LRR claims Quaoar

The LRRSF today has set up a base on the small planetoid of Quaoar (http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2002/07oct_newworld.htm) in the sol system, seeing as not many people are in on it. The base will be used as a shipyard and trading outpost, and any visitors will be most welcome.

[ooc: If one wanted, a case could be made against a Gurlanai hive on Sedna- but the hive on Quaoar is indisputable. Ergo...]

Klaxons- or the equivalent sound thereof- rang through the tunnels of the local hive where workers abode.

Someone had come to disturb them.

Soft-shelled insectoids scuttled about madly in the low gravity, prepping ships for launch, activating internal defenses, and sealing off corridors to ensure the safety of the Drones and Queens.

Mere hours after the arrival of the LRR ships, cryovolcanos began spewing liquid nitrogen before huge sections of surface ice vaporized or collapsed completely, revealing the hangars beneath. Shaking shards of methane and ammonia ice from its hull, a pitch-black Heavy Cruiser lifted into orbit.

But do I really want a jupiter that is barely 3 million miles from its sun?

In that case case, I claim a couple comets here, a few asteroids there, an old wreck once and a while.

Honestly, finding these 2000-km rocks in the Kuiper Belt seems almost a monthly thing these days. So realistically, there must be hundreds of them out there we've yet to find, if not thousands or tens of thousands. So... you want one?

Make one up. It's that simple, really. It's out there - we just haven't found it yet in RL. :)

Dude. I left Triton. You can have it. I still own it technically, but since its only colony was teleported 50,000 light years away by an alien force, and its inhabitants enslaved... yeah, It's pretty much vacant.

I was the only one on there... though The TRSN has one station in orbit... and.. there was some other group doing a dig on the far side of the planet... i can't remember who... but other than that, yeah, I can let you have it.

Triton is Neptune's moon, by the way.

I keep like 1 Battlegroup there just to keep it claimed.

But since you already coexist with us on Zara... Triton will be an easy negotiation

*cough* Uh... of course, I don´t claim the moon (Nor do I recognise claims to complete moons), but 'alone' is definitely... errr... wrong. *Hugs colony*

That might be me. I'm mining the gas of Neptune.

I think... one of you asked me to be careful when I established a shipyard in orbit of Neptune. I'd check my archives but they've been wiped off... :?

We don't need planets- just small bases here and there. Big enough to build and service big ships. Since most of the LRR futuretech populace lives on earth or is nomadic, a planet doesn't do much for us. But we've already got plenty of those small outposts. Some are on asteroids and comets, others are stations tucked away in remote corners of the galaxy.
