The advisor got up and walked out. as he left, a soldier shot him.

"I told you he was fired. Now, any other GOOD advice, other than return the Citizens? we need them for our tests."

A young advisor got to his feet. "Well I suggest we put the military on alert. we may be facing war."

"Good! a very useful suggestion. You are now chief advisor. Try not to mess it up like Mr goody two shoes here."

The Imperial Navy is preparing to launch an invasion of Ocavion II. (Are you landlocked or an island?)

OOC: It's a huge desert island, with 4 major cities-there's a garrison in every city. that's it.

In response to The Imperial Navy's agression, 200,000 troops have been put on alert. SAM sites have been activated on the coast, airbases are preparing to scramble, and tanks are manuvering into position.

The Octavion fleet (Consisting of 5 Carriers, 20 Destroyers and 2 Battlecruisers) has been sent to engage any Imperial fleet that tries to break through and land troops.

OOC: I have no probs with future tech-use what you want, except WMD's, and orbital bombardment.

IC: 400,000 troops are being prepped to attack Octavion II, and they will be sent inland to land on the beaches, by a mixture of dropship and Beach landing.

The Imperial Naval fleet will make way by clearing the Octavion fleet out of the way using cruise missiles, then will take out the SAM sites. when we have air superiority, we will bomb the cities defences, then occupy them.

As Commander Romendacil was scanning television channels he had happened across a news report. It had claimed that the Island nation of Octavion II had begun to systematically "cleanse" the nation of "Foriegn influences." And this made him laugh, it was like hearing one of the fables that were known of the old regime. "People disappearing in the night, genocide...cultural superiority. Hah, this is nostalgia, nothing more can be said of this." Romendacil had said to himself as he switched off the television set.

On Octavions response, the order for invasion has been signed. at 1300 hours Imperial Standard time, Imperial Troops have been emberking in the fleet. their mission, the occupation of Octavion II.

The attack groups of the fleet have moved forward, and the first cruise missiles have been launched on direct target for the Octavion Navy. If this turns into a war of attrition, they are bound to lose.

a further 200,000 reserves have been put on alert, in case re-enforcements are required. Analysts predict the capture or surrender of Octavion II within the month.

Aboard the OIIS Deathbringer:

"Incomming missile. Alert, Incomming missile."

4 of the Carriers lauched their tomohawks back at the advancing Imperial Fleet.

The missiles fell. one struck the Knife, one struck the Razor, 2 struck the Pain and 3 struck the Deathbringer...

The deck was rocked with explosions, and many men dived overboard. On the bridge, alarms sounded everywhere.

"DAMAGE REPORT!"

"The ship's going down sir, and so's the Knife and the Razor. The Pain reports heavy damage!"

"Dammit. They knew where to hit us. at least we got our missiles off beforehand. Abandon ship!"

4 of the great carriers of the Octavion fleet sank beneath the waves, taking some crew with her, while others survived.

We will have brought our aerodynes as close to Octavion as possible by then, and will proceed to execute bombing runs asap. This will allow you to focus your own efforts on the ground assault and the dropship landings.

Under the Emergency Powers Act (2000),the Government of the Community of Mafikeng is also empowered to commit troops abroad without Parliamentary approval. I am pleased to inform you that the Community will be sending 2,000 peacekeeping troops to Octavian II following the successful conclusion of the war.

We have recently bought several new frigates and troop transports during a refit of the navy. We will be fully able to transport our men to the field of combat under our on steam.

Following on from this morning's resolution,my Government has requested me to open all ports and airstrips to coalition military forces. As Commander-in-Chief,I have ordered such measures. The full resources of the Community stand ready to aid your enterprise in whatever way we can.

A further 12 cruise missiles have been launched on The fleet and Octavion beach defences.

As soon as a gap has been cleared, landings will begin immediatly. Then the Vortex corporation can begin their bombings.

7 of our SAM sites, our last carrier, and 1 destroyer have been lost.

The fleet survivors have been given the order to close with the Imperial Fleet and sink it.

The gap in our SAM site defences has been filled with old-style mobile Flak cannons. Not as effective, but all we can muster.

Our troops have been redeployed to the areas weakened by attack, in case The Imperial Navy attempts to make landings.

Also, a resistance group has sprung up form nowhere. it is now being put down by our finest troops, the Octavion home guard.

Glory to The Premier!

After the Octavion loss of their carriers, we have picked up the Octavion fleet approaching on radar.

Our ships are about 5 miles off the coast of Octavion II, And fighters have been scrambled to sink the Octavion fleet while they are away from their air and anti-air support.

It will be a slaughter...

(120 Fighters have been dispatched. each carries a payload of 10 Plasma bombs.)

We have lost contact with the fleet. we can only assume the worst...

our artillery has been moved into position, in case The Imperial Navy attempts to bombard the coast. If they do, we will be able to fight back. Imperial Troops could begin landings any second. the nation is on maximum alert.

Imperial troops are being prepped for drop. The fleet is being sent in, to bombard the artillery being deployed against it. We now go live to the bridge of the Lazarus.

"Yes David i'm live from the front line, and as you can see the bombardment is already underway! The Artillery is landing pretty close now, although I herd we caused some very bad damage to the Octavion shoreline defence! 2 Destroyers have gone down already, and 2 carriers have suffered heavy damage, but it looks like soon we'll be landing troops!"

The coastal defences have been severely damaged, opening a 2 mile long open space. we now have a serious problem. troops are being rushed to the gap, in an attempt to stop landings and drops. The Imperial Navy shall not pass.

Imperial troops have been flown into the gap fighting. 10,000 landing troops have made it to the beach, a further 2,000 by dropship.

The 12,000 man force has encountered feirce resistance, and although we expect some casualties, the beach should be secured. A full casualty report will be avaliable shortly.

"This is Guha squadron to TIN Command, we're leading the TVC formation. We're currently circling near your position, outside the Octavion coast. Please confirm that we can initiate our bombing runs."

The fighter aerodyne slowly circled around a fixed point somewhere in the ocean, determined by satellite navigation systems. The three wings of TVC aerodynes contained 75 craft each, and were scattered across a large area in a rough V shaped formation. The first wing would eliminate any remaining AA defences, after which the other two would follow up and start targeting ground assets. The bombers in those wings were heavily defended by fighter squadrons, carrying the standard Mosquito II missiles, designed solely for the purpose of eliminating enemy air assets. Flying into a light cloud, the squadron leader saw a small light flare up on his control pannel, indicating that a return message from the Imperial troops was coming in...

"Confirmed TVC bombers. you may commence your runs."

We have secured the beach. 787 men lost their lives to secure that beach for the Imperial Navy to land the army on. The full army is now being deployed to our secure beachhead.

The fleet has moved off, using long range artillery to batter the enemy defences along the coast, to allow more frequent and safe bombing runs. In the meantime, Imperial Bombers have been constantly bombing the capital and the other cities. Military targets are a priority, to keep civilian casualties to a minimum.

ic: The 8th Light Infantry Brigade (Airborne) is being prepared to be sent in on modified C-130 Hercules. With 2,700 men (approx.) in the brigade, it is a large operation, with 30 aircraft being required for transport, as well as at least 60 long range fighter for escort. After the operation the 12th Militia Division will be sent in to assist in any peacekeeping/occupation operations.

all avaliable troops have been sent to attempt to hold the Imperials in their beachead. All avaliable tanks have also been dispatched, as well as bombing runs.

We demand that the Imperialist agressors leave our soverign nation now, as they have no right to be here.

You are in no position to make threats Octavion. besides, We have a perfectly good reason. you have killed citizens of our great nation, and you must pay for what you have done. Surrender.

"Allright, we have green light. Inform central command that we are commencing our runs, and divert all power to the engines."

The aerodynes halted their circling, and in loose formation flew towards the shores where the gap in the Octavion defences had been created. Each of them carried full equipment, including electronic countermeasures, heavy armament and advanced sensors. The first wave consisted of Delta and Vulture fighters armed with AtA and AtG missiles. Soon after entering Octavion airspace, they launched full volleys of missiles, targeting enemy fighters and ground assets alike. Behind them, the second and third wing followed, with bombers being protected by fighter craft on the flank.

Soon, things would get very quiet very fast.

30 C-130 Hercules flew over Octavian. Inside these aircraft, the 8th Light Infantry (airborne) prepared to jump into the state Octavian itself.

Hundreds, even thousands of 'chutes appeared outside one of the four main Octavian cities (can I have a city name, please), preparing to blockade any forces inside it. With Imperial Navy and Vortex Corporation air power controlling the skies overhead, they feared nothing.

Combat with the enemy and Imperialist bombing runs have caused the deaths of over 1 million men, women and children.

The city of Falcra was bombed by The Volga and The Vortex corporation. Most of the citizens were killed by falling rubble and fire.

All troops have been drawn back to make a last stand in the Octavion Capital of Jurrid. Several anti-air batteries and the cities own SAM sites have been activated, while the surviving 70,000 troops have dug in a complicated circuit of trenches to turn Jurris into a fort.

We will hold here until the agressors ever give up and go away, or break through and kill every one of us.

On the bad side, every man, woman and child in the abandoned cities have opened into rebellion, killing all police officials in the cities and cities have declared their independance. Octavion II may fall...

Imperial troops are pursuing survivors of Octavion's army back to their capital. A few smaller groups of soldiers have broken into groups of 5,000, and are on their way to Secure the abandoned cities and Restore order.

Cruise missiles will be targeted at Octavion II's SAM sites. Octavion II has one last chance to surrender. Then we will unleash hell.

Surrender now. You don't have to die. We just want to place your leader Under arrest.
