Police Forces in your country?
The following forces provide internal security in Roania.

Polizei are authorised to act with extreme force against anyone in breach of the peace. They have extraordinary powers, and more resemble soldiers than they resemble policemen from other nations. The Riot Act is always in force.
Weapons in their arsenal include plasma swords, RA-87 assault rifles, Defender1 tanks and an assortment of helicopters. Their trademark black police cars have several more weapons in the shell.
Their chain of command is:
Interior Minister
The Sheriffs of the Peace 1 in each City-State
Commisioners Two in each county
Commanders of the City Watch City watch is an archaic title. One in each large city
Rural Captain small townships and villages. A RC and his constables will often patrol a fairly large area
Urban Captain In cities. Often in command of an entire station
Master Sargeant One per city, is based at the main station
Sargeant Two per station. Forensic personnel and other specialists are granted this rank
Inspectors Varying number at the main station. Liason between Polizei and Shadow Angels. Lead major criminal investigations
Constable A varying number is assigned to each Captain
Shadow Angels

Shadow Angel Guardian in dress uniform. There are more weapons concealed in that trenchcoat then many battalions have
The Shadow Angels are the internal intelligence agency of The Most Holy Principality. Their official name is 'Royal Bureau for the Collection of Information', but they are known almost exclusively as the SA. They control several torture chambers, and are allowed to take any action neccessary to ensure obedience by their targets.
On one memorable occasion, a man's 4 year old son was killed so that they'd be able to grab him at the funeral.
The weaponry of the SA is classified. In the past, they have carried automatic pistols and weaponary rings, but it is widely believed that other, nastier weapons could be concealed within those voluminous coats they wear.
Their chain of command is elusive, but current information is:
Interior Minister
Section Head (Seraphim)
Commisars (Guardian)
StaatsPolizei Offizier (Shadow Angels)
Holy Roanian Inquisition for the Purity of the Faith

Grand Inquisitor Leopold VII, contemplating heresy
The most secretive of the internal security agencies within Roania, the HRIPF is the military arm of the Roman Catholic Church in Roania. While theoretically commanded by the Office for the Purity of the Faith in Vatican City, in recent years there has been little or no guidance. Unlike many other Inquisitions, the HRI is not a monastic order, and most of its members are elite soldiers and police who wish to allow religion a greater play in their lives.
The Roanian Government relies upon the HRI to root out heresies dangerous to the state, and dispel dark forces which take root.
Weaponry statistics are completely classified, as are those for their armor.
Chain of Command:
Patriarch
Grand Inquisitor
High Inquisitor
Inquisitor Captain
Inquisitor
There are varying amounts of Inquisitors throughout Roania. Nobles and Priests may call upon either their local Inquisitors, or request assistance from the Roanian Motherhouse in New Agua.
OOC: All right, that's me done. Now, what about you?
I've never compiled information on Wazzu's police forces, but based off what the game itself tells me and how I've set up my nation ICly, here are some basics.
About 0.001% of the population (or just over 25,000 individuals) make up Wazzu's federal police force. As there aren't any local police forces, this number is absolutely tiny. Indeed, these people are not so much police officers as they are investigators (with a small bureaucracy).
Because the force is so tiny, the jobs are in high demand, so competetion to get them is fierce (but those who get in rarely have much trouble staying in until retirement).
All are highly paid, highly trusted, and well looked upon in the community. However, these general investigators can't do everything.
Most actual "policing" is done by private security forces, with the military responsible for temporary detaining of the very uncommon federal criminal. Most forensics evidence (always gathered by federal investigators) is sent off to private labs (contractors) for analysis.
Really though, there isn't that much to do compared to most nations. Progressive policies in welfare (there is none, you get what you work for and everyone knows it) and education (in the top 2% of the world...after slipping from the top 1%) prevent most crime...not to mention that the needy usually don't last long (they either work harder at getting a job, move out of country, or succumb to starvation and disease).
Overall, life is pretty safe in Wazzu as long as you do your work and save up a small retirement fund. Afterall, almost everyone carries at least one weapon...so even suicide fighters usually unwittingly commit suicide before they can strike.
Skeelzania

OCC: Sorry for not having any neat pictures, Ive only recently started working on the police branch of my facbook. Heres the basics though.
Principality Police
These are the rank-and-file policemen of the Principality. They walk the beat, hand out parking tickets, and shoot whoever parks in a handicap space who isn't handicapped. They are known for thier short fuse, which came about after numerous jokes concerning thier department name.
Each officer carries a standard Bolter Pistol and stun baton. Their cruisers also contain heavier weapons, including shot guns and the 50.caliber Skeelzanian Assualt Rifle or SAR(really a light machine gun).
Their command structure follows the standard police heiarchy, with a Minister of Law and Order overseeing Commisioners, who oversee District Captains, and so on and so forth.
The Fürstentum Schützt (Principality Guard)
The para-military organization known as the Fürstentum Schützt acts not only as the elite soldiers of the Skeelzanian Principality, but also as Heavy Police in cases of emergency. It was members of the FS who crushed the Neo-Nazi rally of O.E. 2094, killing 26,000 people in the process. Their distinctive Red-on-Black uniforms make them stand out from the blue and grey of the common police. They are extreamly ruthless and are often used to carry out Skeelzania's anti-alien policies, organizing pogroms and the like.
The FS do not distinguish between military engagements and police actions, and thus can be very heavily armed. Weapons include the SAR, various machine pistols, mortars, and flamethrowers if the situation calls for it. Also, they do not hesitate to deploy their SKZMS-01 Drow mobile suits, as the pyschological effect of a 50 foot tall mecha is impressive.
The department is organized along military lines, with a Captain of the Guards overseeing them instead of a Field Marshal.
Walmington on Sea
14-03-2004, 08:51
The Walmington on Sea Police Force is a little over seventy-five thousand strong*, discounting almost fifty thousand fully secretarial staff**.
In WoS only male officers walk the beat -or in some cases enjoy the benefit of cycling it- though there are over two thousand active WPCs, usually engaged in passive public relations duties and traffic management. The latter duty is generally not hard except for in tourist-heavy districts, in a land where a 25mph speed limit is considered generous, and driving above that rate a little uncouth and less than dignified.
Police officers are often unarmed, though may well be seen to carry a wooden truncheon. Most are equiped with a remarkably large tin whistle.
One interesting quirk in WoSPF recruitment is that potential recruits above 5'10" have a better chance of being accepted to the force than do their shorter comrades- the average Walmingtonian man has been found to stand a mere five foot seven and a half inches tall. The top hats worn by constables adds to the imposing stature of the typical Walmy peacekeeper.
During times of tension the Home Defence Volunteers often support the police in their day to day duties, adding to the long arm of the law an increased right and means to act with force.
Throughout the far-flung empire police forces differ greatly. In Waynesia, for example, the Henry Wayne Cape Company looks after the majority of the nation's civil order needs, while in Ceyloba a large Native Constabulary assists the military garrison in keeping the peace.

*NB: despite what the UN may think, the population of Walmington on Sea is comprised of around fifty million persons.
**Most ordinary policemen and women are tasked with a good deal of administrative responsibility on top of their more outward-bound duties.
Grand Hobgoblonia
14-03-2004, 08:55
On the books: The small state of Grand Hobgoblonia, (The Holy Empire of,) with a population of 6 million dating March 13, 2004, has an integrated military and security force, having too little of a population to have significant divisions between their roles. Military service in Grand Hobgoblonia is required for one year when hobgoblins come of age, male or female.
Out of approximately 120,000 security forces personnel (numbers not verified,) 6,000 overall of which are devoted to staff and officer roles, 12,000 are devoted to policing the streets of Grand Hobgoblonia's mostly urban center, while the countryside is thinly policed by regulars and defense troops. Out of these total numbers, there is a rotation rate of 40% active personnel to 60% reserves.
Police Patrollers have little difference from the Regulars of Grand Hobgoblonia's security/military forces, using the same standard infantry assault rifles, (currently Grand Hobgoblonia issues the outdated AK-47, but the Security Ministry has expressed interest in finding a new weapons contractor to replace these with a different model,) and they go to the same initial boot camp as all security forces in Grand Hobgoblonia do.
Their training diverges after 6 weeks of boot camp where they end up spending more time learning about arrest procedures and crowd control, and by the end of it they wear the standard black police uniform with purple trimmings and silver badges.
As of print, crime is a problem in Grand Hobgoblonia, but not especially among the youth. The government is looking into programs that will increase police effectiveness in their reduction of overall crime.

Law Enforcement
Much of the law enforcement on the county and state level are carried out by both their local sheriff/police department. On state level there is the State Police [for all state related crimes] and the Watermen [Highway Patrol]. On the federal level there are three main branches that deal with law enforcement: the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Defense. These three agencies tend to have select duties concerning federal crime: the Ministry of the Interior investigates the crime, the Ministry of Justice judges the crime, and the Ministry of Defense takes care of the criminals.
-------------------------------------------------
Intelligence & "Special" Organizations
1) Ministry of Interior: a) Royal Intelligence Agency [counter-intelligence, intelligence on international level], b) Greycloaks [domestic intelligence]
2) Ministry of Justice: a) Earl's Men [catching federal criminals], b) Ratfinks [providing homeland security]
3) Ministry of Defense: a) Department of Corrections
Special Organizations
1) Ministry of Defense: Department of Corrections: a training program [the rest is confidential]
2) Black Guard- incorporating the SEA agency [Sabotoage, Espionage, Assassination], Black Gloves [purpose unknown]
The Brotherhood of Nod
14-03-2004, 10:39
There's a pretty corrupt law-enforcement who let you get away with anything if you pay them enough. If it's anything the government doesn't like, though, you are shot no matter how much you pay.
In Spyr, law enforcement is an unusual matter. Laws, drafted by federal ministries within the principles legislated by the President, are enforced by the regular military forces, supported by conscripted National Levy troops, who recieve training in the law and its enforcement.
Legal prosecution does not exist. The offices of judge and criminal investigator are combined in the position of Justicar, who deals with all legal matters that would, in other nations, involve a trial.
This system is often more costly in terms of police expenditures, as the additional military troops and training are not cheap, while trial costs are substantially reduced. Also, since the 'police' utilize military-grade arms, and are trained as soldiers, there is a higher incidence of weapons use against fleeing or violent criminals.
Phalanix

Ok in Phalanix the law enforcment is:
Beta Officers
http://www.totalforceairsoft.com/beets3.JPG
A beta officer ready for a raid
Betas are know for there unorthidox tactics that result in the highest kill rate in Phalanix. They are alsways armed with semi-auto or full auto weapons and carry a large amount of extra clips and a few sidearms varying from standard MXDs to plasma pistols
Delta Officers/Gama Officers
http://half-life.ngi.it/Models&Skins/CS/classi/gsg9/img/gsg9_nypd.gif
The Gama and Delta a very hard to tell apart in the feild by looks alone. The deltas tend to cary around shotguns and sniper rifles as well as the MA9B. The Gama's carry older modeles of the C-11 and C-12. Both are highly prized units and are only used for the best jobs. Romors that have been around have been saying that there is a Delta 2 unit that is made up of a few ex-elites and the best deltas. These are highly denied. They hold the lowest death rate of there teams members but most of the members will crack under the stress after several years.
Royal Snipers

The RS were first established as a fource much like the Spartans were. Used in military attacks and such. Now they are used in cleaning up gangs with any means required. That includes nuking them and or killing anyone in there path except comanding officers and fellow law enforcment members
Samcora is very liberal. Pot is legal and fun. Who really needs police? Everything will fix its self

Most adults have at least one weapon, so many would-be criminals find themselves beat into the ground by a mob (OK, so it's not quite that bad for the criminal...).
Private security firms provide immediate response to assassination attempts, home burglaries, etc.
Local police drive armored off-road cars (hovercraft are too easy to disable). Driving cars is not their only mission.
State police drive around in fast hovercars to catch unsafe drivers. Driving hovercraft is not their only mission.
National police have men with automatic weapons posted on the streets, so don't bother trying to commit a street crime. The national police force was founded in 1861.
OOC: That's almost all I have right now.
The tiny resort nation of Ninja land theme park has the Million Ninja Security Force. Each ninja is trained in a minimum of three lethal fighting styles as well as how to use any ordinary object into a deadly weapon and are armed with shrukens, ninja swords, throwing darts, daggers, smoke bombs, and electric guitars.
In addition Ninja land has several different elite forces, sizes varing but impossible to confirm due to the secret nature of ninjas. the first is the Ninja Magicians, who use various ninja magics to conjure, spy, heat coffee, and do other various things. Next are the Ninja Masters, who are the teachers and leaders of the MNSF. Finally there are the Ninja Spies, who go into other countries under the guise of rock musicans, door to door salesmen, hedges, among others.
Finally Ninja land theme park realizes the need to stay modern and is in the process of getting mechs that are capable of crowd control in the extremely rare sitiuations where ninjas are not effective (usually against a group of mutant turtles or big blue superheroes).
Most Goblins who break the Kings Law end up as another Goblins coat, so there is very little crime ;)
The Imperial Police Corps
Composed almost entirely of ex-service men and women, the IPC is ten million strong (0.5% of the population). The IPC uniform is a symbol of incorruptibility and commands respect from the vast majority of the population; IPC officers are believed to be beyond reproach, honourable to a fault, and, when the situation calls for it, ruthlessly efficient and effective. This, of course, is not always the case; there are always exceptions to a rule. The IPC is composed of
IPC Intelligence
The largest branch of the IPC, IPC Intelligence (more commonly known as IPCI) is responsible for ensuring that foreign criminal elements do not contaminate the Empire with their influences. The IPCI is also responsible for detection of fraud prevention, tax evasion, and other economic/civil crimes. There are no violent crimes in the Empire, but if there were, the IPCI would act as the investigative branch for those crimes, also.
Some 28% of IPC personnel serve in the IPCI.
IPC (Foreign Branch)
A volunteer group, the IPC (Foreign Branch) is utilized wherever and whenever the Empire requires a well-trained police force in an occupied state - such as in the Protectorate of Wolf Ville. The IPC (FB) are also occasionally used as advisory officers, sent to foreign lands in order to help those nationstates attain the same level of efficiency and purity that the IPC strives for.
The size of the IPC (FB) fluctuates wildly.
IPC Air Detachment
The IPC Air Detachment (IPC/AD) is responsible for all matters regarding air transport for the rest of the IPC, and is also responsible for policing the dense civilian air traffic in the Empire. They are essentially identical to a traffic police division, except in the air. However, they are also responsible for supplying pilots to the rest of the IPC, in order to optimize the travelling speed and effectiveness of the entire IPC.
The IPC/AD is the third-largest division of the IPC, and comprises approximately 25% of the total number of officers.
IPTechC
The IPTechC (Imperial Police Technology Corps) is by far the largest branch of the IPC. They are responsible for all digital crime prevention and investigation, as well as for the upkeep of the widespread Anti-MechanicalWeapon Network - which prevents, to a degree, violent crimes. Instant punishments are meted out by the AMWN, which is tied into the GUARDIAN defense grid, and so the condition of the Network is of the utmost importance. As such, a massive force of technicians constantly calibrate and re-calibrate the sensitive detection equipment that allows the detection of mechanical arms.
The AMNW is, in fact, rarely used; the mere existance of the Network acts as a deterrant to would-be criminals, who are well aware that, should they be noted to be carrying a mechanical weapon, they would be immediately rendered unconscious by automated ultrasonic assault.
The IPTechC has a single sub-division; the IPTechC Customs Department, responsible for safeguarding the numerous Entrance Terminals that are the only entrance and exit points to the Empire of the Eternal dawn.
The IPTechC comprises some 37% of the total number of IPC officers.
IPC 'beat' officers
Generally serving in one of the above Divisions, IPC 'beat' officers are assigned to their 'beats' on a mixed random/qualification basis. IPC 'beat' officers carry non-lethal weapons only, such as Type II ultrasonic/electron flux wands.
At any one time, around 2% of the IPC is dedicated to 'beats'.

Teritora
14-03-2004, 18:23
National Teritoran lawforcement is handled by an then Teritoran Royal Guard(The Army) who conducts the day to day operations of inforcing Royal laws and decrees and by the Royal Coast Guards also known as the blacksuits who handles all drug and some cases of internal security not handled by the RSC or other national secret organizations.
In Teritora the laws of the Church are strictly enforced by the Order of St Vernsi one of the last remaining major orders of church knights as soldiers of the church. Also in Teritora hunting down all Heretics, witches and others is the Feared and to those in the knew infamous Teritoran Inquisition, like most other inquisitions is it an miltent monastic order. They are known for their extremely creative torture methods, for being able to ferret out real heretics and witches and who is being falsely acused and always geting what their after. There is an saying in Teritora, Nobody escapes the Inquisition.
On an Lower scale the laws of the Nobiility is enforced by their own guards and since Teritorans regularly go around armed with swords and guns are not readly found outside of the Royal Guards, it is not unusal or Illegal for Citzens to take the law into own hands in some cases.
Each RV operator acts as police and judge, but not jury of course, for his cars and their inhabitants.

Roughly 1%* of Imilania's population is involved in the police force, which is sometimes known by its original title, the King's Own Light Sheriffs, a reminder of the force's original attachment to the military.
Originally drawn up during the Civil War (cf. hist01.1314.17), the King's Own Light Sheriffs (shortened to KOLS, which led to slang terms for the police force such as Kolly, Kolmen, etc.) was recruited into from members of the other Light Infantry regiments, and as such, they were apt to be rough with demonstrators, or any other criminals.
The hierarchy remains close to the military, without constables or other police officers more commonly seen in other nations.
The power structure goes (from top to bottom)
King's Officer In Command - In command of the entire police force, and makes choices in terms of the entire force, including those concerning funds and deployments.
Major - In charge at area level, usual commanding four or five city stations.
Captain - In charge at station level, necessary to maintain smooth running of officers.
Sergeant - In charge of a department within a station, e.g. homicide, fraud, rape, theft etc. and the men to go with that, typically numbering around 5 corporals per department in the larger cities.
Corporal - The lowest rank. It is the corporals that patrol the streets and maintain a presence in the cities, towns and villages, along with assisting the sergeants in their duties.
Neophytes are those who assist with the overall running of the police station, the secretaries, phone operators, and receptionists are primarily composed of these individuals. Some do go on through a training programme to become corporals, but most rise up through the administrative pathways of promotion which lie parallel to those of the officers.
*approx. 320,000 individuals (correct at time of publication)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The weaponry used by the police force is nowhere near as sophisticated as that in place in the military, but it is substantial enough to deal with offenders.
The Beretta M92F is in wide use as the hand gun of choice for the corporals. In some cases officers have been known to buy in their own sidearms to 'beef up' their authority.
The Remington 1100SYN Semi Shotgun, 20/26M is used when civil disputes escalate and the police are required to settle the citizens.

OOC: The Overwatch Program, the Internal Intelligence Agency, and the National Police. Of course, then there's every megacorp's own security forces... which range from rent-a-cops to better-than-most-world-militaries quality, depending on the perceived needs of the company and their budget. According to the UN, we don't have a large number of police compared to the population, but we have less crime than you do. Of course "crime" and, for that matter, "law" are somewhat subjectively measured, eh?
Mostly robots on patrol, but augmented by a large force of living "Law Troopers" as we call them. Basically police, but with the training of SWATs and normal police. However, they typically follow the normal police pattern, taking an analytical investigative look, and only turn to their SWAT training in a crisis.
Tordoran Law is strictly enforced by an regular Police force but there are several Paramiltary Governmential sub Agencies that enforce national laws.
Important Government agencies with ParaMiltary subagencies.
The Royal Agency of Robotics and Cybernic Research:An agency formed at the beganing of the 21 century whos goal has been the advancement of Robotics and Cybernitics for the the glory of the crown. They have brought Robotics and cybernitic techology to new heights and some of their advancements have seemed to be right out of a scfi novel or an Anime. They are also in charge of the TP. An special sub agency police force formed to deal with robotic and cybernic related crimes, it is noted that some of the officers are cyborgs.
The Royal Agency for dealing with dealing dangerious criminal elements.(The Tank Police): This agency was formed to deal with a new breed of criminals that poped up after the chaos of the Tordoran wars. Criminals who regularly used Miltary weapons and vehicles to commit crimes, criminals that could not be handled by the Regular police. This Specal Police force is commonly nicknamed the tank Police do to their use of a special Breed of tanks Devoloped for their use. However they are also trained to use TAR-14 Assult rifles and other miltary weapons to get the job done.
The Royal Agency for the safty of the Monarchy(Think the FBI, CIA, NSA, Deta force and the US secret service rolled into one.):This agency is dedated to the preseveration of the Monarchy from any threat from outside or from within. Less polite people however have refered to them as a bunch of ninjas, like those that serve the various ranking nobles of Tordor, however such people tend to dispear afterwards. This agency is very mysterious in nature and it is said that the only one who knows much about this agency is the queen and even she doesn't know much.
Church Law is also enforced by Church Soldiers and the Tordoran Inquisition activaly hunts witches, Heretics and Heathens.

The imperial security is a mysterious organisation and more or less a myth. Only few is know about the KS but it is sure that they are directly subordinated to the Kaiser and defend his interests.
Weapons in their arsenal are unknown.
Color of uniform: unknown. supposed to be black.
Color of patrol cars: unknown
Chain of command (supposed):

The Police in the Empire are armed not with wimpy pistols, but are fully armed with military-ish body armor, OICW machine guns (just like the army), are authorized to use more force than many other nations can, and they actualy use the Army's spec ops. (the name is classified)
Königlich Sicherheitsdienst
The most feared Armed Forces in the Empire, the Royal Security Service, or K-SS, answers only to the Commander of the Imperial Guard, which also oversees the Imperial Guards, and answers only to the Czar Himself. The KSS has its own court system, as well as its own laws to follow, which are few. The KSS is only deployed as riot-breakers where lethal force is necessary, as border guards, as Government guards, and as prison camp operators, to aid the SA in interstate cases, and is in charge of running the Auswich Program under the National Clensing Amendment to the Constitution. KSS Troopers also have the same immunity as the Cabinet and the Czar has. This immunity can only be revolked by the Czar.
========================
Sturm Abteilung
The "Stormtroopers" are basically another KSS, only with limitations. The SA is the most powerful Police Force. Again, a National Force, the SA has the powers of a normal police force, but the SA can arrest without cause. The SA also handles all cases that deal with more than one state.
========================
Schutz Staffeinel
The SS is the State Police. Each state has its own SS force. the SS has the power of a normal police force, but the SS is also the police force of all public transportation, but is not responsible for actual "Traffic copping," unless more than one province is involved (Federal -> State -> Province).
========================
Provinzielle Polizei
The PP is the Provincial Police Force. The PP handles local cases, and handles local police work. the PP is the police force that handles trafficing, such as speeding, running red lights, etc.
==========================
=========================
Königlicher Schutz
The Imperial Guard. This Force is directly responsible for the saftey of the Czar, his family, his cabinet and their families, and Diplomats. The KS is not bound by any laws except by what the Czar tells them to do. The KS will do its job by any means possible, always using lethal force. During large National Events, or State visits, you never actually see the KS. Instead, it is the KSS's responsability for the public show of force and defense, the KS is not supposed to be seen other than the Heilige Verteidiger des königlichen Schutzes, which is the guards dressed in the flashy royalty guard clothes that always accompany the Czar in public events.
{The following information is presented OOCly}
Law enforcement in the Nation of Isidon is handled by two seperate, yet equally important bodies (I've always wanted to say that).
The Ministry of Law handles most tasks of day-by-day law enforcement, and is responsible for training and equipping urban and regional police forces. Agents known as Ministers of Law serve a similar function to the district attourneys of other nations. Ministers of Law ultimately defer to the High Minister of Law, one of the four Priest-Regents governing the nation.
A slightly more sinister aspect of Isidonian law enforcement, is the Office of Inquisition. Agents of this office range from the Inquisitor-Librarians, academics and scholars who maintain the official history, myth, and lore of the Isidonian people, to the covert Field Inquisitors, who are charged with "sorting out" revolutionaries, heretics, and other malignent forces among the general population. The day-by-day administrative matters of the Office of Inquisition are dealt with by the Inquisitor General, though he in turn defers to the High Inquisitor, one of the four Priest-Regents.
During emergency situations, and upon the agreement of all four Priest-Regents, special legal authority can be granted to the Paladins serving under the Ministry of War. These highly trained and educated officers have, in the past, shown themselves to be extremely adept at maintaining order and organizing peacekeeping efforts during riots and other major, civil uprisings.

((Hmm, haven't thought too much about my police force, let's see what I can do.))
The Standards
Standards are the grunts of the police force, filing repetitive paperwork and walking the beat. They're commonly armed with the standard military issue pistol fitted with a laser sight, a wakizashi, and tear gas. They are not often called upon for any violent duty, as the high standard of education and welfare doesn't leave much room for crime. Their cruisers carry shotguns or carbines, and don't have any special armor aside from the standard issue electrical deterrance layer. For the drivers to upgrade their cruisers is a common practice and widely accepted, unless they attempt to install heavy weaponry.
Blue Enforcers
Blue Enforcers are the force reserved for the rare violent riot, wielding everything ranging from tear gas grenade launchers to Blue Spike power armor. They don't often use deadly force, as a crowd can be easily indimidated by the arrival of heavy weaponry. There is a number of light urban tanks in the Enforcers' arsenal, though there is substantial doubt they will ever be used. The Blue Enforcers have recently more or less fallen into intelligence work, and often work with the Homeguard and Standards.
The Homeguard
The Homeguard is an extremely loyal reservist group, who would work with the military in case an enemy penetrated deep into Cyberutopia's borders. They take the role of border guards and, if the need arises, a gurrellia force capable of inflicting heavy attrition damage to an enemy. Equipped to the extent of the army in infantry weapons and technology, they are a formidable force, and unshakably determined to preserve their homeland.
The Agents
Taken from my entry into Nanakaland's Encyclopedia:
The Agents are a powerful group shrouded in mystery, tasked with defending Cyberutopia and her allies. There were twenty original Agents, but rumors have been circulating that there may be as few as eleven now. Few of their exploits are well known, but those that are include the solution of the Cyberutopian Incident and the liberation of several death camps during Cortez's reign. Their weapons are highly advanced over the normal military's and many other nation's militaries. It is rumored they have paranormal ablilites, such as extreme acrobatics including dodging bullets and mastery of the psychics, but no conclusive evidence has been brought forth to prove such fantastical claims. Their common appearance is that of a figure donning black light armor, a facemask studded with sensors, and a pale gray cloak. Even if every shred of information about the Agents is falsified in order to better secret their true nature, one thing is certain: they are not to be trifled with.
Their relevance to police work:
Though it is not their favorite of duties, the Agents retain a responsibility towards subverting possible threats to the Republic, and are often "lowered" to work (or babysit, as they put it) with the regulars of the police force. Their most common role on such an occasion is that of intelligence, and covert stings if necessary.
The Evil Overlord
15-03-2004, 00:22
Law Enforcement within the Dominion is managed by the Ministry for Internal Security, headed by Dark Torch- one of the most senior (and feared) members of the Board of Evil Overlord Enterprises.
All citizen/shareholders, whether native or immigrant, have a bioelectric microchip embedded in their skull. These chips are simply and cheaply made, and function mainly as Radio-Frequency Identification for the citizen/shareholders. The RFID chips are completely passive, only activating under the impetus of outside radio pulses on a very specific set of frequencies.
No one carries money within the Dominion. All purchases or payments are handled by central computer systems keyed to the citizen/shareholder's RFID chip. Similarly, citizen shareholders are tracked by the multitudes of computer-monitored cameras and RFID query stations throughout the Dominion. There are no private vehicles, but plentiful and efficient public transportation. Citizen/shareholders are not charged but can be easily tracked by means of computers monitoring the transportation systems.
This relentless monitoring extends everywhere, even into the home. Every electronic device in the Dominion is constantly monitored by computers under the control of Internal Security. Computer-controlled cameras and query stations across the Dominion monitor the location and activity of every citizen/shareholder at all times. Proscribed behaviors will result in intervention by Social Counselors, Monitors, or armed IS personnel as needed.
Two-thirds of all Internal Security personnel are tasked with backing up the computer monitors which watch the citizen/shareholders. The remaining IS troops are assigned to the Enforcement Department. Despite being assigned to a different ministry, Internal Security personnel are all Reserve members of the EOE military, and the training and equipping of IS personnel accounts for 1/4 of the EOE military budget. Squads of IS troops in full military battle dress patrol the tubes and streets of every city, town, and village. Reaction Teams with heavy weapons (up to and including tanks and helicopters) are stationed at strategic points within the Dominion.
There is no right to privacy within the Dominion. IS troops may enter any house, office, or place of business at any time if the computer monitors indicate a proscribed activity is taking place (or merely imminent). Since weapons are illegal, there is rarely any resistance. Any resistance is automatically assumed to be an admission of guilt, and the guilty party is immediately executed for the capital crime of impeding IS Officers in the performance of their duties.
The IS patrols and the computer monitors are so uniquitous that there is virtually no crime in the Dominion- despite the fact that there are a great many things which are listed as 'Proscribed Behaviors'. One of the most serious crimes is Tampering with EOE Computer Systems, which is understandable given the Dominion's reliance on computer networks. To prevent any such possibility, every computer (and every system connected to a computer) are constantly monitored by IS computers, with lethally-proficient IS hackers on hand to deal with potential problems. The monitors and hackers are in place merely to delay any proscribed computer activity until the Reaction Teams arrive to permanently deal with the problem. Another security measure is built into the computer networks- which are deliberately designed to be incompatible with any foreign software.
Due to the high standard of living and the potential profit to be made as a citizen/shareholder, many would-be immigrants try to emigrate to the Dominion. Entry requirements are extremely strict, and there is no practical means of influencing the professionally-paranoid IS Entry Control personnel. Entry Control management is shared with the External Security Department, which has networks of agents in almost every city on the planet. Would-be infiltrators are almost always identified before entry, and have never yet successfully fooled IS for more than a week.
The Dominion of the Evil Overlord is a very safe place to live- except for saboteurs, spies, and infiltrators.

Border Police swift craft responding to an incident
Responsible for maintaining security of Islandia's borders, the Border Police is an elite, para-military unit that is drawn from many Islandian ex-veterans of the various military services. In addition to its regular troops, Border Police also includes aviation units flying helicopters and several independent fighter units flying interceptors, as well as naval units using catamarans, fast attack boats, and various swift craft.

Local policemen subduing a violent protestor
Stationed throughout Islandia, the National Police often function at a regional and local level than a national one, but remain under the jurisdiction of the Directorate for Public Safety and Security. the National Police's Special Response Group is a tactical, high risk, counterterrorist and violent criminal interdiction unit, wiht local branches in various places with a large headquarters based in Hu-kasa, the Islandian capital. The national police also have their own aviation and maritime units, and both police forces have jurisdiction over rescues.

While all these posts are well done and well written, it seems as if most of the above nations standard police officer is as well equiped as a US SWAT officer.
Do none of these nations have a regular police officer?

While my nation has a large military budget, we also have a large police budget.
SOAPF (Sigma Octavus Armored Police Force)
The typical officer is at least a sergeant in the Sigma Octavus Mobile Infantry, and wears next-generation combat armor. They are often better equipped than the military, often using weapons fresh out of the labs.

SODDF (Sigma Octavus Desert Defense Force)
Due to the massive amounts of desert caused by Operation: Righteous Smackdown, it is necessary to protect the deserts. Quite a bit of money has gone into developement for weaponry and vehicles that could survive in the harsh desert environment, and as a result, this division is very effective.

(Well, not giving people a reason to resort to criminality is a good way to go about it without wasting their money on tanks and bodyarmour that has no use, I suppose. Then there's making everything legal, too. I'm sure I can be blunt like that, 'cause apparently WoS is invisible. Bah, this is just because we don't need machineguns and robots to make us feel secure.. Walmington's police are about as well armed as a nunnery ;) )

500 Jedi Knights there are, to supplement the ordinary police forces. No need to say any further about them.
Police:
Patrol cops- your everyday friendly officer with a blaster pistol and a stunstick. Well-trained in day-to-day situations.
SWAT cops- used for more extreme measures. Often supplement the Jedi in hostage and terrorist situations.
Riot cops- self-explanatory. Cops in riot gear. All blasters come with a stun setting, obviously.
Space cops- patrol the systems in planet-hopping spacecraft.
Undercover cops- You never know if the man or woman next to you is a cop, so don't go making trouble now!

Resistencia
27-03-2004, 04:49
Within Resistencia we have several branches of the Police. All law enforcement agencies are sub-branches of Resistencia's military and all go through military training. In addition, because they are part of the military, they have at their disposal, the best weapons and equipment. These assets make Resistencia's law enforcement amongst the world's best.
>Civil Police - Basic Police. Trained in basic law enforcement skills. Patrol areas of Resistencia and make sure everyday life goes smoothly. They are authorized to use force only if neccesary.
www.osce.org/ sim/mandate/
>Business Regulation Oficers - Used to investigate and solve white-collar crimes. Anyone in violation of Resistencia's many business regulation laws is under the jurisdiction of these officers. They also have jurisdiction over Resistencian companies overseas. If a Resistencian company is in a third world country importing to Resistencia, they will be subject to the wrath of BRO's. They are authorized to use any force neccesary to stop white-collar crime. They have a licenseto kill.
www.cnn.com/.../saudi.hijack.gallery/ content.html
>S.W.A.T. Officers - Used against major uprisings or very dangerous criminal groups. While political rallies and protests are allowed, they are there to make sure that no one gets too out of line. They are also used to take out dangerous religious organizations as well as right wing paramilitary forces. They are under strict government supervision at protests, but are given free hand against religious zealots and paramilitary groups.
www.sss.no/images/ Div%20sas%205.JPG
>Counter-Terrorist Commandos - Used to make sure no foreign spies or agents are operating within Resistencia's borders. Their work ranges from undercover work to all-out attacks on terrorist cells.
(CTC in Combat Gear)

>International Elite Law Enforcement - These officers operate in absolute secrecy. They are used for all foreign operations that involve Resistencia's Law Enforcement. If a criminal escapes the country, these men will take him down. In addition, any person deemed a major threat to Resistencia can be a target of these agents. They are authorized to use any method neccesary to carry out their mission.

Local Police
These cops are the most common law enforcement agents, patrolling the streets of towns and cities and handling such cases. They are armed with standard-issue sidearms. Larger cities have more heavily armed and trained SWAT teams.
National Police
These officers duties include policing national sites,(Government buildings, etc.)interprovince highways, and providing heavy backup in critical situations.
Federal Investigation Office
These agents handle inter-provincial cases. They have the best forensic and investigative equipment and personnel(sp?) in the country.
The Aliedelian Government has a police force only 4,000 strong made up of supersoldiers highly trained in both the fields of persuasion and diplomacy and in battle tactics
