than I want you to, I will point out each of the fallacies you have displayed in this thread. Consider it constructive criticism, if you will. I do this only so that you will advance as a writer, and perhaps have more luck in your fight against us in the future. I would more than welcome the chance of having a logical debate on the goals and procedures of Gatesville with you one day, perhaps. So please take my advise to heart.

The first fallacy I recognized in your overall statement was the fact that it was a hasty generalization of Gatesville. You were stereotyping the entirety of our region by the statements of a few. What's worse, you were so very selective in the posts you chose to C&P that you completely ignored the posts of the higher authorities in Gatesville and focused on those that only fit your needs. The posts of the most radical and aggressive of Gatesville nations. That, my friend, is known as card-stacking. Taking the word of an underling over the word of the delegate of the region is also known as irrelevant authority. How can you say that the opinions of the most radical nations within Gatesville are more important than the word of their leader?

Then, when you finally mentioned the higher authorities (namely myself), you merely paraphrased what I had said instead of letting the readers see it for themselves and draw their own conclusions. That is a fallacy known as appealing to ignorance. You refused them the ability to read my post for themselves because you knew what I had said was logical as well as a statement that could easily diffuse your entire argument against us. You hoped that the readers of this thread knew nothing of Gatesville and thus wouldn't know whether what you were saying about what I had posted was correct or flawed.

Lastly, you spent much too much time using our words against us by pulling them up out of context, and much too little time making your point. You came on strong in the beginning, with a fairly logical stand against us, but you filtered off into un-cited statements you just happened to pull off the board. Most of them didn't even have the name of the nations attached. Can you understand that all your work was wasted simply because you relied much too heavily on un-provable quotes? You dug a hole and buried yourself by the end of the rant. And I am afraid it was a rant. You were completely biased, showing that you haven't even considered the other side of the argument. And because you had no antithesis showing the good aspects of Gatesville (there are good aspects in everything), you basically wasted your time as well as that of the reader. I believe you can understand that point, now.

Now, I do want to reiterate that this was only a little constructive criticism from me to you on how you approached this argument. I don't want you to give up or to change sides, I just want you to improve your standpoint so that you sound less like a fruitcake and more like a liberal nation who is opposed to the way Gatesville is being run. You have valid points in your arguments, but you go about proving them in the wrong manner. Now, I won’t tell you the right way to do so, of course, because that would be like Lizzy Bourdon’s father giving her the axe she eventually kills him with. I want you to figure it out yourself. I’m only here to point you in the right direction.
