IC:

The 300 Years War

From 1650 to 1950, Dregruk was in a constant state of war with its neighbour of Troon. What started off as an innocent accident with cartography, soon spiraled rapidly out of control, eventually resulting in the deaths of 40 million of Dregruk's soldiers. Troon still refuses to turn over casualty rates.

February 14th, 1650
Troon offers Dregruk the chance to co-write the first map of their nations in relation to the region. Due to their poor advancement in the fields of general science and cartography, Dregruk accepts and sends its finest to compare notes.

February 16th, 1650
Map is started. However, the notes differ on onr particular area of the Troon-Dregruk border. Further investigation reveals a community in this area that is both Troonish and Dregrite. Dregruk immediately declares this area as its own. Troon disagrees, and the Dregruk cartographers are expelled from Troon.

February 17th, 1650
In a brutal act of revenge for the insult of having their brightest citizens expelled from Troon, Dregruk executes every person of Troonish heritage in Dregruk. Mass murder was conducted without the batting of an eyelid. This is probably one of the most embarrassing event in Dregruk's history.

February 19th, 1650
Troon seizes all towns and cities on the Dregruk-Troon border. A state of war is declared between the two nations. The stage is set for one of the most vicious and bloody wars in Dregruk and Troon's history...

February 23rd, 1650
Dregruk reclaims the towns on the Troon-Dregruk border. The Troonite forces are pushed back towards the capitol, Muirthemne. The war appears to be an easy victory, with even more land for Dregruk at very little loss of life.

February 24th, 1650
Dregruk forces stopped at town of Freich. All forces that enter the town are decimated by a new enemy. This is the first recorded battle of The Emperor's Guardians, Troon's finest soldiers.

February 25th, 1650
The Dregruk Elites, the best soldiers Dregruk has to offer, are sent to Freich. The battle has become a challenge to the people of Dregruk, as the local populace begin to put up fanatical battles to the death. Newly formed units are all sent to Freich as part of field training.

March 18th, 1650
Freich eventually falls, at great expense of life within the Dregruk army. Back at Dregruk, more people join the army, seeing the war as a crusade against evil.

September 21st, 1650
Muirthemne still stands, as Dregruk forces fail to push towards the capitol. Intensity of fighting subsides to moderate skirmishes for the next 100 years.

August 19th, 1752
Dregruk makes a massive attack on the Troon border, cutting a huge swathe into the Empire's forces. Dregruk begins using a new tactic; (As quoted by the head of Dregruk's Army in 1753) "One soldier is weak. 1000 soldiers are strong. When you become a soldier, you are no longer a person; you are a statistic." Dregruk sacrifices thousands of soldiers to take land. Troon cannot believe the sheer volume of troops that surge forwards in battle.
