OOC: This is just to help me develop Wazzu's fourth government (second elected) and give any interested readers a feel for the insides of Wazzu politics. It is not an open RP.

It was rare for either the Executive or Advisory boards to physically meet anymore, it was considered too dangerous. But for the first time in a century or two it was too dangerous not to.

Hermes Spacelines Advisory Board Representative Rob Maish sat along the outside edge of the room, waiting. The Executive Board Members sat along the inside table, every seat but two taken. Oren Moore's chair now sat cerimoniously empty, as it would throughout Ela Rios' "rule." And the Chief's seat itself was empty, awaiting her arrival.

The doors swung open, all stood, Ela Rios entered, and the doors secured secured solidly behind. Despite the outstanding acustics of the room, the sound of those doors seemed to echo in the tension.

Standing in front of her chair, Ms. Rios spoke up, "Gentlemen and Ladies, please have a seat.

"Lets get straight to it." she started, directness always being a good sign in Wazzu politics, "No matter who was elected, we all knew there would be changes. Myself included." Some of the tension seemed to leave the room as people heard this. "And unlike with some of my oponants, those changes will be slow in comming." More tension drained. "Afterall, I have a lifetime in which to work." Nervious chuckles.

"My presence here changes little of this group. The Oren Moore representative is gone, and TransCorp has a new one." Rios turned towards him now, "Congradulations on your nomination Mr. Granger." He nodded back.

"But what will change now are our Ministry Heads. And I will pick them." She looked around the room to be sure everyone knew she was in charge. "But your suggestions and opinions are all very welcome, and I will consider them all honstly.

"Are there any further questions on how I intend to lead this nation before we start that process?"

It was an old man from Northern Gun, sitting near the end of the Executive Board table, who broke the silence. "Ms. Rios. I believe what they are all dying to ask you, in some cases litterally," nervous chuckles, "is what are your plans with the non-humans."

Ela Rios smiled slightly as the room filled with silence. A man with some confidence, I admire that. "Your worried because I support the Society...." Rios looked around the room, making eye contact with everyone for a brief instant.

"The SPH has never preached intollerance or violence or superiority. My support is drawn from a concern for my race, my species, my culture. I've every belief that all should be free to follow their own.

"Your answer is therefore obvious. We will maintain our agreements with our non-human protectorates, and non-humans fully integrated into Wazzu will retain their full citizenships.

"As to forign non-human and mixed nations, I've every intention of expanding trade with those who can be expected to honor their agreements...namely those nations that posess either high civil or political freedoms, preferably both. I believe just as stronly in soverignty as my predecessors and will no sooner violate another nation's boarders as allow Wazzu's to be violated.

"But I have little patients for those nations that abuse their populace. We will not give inhumane tyrants like Morgoth another chance to strike Wazzu without immediate and sever consequences. No more backing down. Do I make myself clear?"

Heads did not move, but she had made herself perfectly clear. And for now, the occupants of the room could breath easy again.

"Chief, what about space policy?" interjected Rob Maish.

"Well Mr. Maish, your corporation seems to have already appointed June West as 'Space Czar.' She has no pull over political resources, so I won't abuse your right to do so. But understand, putting my political competitor into such a position behind my back has not made me happy. I advise Miss West to play nice.

"The government projects will remain secret for now, make sure she, and your company understand that."

Maish nodded, it was less stern a slap (a threat really) then he had dreaded.

The discussion continued....Mars and colonies, the Arda problem, the response to Melkor's Imperium, and that most important of topics to a nation led by mega-corporations...international trade.
