This is LRRBC, your source for news, both internally and internationally. Broadcasting on 90.9 WHRG Gdansk

"Thanks for joining us, I'm Judy Swallow of LRRBC world news. Today, at approximately 5 o'clock AM, a Coup d'Etat was attempted by General Jochim Piper, commander of the anti-terrorism special operations brigade, consisting of 5,000 soldiers. We're now taking you live to the scene in Warsaw. Bill, what's the situation?"

*The regular opening sequence sets the stage for the news broadcast. The camera zooms onto a young man in a helmet and flak jacket. In the background, smoke rises from the houses of parliament, several blocks away but still in plain view. A river and rows of apartments are visible from the news team's vantage point. The city looks like it has just rained. Trees are starting to bud, but not much. The reporter's hair blows with the wind. Men dressed in green overalls with what appear to be divisional patches run from building to building in the streets below, on the near side of the river. Sporadic gunfire can be heard.*

"Thanks, Judy. From what we have heard, a force of troops under General Jochim Piper has taken control of much of Warsaw. While it appears as though the Prime Minister and most of the government has escaped, many government officials have not and are being held as hostages. Reserve infantry batallions have set up a perimeter around the captured portion of the city, but from what the infantrymen have told me, their attempts on attacking the city have mostly failed. One sergent told me, 'The ATSO troops are some of the best trained light infantry in the world. And fiercely loyal. We're reservists, mostly under 25 or over 40. Now we're good, don't get me wrong, but we can't take them alone.' From what we can see, the ATSO troops have set up barricades around their portion of the city. General Piper has not yet made it clear why he has attempted this coup, but he has said that he will fight to the death before he surrenders, and that he has many more supporters, of special concern for the military because he has only used 1 out of 5 ATSO batallions....."

Suddenly, a heavy amount of automatic gunfire breaks out.

"We'll get back to you, Judy."

The scene cuts to the news anchor.

"Reports have just come in that the second mechanized division, consisiting of several mechanized infantry and several armored brigades, which is one of the units in charge of the defense of the Warsaw-south miliary district, is en route to the city from its positionsnear the southern foot of the mountains. Also, sporadic fighting has broken out on many of the east coastal islands. More details about that when they are available. This is Judy Swallow for LRRBC, stay with us."

It cuts to a message calling up the reserve infantry batallions for the Warsaw area and the east coast.

(OCC: Since any embassys would be located in that area, if you have an embassy in LRR this should be interesting, since they're gonna try to take forigen nationals hostage. Also, feel free to RP journalists or military advisors, or pledge support for General Piper. Just do something!!!!!!!!!!)

In Warsaw

Reserve infantrymen quickly set up a perimeter around the island that the rebel forces had occupied. The reserve infantrymen set up MGs in the roads facing the river, but are careful to stay out of houses. Sandbagged MG and mortar emplacements can soon be seen facing the river.

On the other side, the ATSO troops stay hidden inside apartments that they have occupied. Once and a while, an ATSO trooper will fire towards a concentration of reserve infantrymen, causing them to run for cover. Things were not happening fast. Overhead, Jaguar IIs loiter around, waiting for rebel vehicles to get into the open where they can bomb them without greatly damaging the city.

RI lieutenant Hendricks Bradford runs over from a cluster of buildings to a pair of vehicles parked right up next to the buildings that line the street. The BRDM-2 and John Henry APC consititute the vehicle resources of the Warsaw Reserve Infantry, and are a common sight in the streets. Now, they had shed their sirens and police paint job.

Lt. Bradford reaches the cover of the BRDM just in time, as a burst of 7.62mm rounds chews up the street beside him. He leans into the open back door.

"Any word on when reinforcements will be able to get here?"
"Nope. From what it looks like, the entire country is in revolt!"
"Damn!."
"There's a group that's trying to cross the bridge now."

Hendricks runs up to the nearest MG emplacment, just in time to see the pair of BRDM-2s try to cross one of the bridges. The going is smooth along the bridge, but once they reach the other side, at least 10 RPG rockets impact the bridge, blowing a big hole in it. Gunfire spews from the windows onto the armored cars, which try to drive away. One is knocked over by a mine, and ATSO troops run out of the buildings towards the opening hatches of the upturned BRDM.

"Fire on the rebels!"

The MG crew opens up on the ATSOs, and many fall to the ground. Other infantrymen fire on them with Ak-47s, but the return fire from building-based ATSOs makes the reserve infantrymen dive from their firing positions, as the accurate MG fire from the rebels chews up their sandbagged positions. The rebels and the reserve infantry are deadlocked. But fortunately, the well-defended, walled city of Warsaw was, for the time being, safe from the rest of the battles taking place all over the country.

On the Island of East Crenshaw, northeast LRR

The coastal artillery troop on East Crenshaw never knew what hit them. One minute, they were asleep in their tents, the next minute, heavily armed men were shooting them. Those who weren't killed right away tried to put up resistance, but to little use. The ATSO troops who attacked them knew what they were doing, even using slienced weapons as to not attract the attention of anyone in the area, so speed was essential.

At the East Crenshaw Airfield, the only major problem is encountered. The LRRAF personnel at the airfield saw the ATSOs coming, and protected their aircraft to great effect. While their two Land Rovers were eventually destroyed, they formed themselves quite a defensive perimeter around the squadron of MiG-29KIs which they were assigned to protect.

Overall, the operation looked like it would be a success. The LRRAF troops could be dealt with once the howitzers were captured. All did not go as planned, however. A bloody artillery corporal came staggering out of his tent, and took down several ATSO troops with his non-slienced Ak-47 before being killed. Another hurled a grenade into the 155mm ammunition dump.

Boom.

On the Island of West Crenshaw, northeast LRR

Andrei Ivanovich sleeps somewhat soundly in his bunk bed in the family cabin. His naval uniform hangs on the wall to his right. Being an experienced fisherman, he is the commander of the local patrol squadron, of five Hauk class PTs and one Stockholm class MB. Being a mild insomniac, he always has trouble getting to sleep. He had also learned to largely ignore the sounds of the night. But there was a persistant pecking sound in the distance.

"Damn 'coons! SHUT UP OUT THERE!!!!!"

BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

The explosion, a good 15 miles away, across the water to East Crenshaw, or was it North Crenshaw? The island landscape that makes up the LRR coast is full of explody things.

Ivanovich jumps out of his bed, and wacks his head on his ceiling. He falls to the floor, unconcious, only to be awakened several minutes later by a tall, arabic man in a nor' easter.

"Andrei! Come on! We just got word, there's some kind of rebellion going on!"

Andrei, believing that it is all a devilishly devised training manouver, follows along. He just manages to grab his cap and nor' easter before he is dragged out of the cabin. He and Ibrahim, his boat's coxswain, run down the snowy road to the boat dock. The other crews are already there, most in their pyjamas and bath robes. The crew of Andrei's boat, the PT-292, were already starting up the motors. Crewmen already had the guns manned, and were fully kitted with personal weapons. On the flying bridge, two crewmen who usually manned the zodiac are in charge of a pair of RPK-74 LMGs, which they use to fortify the bridge.

Andrei and Ibrahim hop aboard just before the Hauk class PT shoves off, to join the other five ships in the 24th MTB squadron. He and Ibrahim arrive in the bridge, and the PT-262 heads for the front of the column.

"All ships, this is lead. Make for the fire on East Crenshaw."

The PT squadron motors out towards the island, and quickly covers the 15 mile distance. They find, however, that this was no accident.

"DOWN!"

MG fire rebounds off the armored side of the bridge. The two boat technicians return fire with their RPK-74s, killing the RPG trooper assigned to take out their boat. The 40mm cannon gunners also fire into the muzzle flashes, apparently causing a retreat at that area.

"Get outta here, Ibrahim!"

Ibrahim turns the boat around and heads out from the island. After a while, the firing stops. The other boats of the squadron join them. One has smoke billowing out of it from an RPG hit in the bow. The other boats have small arms damage, but have all evaded heavy weaponry. The stockholm, equipped with an excellent rapid-fire cannon, is still within firing range of the coast, and shells the ATSOs until none are in range.

"This is missile squadron 12, inbound to East Crenshaw, calling MTB 24. Do you copy, over?"
"We copy. Be advised- the island has hostile forces on it. Assuming the howitzer battery was captured, hostile forces with heavy weaponry. As long as this snow keeps up, they shouldn't be able to see us."

In the distance, the shillouettes of three large craft come into view. The largest is quickly identified as a Bora II class corvette, with armement the envy of many frigates. Flanking it are two Skjold MOD missile PTs. Their foreward CDM is the most distinguishable feaure of their hull. The massive Bora drifts up to Andrei's Hauk. The Bora's captain calls down from the foreward hull of his ship.

"Ahoy! What seems to be the problem here?"
"Hostiles on East Crenshaw! Unsure of numbers, but in the thousands."
"Thousands? This is great, ain't it? Do you have any troops with you?"
"No, but the 34th mechanized is in the area."
"Good. Henry, contact the 34th mechanized brigade."
"Aye, sir!"

From the houses of Parliament, Warsaw

General Jochim Piper walks up to the podium, flanked by a group of ATSO troops. A gaggle of international TV crews stands at the back of the hall, their cameras aimed at the general.

"People of the world, I would like to announce the overthrow of the government of Lunatic Retard Robots. We are tired of these...(he holds back a swear)....pinko liberal bastards in charge, and we now proclaim Lunatic Retard Robots a military democracy. Let me inform you, we have more than one half million troops at our disposal, the best soldiers around. All troops belonging to the sorry excuse for a government that was in these buildings, surrender now or be killed without mercy. I call on all sensible, conservative governments of this world to aid us in establishing our rights. Too long have we been forced to conform with this pinko regime, too often have our homes been broken into, our possessions confiscated. Its time to show these pinko bastards how to fight a war!"

Cheers erupt from the HoP chamber, mostly filled with ATSO troops.

(OOC: I seem to remember an embassy being established a few months back... after one of the minor wars if I remember correctly. Do you greatly mind some space-tech[no ortillery, just dropships or the like] or should I just go full modern?)

Ordin balled up the paper and tossed it into the trash. "Bad fscking timing, no ships in orbit for a pickup."

The marines outside had retreated into the embassy, and had started preparations downstairs and on the roof. The embassy had a modest compliment of 30 troops, and enough guns to arm most of the clerks. But they had only the once a year practice/qualification and they wern't killers. They should be able to repel raiding parties, but anything else... well, they would give it their best shot. Ordin looked at the pistol they had given him, "well... at least I spend time in the range to relax."

(Weapons: mostly SMG(think next generation M-16s and MP-5s) and belt-loaded MGs for doors and strategic windows. Pistols are 9mm automatics.)

I think I also have an embassy.

Hattian Embassy: LRR

The embassy's complement of 55 Marines rushed around the embassy, preparing to hold the fort until they could be evacuated or reinforcements came. The ambassador set a message to play from the loud speakers. "Do not attack the embassy, an attack on the embassy is an attack on Hattia." The gates were shut and the windows boarded up as they waited for an attack.

(All of the people in the embassy are armed with HAR-4 Battle Rifles, though only the marines have had real training.)

Haton: Prime Minister's officer

"Damn military bastards. Acting Prime Minister Gorshkov grimaced as he downed another shot of vodka. He stood up and made his way to the teletype machine.

Official Message from Hattia to the rebels of LRR

Hattia does not appreciate rebellions in our allies, you will stand down now or be destroyed...

Ambasador Fuyutsuki sighed, looking out the window.

"Anouther problem with LRR, you'd think that they would get their act together" he said, turning to his four body guards. "Kakashi, what can you tell me about the current situation?"

"it's not good" the quiet man said, kneeling by the roaring fireplace. "They are advancing into the area in force, and we don't have the resources availible to launch a full on assault to break out of here. . . we will have to resort to subtler methods."

"so" the ambasador said, "it has come down to sneaking out of here with our tails between our legs. A pity project Evangelion isn't finished yet, we could use the support. What do you think our chances are?"

"You want the optimistic outlook, or the realistic one?"

Fuyusuki raised an eyebrow, looking over the four Uchuukuukan warriors. Though they attempted to appear brave, they were still only children, and though they were some of the best trained and most powerful of the shadowy uchuukuukan warriors in recent history, their lack of experience had landed them in what was supposed to be a safe, non-combatant possition. It seemed though, that blood would soon be spilled, and innocence lost.

"Give me the optimistic outlook" he said a smirk forming on his pointed face "I feel lucky today"

"At best, I figure we'll all be killed."

". . . and. . . realisticly?"

"we'll be killed slowly"

The ambasador scowled.

"so are you saying we've not got any chance at all?"

"none sir" the dark garbed man said, reaching into one of his many pockets for a throwing dart "none at all"

"then we'll make one. . . Sakura, Naruto, Sasuke, you three make sure the guardsmen at the gate are able to keep supresion fire on any rebel that so much as touches that fence, then, meet Kakashi and I at the rear exit, there is a landing pad across the river that is still held by LRR loyalists, if we can reach it, we'll be able to call for evac. ORder the guardsmen to cover our retreat, before linking up with any pockets of loyalists on this side of the river, but above all, if this building is to be over run, have the fusion generators detonate as soon as all our boys have reached minimum safty zones. . . if we can't have it, no one will."

The three younger ninja nodded, before rushing downstairs with orders. Kakashi looked him squarly, his headband covering his right eye.

"you know this is a fool's errand"

"Better to die trying than surrender to those monsters." Fuyutsuki said, grabbing his personal side arm. "let's go"

In Warsaw

Lt. Bradford surveys the landscape of the far side of the river from the top of a building, along with a pair of MG crews and a squad of reserve infantry. Though they stay out of view, ATSO troops look back at the reserve infantrymen with a much more malicious eye. While the reserve infantrymen were somewhat lacking in training and ferocity, the ATSO troops were strong in both.

On the bridge, a Reserve Infantrymen walks to the other side with a white flag. The ATSOs do little about it, but a BTR-80 can be seen coming up the road. It stops just in front of the RI trooper, and a single black-clad ATSO trooper walks up to him.

"I need to see your commander, we have something to ask."
"F*ck off."

The ATSO trooper makes a hand signal, and while the RI trooper turns to walk back over to the bridge, a gun barrel sticks out of one of the windows, a major breech of ATSO training.

Immediately, the Reserve Infantrymen fire into the window. The negotiator jumps into the river, and allows himself to be carried out towards the sea.

The return fire takes a heavy toll on the reserve infantrymen. Lt. Bradford is thrown down by an RPG warhead that strikes the rooftop. Reserve Infantrymen fall all around, and the ATSOs prepare to attack the rest of the city. As long as they stay inside the city, they know that the LRRAF can't do anything. However, the bridge crossing will be tricky.

The Reserve Infantrymen, momentarily forced back by the ATSO return, quickly return to their positions and pepper the ATSOs with MG and Ak-47 fire. The John Henry and BRDM-2 APCs use their 20mm cannons to great effect on the rebel positions, but the ATSOs bring out their heavy firepower.

From the rear of the ATSO lines, a group of BM-21s begin firing on the Reserve Infantrymen. Jaguar IIs above immediately dive down on the rocket artillery, and strafe the launchers with cannon fire. However, two are brought down by withering ATSO small arms and AAA fire. Both pilots are killed by ATSOs when they land.

The rockets cut up the RI lines. Many infantrymen are killed by the rocket fire, and the ATSOs use this chance to break through the RI lines.

A column of BTR-80s charges across the bridge, under heavy RI fire. The 20mm cannons on the APCs cause heavy losses among the remaining reserve infantrymen, however, and they begin, in a scene repeated all across the river, to retreat. The first BTRs begin reaching the opposie shore. At first, John Henrys ward off the ATSO vehicles with ATGM and cannon fire, but are too driven back.

Lt. Bradford is one of the last to abandon the line, and he jumps into the open back door of a John Henry just before it sets off down the city streets.

Much to their horror, they find roads barricaded.

"DOWN WITH STARKEY! DOWN WITH STARKEY!"

Armed mobs block their way, and apparently the people of Warsaw had sided with the rebels.

"OUT OF THE WAY, BLOODY FOOLS!"

The APCs plow through the crowds, in their bid to get out of the city. The crowds, slow to react, fire on the APCs as they leave the scene. They pursue the Reserve Infantrymen, but to little use as the APCs are too fast. However, one BRDM-2 falls victim to the crowds. Someone throws a molotov cocktail into the gunner's hatch of the vehicle, which forces the infantrymen inside to get out or be cooked alive. The infantrymen are immediately set upon by the crowd, mad for blood. They are beaten to death, and strung up from a lamppost. A small number of refugees hitch rides with the retreating Reserve Infantrymen as they head for the roads leading into the mountains. Once on the roads, the RI troopers begin to take artillery fire from the city walls.

"Damnit! Don't these guys ever stop?"

However, a squadron of Jaguar IIs takes care of the artillery with folding-fin rockets and cannon fire.

It is not long, though, until the Rebels take control of the city air defense net. The next flight of Jaguars narrowly escapes destruction by blowing up two of the early-warning radars for the city before the ATSO technicians could get comfortable with the system.

The RI troops are soon away from the city, on a steadily ascending route into the mountains. The mountaintops loomed in the distance, quite menacing. Especially when they know that the mountains, especially the outer ranges, are filled with LRRA and LRRAF. The mountainous east of LRR contains a rich fertile valley that runs down between the east and west ranges until it reaches the coast- and Gdansk, LRR's largest seaport and home of the LRRN. However, it would take several days until the infantrymen reached the safety of the mountains, and the going was uncertain at best.

Near the Crenshaws, Northwest LRR

In the waters around East Crenshaw, the 12th missile and 24th patrol squadrons head for the safety of West Crenshaw, with its un-occupied nature. The batallion of infantrymen would prevent that, as would the squadron of Super Gripens, joined by a squadron of MiG-29KIs from East Crenshaw. Things were not so good, however. The ATSOs had not only captured the coastal artillery batallion, but also the ASM battery and the small airfield. The village, fortunately, was on the opposite side of the island, facing away from East Crenshaw. The CDMs around the village had ample time to down any incoming missiles. The boats stay in the rock-bordered harbor, camoflauged inside small caves. The Bora, too big to fit inside a cave, stays up against one of the walls of the harbor. Towering above the harbor is a large hill, atop of which a heavily camoflauged ASM battery sits.

The crews of the patrol and missile boats wait around for orders inside the protection of the caves. Fishing and lobster boats are also moored inside the cave, but it is nothing compared to the giants near Gdansk which store frigates.

However, not far away, the 34th mechanized infantry brigade approaches. It is quite an impressive collection of MT-LBs, BMP-2s, Warrior IFVs, and PTS-M amphibious assault vehicles.

The column reaches the beach on the small penninsula which they were based on. The vehicles enter the water en masse, and start off towards West Crenshaw. They arrive in an hour or so. They are met by a group of Infantry, an Ikv-92 ATGM vehicle, and Andrei Ivanovich. The commander of the brigade motors up to Ivanovich.

"What seems to be the problem, citizen?"
"Very funny, Georg. East Crenshaw is under control of hostile forces, and we need to get it back."
"Sure thing."
"Follow us, then."

Ivanovich leads the batallion to the next beach, with East Crenshaw in the distance.

"Now, we wait for nightfall."

The vehicles are camoflauged in the woods, until the stars come out. From the sea fog, the shillouettes of the patrol and missile boats can be made out.

"Let's go."

Again, the vehicles enter the water. PTS-Ms carry the bulk of the non-amphbious equipment such as assault guns, while the APCs and IFVs carry the infantry.

Gunfire can soon be heard, as well as the swoosh of rockets. The Bora fires its NARL batteries at the coast of east crenshaw, and the explosions of the rockets are visible even through the fog. The boats also fire with their rapid-fire cannons. They escort the mechanized infantry towards the island. Soon, the landing beach is in plain view through the fog. Ivanovich watches as PT-292 comes in close to the beach, Ibrahim at the wheel. All of a sudden, all hell breaks loose. From the decks of the PTs, beautiful but deadly arcs of tracer fire erupt and streak over the beach. The 40mm cannon's tracers stand out from the lighter automatic weapons in that individual shells are distinguishable instead of just blue streaks.

The missile boats also fire on the ATSOs, from much closer range. Their cannon fire seems to strike home when a huge explosion is seen on the hill which the artillery batallion formerly occupied, indicating that the cannon rounds had struck a weapons cache. The ATSOs, greatly depleted from the initial bombardment, put up only a weak fight against the boats.

"All vehicles! Fan out for landing!"

Shells are shoved into the breeches of PTS-borne assault guns, and the cannons on the BMPs and warriors begin to track. Tracers soon erupt from the turrets of the waterobrne vehicles.

Before long, they are on land. The ATSOs try their best to repell the landing, but to little avail. The mechanized infantry vehicles charge up the hill and storm the rebel stronghold.

"ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!"

The MT-LBs are the first over the hill, and they take heavy MG fire from the ATSO emplacements. The MT-LB cannons return fire to great effect, and the infantry prepare to attack. The BMPs and warriors fire on the rebel bunkers, but have little effect on the heavily reinforced steel structures, meant to be control stations for ASMs and rocket artillery. They switch to missiles, and then make short work of the structures.

Infantry exit their carrier vehicles, and rush the rebel positions.

With RPG and AN-94 fire, the mechanized infantry clear out the rebels in the deeper bunkers. Soon, East Crenshaw is back under government control. Over the next few days, the rebels attempt to attack many of the LRR coastal islands, but do not succeed, being within easy reach of forces in the mountains.

In Warsaw, too, the proximity to the mountains worries General Piper.

"If they could only have picked a better spot to build this city!"

The general looks up at the distant peaks from one of the wall guard posts. Through a telesope, EW and SAM radars can be made out from the landscape by a skilled observer, and Jochim can visualize armored and mechanized infantry regiments- not just brigades- emptying down from the mountains like orcs from Barad-dur.

On a mountain airfield, close to the south-eastern tip of the central mountain range

On the hardened surface of ground that formed the runways for Soltsy AFB, blasted out of the mountainside, with hangars inside the mountain itself, a group of light tactical transports line up for takeoff.

A little LRR geography note- 80% of LRR is covered by mountains, collectively called the central mountains. Worcester is located in the fertile river valley that divides the mountains into east and west, and that runs down to the sea and Gdansk. The mountains are covered in military installations. In the south, giant rock tunnels house frigates and submarines, and even in the most remote part of the country, a fully functional and manned airbase can be found. Most are large, but hard to spot, with hangars large enough to accomodate Il-79s blasted into the mountains, clearly a product of many years' work. SAM and ABM sites dot the mountains, as do ATGM posts, consisting of a platoon of vehicles and troops with anti-tank weapons. The LRRA has many bases as well, although at much lower altitudes. The roads and railroads leading into the mountains are also heavily defended.....but now back to the RP.....

The transports- C-135s and An-72s, take off into the night. They carry 500 troops and many armored vehicles, which will be landed in the capital. A squadron of Jaguar IIs provides escort.

About an hour later, they are all flying nape-of-the-earth towards Warsaw. No doubt, the air defense net could see them. Of course it could see them. But the technicians in charge had no skills. The ATSO technicians were used to rig bridges with explosives, not operate air-defense nets.

"Uhhhh.......Bob? I've got some little dots coming towards."
"PLANES!!!!!!"

Bob starts pressing random buttons, hoping some will launch missiles. They do, but he conveniently forgot to select targets. The missiles fly up to a very high altitude, only to explode, with mpore than a little help from Il-81s in the area.

The Jaguars get locks on the defense net radars and loose anti-radiation missiles at them. Soon, the network has a huge hole in it, and without repair crews, the rebels are lost and confused.

"This is red group, I've got a visual on the airport. Commencing attack."
"Roger that."

The ZSU-32s on the airport scan the skies for something to shoot at.....

All of a sudden, a gaggle of aircraft appear on radar. Transports, easy kills. Not so.

The An-72s, armed with rockets and anti-radiation missiles, blow the AAA apart, and the troops prepare for landing. The STOL An-72s land on one side of the runway, and deposit their troops. The infantrymen run to the side of the runway and wait for their vehicles.

The C-135s land, and off the ramps come BMD-3s.

United with the armored contingent, they proceed into the city. First stop- DNS embassy. The troops arrive at the embassy minutes before the ATSO force assigned to take it starts out.

At the gates, a column of BMD-3s appears. They wait for the DNS staff to see them.

In Rome, Watertest
Everyone stood when the president arrived, of course followed by his personal bodyguard, a lithe, thirish women whose dark tresses concealed the fact that she was one of the best shots in government service. The President waved for Admiral Taylor to him in and close the door behind him. Behind the closed doors the president took his seat and heard Admiral Taylor’s morning intelligence briefing. "At approximately 5 o'clock AM a Coup d’Etat was attempted by General Jochim Piper in Lunatic Retard Robots. Warsaw was captured by the rebels and many LRR government officials are being held hostage. The problem is that the rebel bastards aren’t just attacking officials in LRR, they are wildly attacking foreign embassies and holding the diplomats hostage. Watertest has a embassy in LRR that is populated with 30 soldiers, 10 diplomats, and various Watertest citizens. We need to evacuate our embassy immediately or risk having more than 90 people die in LRR.” “How are our men holding up in the embassy and what are the current military options do we have at this time?” “According to our last transmission 15 minutes ago the soldiers are holding up in our embassy with OICW’s and heavy machine guns. We could try to rescue them by helicopter, but that always has the possibility of disaster. We could also threaten the rebels and use our bases in Switzerland to bomb the hell out of them. However, the best course of action would probably be to use a mix of the two.” Replied Admiral Taylor. Ryan sighed and said “Have the generals devise a scenario and have a briefing in the situation room.”

Watertest Embassy, LRR, Warsaw

Chavez looked through his binoculars at the battle underway a few miles away. It seemed that the rebels currently had the upper hand against the LRR government. He gripped his Sv-9 Sniper Rifle and scanned through his scope for any enemies that could be a threat. The embassy might be able to hold off small attacks by the rebels, but any major attack by the rebels would be unstoppable. I just hope that we are evacuated out of this hell hole soon.

OOC: Soldiers in the embassy are armed with OICW’s, Sv-9 Sniper Rifles, MP-5’s, and Berretta 9mm automatics. They have a massive ammunition, food, and water store that could last for days.

"So official we are still declaring neutrality," Sir Anthony Giscard pours himself a glass of cognac as rain lashes at the window of the Valinor embassy to the LRR. He moves to the window and takes a brief sip from the high-ball glass. He looks to the gate of the embassy grounds, and sees that there are two full squads of Sardaukar and IFV guarding the gates.
He nods, and turns to Hauptsturmfuehrer Lockmann, his ESS liaison, "And unofficially?"
The ESS smiles, "Appropriate representatives of....certain interested parties will be making contact with General Piper and expressing their support for his movement."
Giscard leans against his desk, crossing his arms.
"It is to be expected, the Government is searching for allies on Earth and willing to allow more extreme measures to be taken with the pressure they are feeling from His Majesty. Carry on then, Hauptsturmfuehrer, I will not interfere. However, take this as being forewarned," the ESS man looks up at the ambassador oddly.
"Lord Adonis has been told he is to intervene in ten days if the situation has not resolved itself."
The ESS man looks almost surprised, but he manages to hide most of it.
"Oh, yes, Mr. Lockmann, there are other paths to information besides the ESS. Bear that in mind the next time you try one of your sparring competitions with me. Now kindly go about your business."

A few hours later a sealed letter finds its way to General Piper, the courier disappears before the "authorities" even realize quite what the message is. The message inside is brief, and hardly deep.

General Piper,

Rest assured your movement is not without support in the international community. And there is a way to access that support with minimal risks. Leave a return message specifying a location, date, and time for an appropriate meeting on Thirty-Eighth street near the ambassadorial quarter in the garbage dumpster at the first alleyway. It will find its way to the appropriate representatives. Be warned, we will be watching and attempts to follow our courier or apprehend him will be met with due and proper force. We are willing to support you, General Piper, but we will not brook interference, nor our support becoming common knowledge to the international community at large.

The letter is unsigned.

Hmm, it didn't post my thread.

Basically, Since LRR is a member of the ASDU we sent some special forces to destabilize the enemy until our main force arrives...

The commander of the troops hops down off of his BMD-3 and walks over to Ordin.

"Sir, we have orders to evacuate you and your staff."

Meanwhile, several LRRA regiments issue out of the mountains. The rebel forces are driven back very quickly.

"We'll need another half-hour to destroy the documents, can you guys give us some cover in the interim?" He looks kinda sheepishly, "sorry, but we can't leave the embassy with the information intact."

OCC: LRR is sort of based on Poland. Its a mix of a bunch of countires which is located somewhere in southwest scandanavia.

IC: The Colonel in command of the force looks around.

"It might be cutting it close, but yeah. If you folks could speed things up a bit, we could probably leave before the rebels get here. But we've still got a few more embassies to go to before we get back to the airport."

Explosions and gunfire can be heard in the background.

"The airforce is trying to distract them until we can get out of here."

In the captured Houses of Parliament

General Piper is overjoyed at the message. The thought of outside help lifts his spirits emensely.

"Major!"
"Yes, sir?"
"Get a courier right away. Tell him to go to 38th street."

General Piper grabs a piece of stationary and writes his return message. The courier arrives, and takes the letter. He seals the envelope, and exits the HoP. Outside, his motorcycle is parked in front of the stairway into the building, and he jumps onto it. Because he takes a route less prone to air attack, it takes him almost half an hour to reach 38th street. He leaves the letter in a small opening in the stone wall that runs down the street, which any skilled espionage agent would be able to spot. Fortuntely, the LRR government has ver few espionage agents.

About 100km outside of Warsaw

The 4 LRRA regiments make good progress down towards Warsaw. The Rebels, mostly from the city and pressed into service by the much better trained ATSOs, surrender in droves. Many have been captured by angry farmers already.

Leading the group is the 8th anti-tank brigade, with Ikv-92s and assorted other vehicles.

"Enemy armor, up ahead near that bridge."
"Roger that."

The vehicles let loose a barrage of anti-tank rockets, and the rebels at the bridge are almost totally destroyed.

A somewhat large battle insues, but is over very quickly. The rebels, devoid of air cover, heavy armor, and a bulk of well-trained forces, are crushed. The survivors retreat to the city, however, and the going will not be so easy from there.

After their successful recapture of most of LRR minus Warsaw, the LRRA regiments head towards the city.....

OCC: Sorry all you guys who are in this, but I will have to cancel this RP. There are too many other things that need to get done.
