As a gesture of friendship, the government of O&I has graciously agreed to put some of our ancestral expertise in the field of cloning at the disposal of foreign nations, subject to a modest financial consideration.
But first, a little about our knowledge of cloning, and what we can and can't do for you...
CLONING IN O&I
Our knowledge of genetics is based upon data acquired through Project Loop, an attempt by human scientists to create a highly detailed simulation of the world, accurate to the sub-atomic level. The simulation was run on 64 linked supercomputers, with the principal site being loacted in New Mexico.
The project ultimately ended in a near disaster; however, the founders of the O&I state did manage to 'acquire' much useful material from the simulation and thecloning research associated with it. This information forms the basis of our current expertise.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER
We can clone small numbers of most gene-based lifeforms, although mammals (and especially humans) are where our expertise is concentrated.
So, if provided suitable genetic material, we can create replicas of your sadly deceased leaders, or doubles for existing ones. We can assist infertile couples, and can 'resurrect' favourite pets.
WHAT WE CAN'T DO
This isn't Kamino. You can't turn up with a down-on-his-luck bounty hunter and expect us to create the ultimate army of doom.
Think about why not for a minute. If you want 100 000 units, we would need at the very least a similar number of surrogates, a whole city to house them; a dedicated economy to feed, clithe and educate the units, and the best part of 20 years until they're actually useful.
What about accelerated growth techniques? Well actually we do have a technique that will substantially reduce growth times, a refinement of the process by which our nation was founded. Unfortunately, this technique would really not be appropriate for customers...I would be surprised if you would want to end up like us.
