Public Executions: Morally Reprehensible or a Good Thing?

The purpose of this poll is twofold.
One is to see various nations ideas and reactions to the idea of public executions. Personally I'm all for executions. In fact they don't even have to be strictly executions. I personally want to bring back coliseums and gladiatiors. Let various violent criminals fight it out for the public enjoyment and allow betting to further stimulate the economy. So what's the world's opinion?
Second this is just a quick way of introducing myself to the NationStates forums with hopefully some nice controversy.
Greetings all.

Economy boost good. Less wasting money on prisons also good. Entertainment for the masses, gooder than good. All in all I think this is "helluva good."

We could make Galdiator trading cards, kids could collect the cards with their favorite criminals on them. We could also have public executions where an audience member could choose an original death for the criminal.

Roania has no 'public' executions. What it does have is private disappearances and torturing.

That's the ticket right there. No better way to deal with criminals and terrorists.

Exactly. Terrorists should be executed and I don't know what should be for killers, probable how many they killed and so on.
