AP Los Angeles, California — Sovereign California.
The military forces of the Sovereign Federation of California is withdrawing its forces from the republics of West Africa, South East Africa, Angola, Southwest Africa, and West Zaire after armed conflicts erupted in cities in those republics killing 139 soldiers and wounding 47. Californian forces are still mobilizing its forces for a steady withdrawal from the Transvaal Republic.

In latest negotiations the Sovereign Federation is asking the leaders of the region if it would be possible for a co-administration of the Transvaal, if the deal goes through California will withdraw its military forces from the Transvaal and only allow Californian civilians to travel to the Transvaal.

Colonel Marcus Johnston has been quoted as saying that the Californian Armed Forces should be evacuated from those republics within the next three weeks.

I didn't think there was many countries left in Africa that haven't become Belem colonies. Intresting.

Belem is willing to assist in Co administration of Transvaal. We can have colonial troops within the area in under a week.

Renate von Saucken disengages from simulation, sweaty with stress. She looks across the room at three organics, five shadows and a collective avatar. "That's it. The Californians are concentrating on the North and have agreed to withdraw. Of course, the concessions we've had to make are just the start of it. The Transvaal we can manage easily - hell, there's pro-Territory sentiment enough in many areas. As for the North, Californian efforts are more like our own imperialism by aid in Nigeria..."

She's had practice and doesn't even wince at the blatant exposition the writer's forcing her into.

Within minutes, Territory advance teams are moving - within hours, actual forces.

The Rebublic commends the withdrawal of Californian military assets from Sub-Saharan Africa. At this time, with the blessing of California and Alaska, the Republic of the Territory is moving military and police assets into the affected areas. The handover process is proceeding smoothly.

We caution Belem against attempting to perpetuate its colonial imperialism.

Three massive tiltwing craft carrying part of 1306 Combat Engineers Battallion touch down neatly, if not smoothly. Men, women and machines stream out. Elsewhere, there are cordial if somewhat strained meetings with Californians. Here, an airmobile infantry battallion is setting up shop as a counterinsurgency force.

Niccolo Piccolomini smells the air as his engineers and their machines erupt into organized chaos. Bounding lightly up a small hill to do work an officer in most armies wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, he looks off toward where Piemburg would be on Homeline... and where there appears to be an analogue on Mainline. An analogue that had had minimal contact with the colonial administrations...

Niccolo Piccolomini smells a rat.

As he gets the feel of the terrain, the three cargo birds scream to life and they launch to the Northwest... sleek attack and assault whirlybirds flying a crosshair ensign over a smaller Territory leopard skull flying overhead. From his vantage, he thinks he can spot some of the hard-faced humans the assault craft previously disgorged. His architect's vision superimposes itself on the actual terrain as he begins to juggle numbers.

Edit: Footnote: "North" in the top bit of exposition means north of the Territory - that is, sub-Saharan C&A claims. For some reason, there have been no protests about any C&A noises involving areas north of the Sahara...

Belem should have preference over the region called the Transvaal republic since it was originally controlled by Belem and then was given to C&A as a sign of goodwill, witht he withdrawel of C&A from the region it should return to its rightful owner.

The areas presently being vacated by California and Alaska are becoming protectorates. The so-called "Holy Imperial Empire" of Belem has no business there.

In point of fact, as far as the Territory Co-Prosperity Sphere is concerned the "Holy Imperial Empire" has no business inflicting its vicious parody of government on any sentient being.

The "Holy Imperial Empire" is not the "rightful owner" of this land.

[OOC: So what do you claim in continental Africa? Oh, and as for the vicious parody crack: you're not big on civil rights are you?]

OOC: Imperial holdings are half of South Africa(originally all of SA half which was given to C&A who claimed swaziland and Lesthola afterwards which I didn't control.) Mozumbique, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Chad and I believe Niger(?) I have to check my files on my home PC to see if I went that far. Claims were made in late october early November. Ill see if I can find them, they probably were purged though by now.

and civil what? :D

OOC: Rights... um, you may not be familiar with the concept. ^_^

Well, I might start with noting that if you can't keep track of your nation's foreign holdings without a computer they weren't significant enough to your plot... and also that NS Africa isn't some wogland that the Great White Colonialist can randomly conquer.

Anyways, apart from a vague notion that Chellis had African holdings (Mozambique) and some Mediterranean and Northeast goings-on I was unaware there was much NS activity concerning Africa. Check http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2931683#2931683 for a rundown on how I see my neighborhood.
