(OOC: First off thanks for viewing this! However I'd like to make a few quick things clear: this is taking place on Alpha Centauri, now I know it is inhabited but think of it as an alternate universe-thing; next, don't worry if your not space tech, heh, I'm not "space" tech; finally, losely based on the game: Phantasy Star. Thank you again.)
It had been ten years since the first ship, Pioneer One, was sent. Now Pioneer Two, the second massive multinational colonyship has arrived and found the unexpected.
They thought after ten years of work Pioneer One would have a spartan, but thriving community on the mostly habitable Centauri C, what they found were small cities built yes, but devoid of all live save the native life.
Before any re-colonization attempt can be made we must discover what went wrong down there and if it can happen again. This is where you come in, you # have been picked to travel to the planets surface to investigate.

(OOC: Ok, very leanient on character type; robots, mages, weekend warriors or what ever, try to keep millitary personel to a minimun, this was a civiliane colonizationship after all and not a millitary cruiser. Have fun and be creative, I want lots of posts! And don't worry about the story stalling because I'm quite active and usually will let the story evolve with the characters instead of forcing them into a mold.)

(OOC: I would prefer single characters because they allow for deeper character development and much easier to control/keep track of. Because I would think it quite a feat to RP a squad with details to character flaws emotions etc, w/o treating the squad as an entity, which is what I hope to avoid because this group is the team.)

(OOC: I'm going to start with a description of my character.)
Kerra is a young woman looking for adventure. She's eager to be part of the investigation team. She's somewhat impulsive, and tends to speak what's on her mind. These characteristics get her into trouble sometimes. She will soon discover that she has telekinetic powers, which will erupt frequently, causing more problems.
(OOC again: What will happen to my character if I have to be away from the forums for several days?)

We,the Oppressed Peoples of Armaghetto,are sending our most reknowned forensic pathologist/physicist to accompany your crew on your mission.We assure you that Dr. Ibn Al Xu'ufasch is a brilliant scientist and investigator,and will no doubt be an important assett to the discovery of what happened on Centauri C.
Dr. Xu'ufasch is a summa cum laude of The Grand Cathedral University of Armaghetto and is it's most valued alumnnus.He has a phD in physcics,astronomy,nuclear science,medicine,and forensic pathology,as well as masters' in innumerable other fields.He is nearly finished on single-handedly creating Armaghetto's first Anti-Matter Generator.He has nearly eliminated all air polution in our country by creating a non-waste generating alternative to gasoline.
While on this mission,Dr. Xu'ufasch shall be placed under your immediate control.Utilize his skills any way you wish.
However,we insist on the following:
1.Unimpeded communication with Dr. Xu'ufasch and our government.His communications are not to be recorded or monitored in any way.We value our intelligence and privacy.This is non-negotiable.
2.Any data gathered by Dr. Xu'ufasch is to be duplicated.One copy shall be for your purposes,the second shall be sent to us for ours.This is non-negotiable.
3.Dr. Xu'ufasch's safety is of paramount importance.Under NO circumstance shall he be placed in a potentially life-threatening enviroment or condition.This is non-negotiable.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm and well designed character I must make my points:
1) They have to have been on the ship that left 40 some years ago and were sent to colonize.
2) The entire thing will be challenging and possible (almost definatly) life threatening.
3) There ain't no corpses, they are just gone (the former residents)
Keep signing up, I will post my character and begin to set up for the groups land fall/IC post while leaving room for new commers!

Species: Monkey/ with cybernetic implants.
Hieght: 2 feet.
Description: A Hutain monkey, they have brown fur, and a capuchin monkey's face, but they also have long red strands of thick hair coming from their heads. Corsin was taken in by a scientist, and given cybernetic implants, therefore he is as intelligent as an above average human, can speak english, and knows how to handle a gun. He has a red glowing cyborg eye, which basically looks like one goggle piece strapped over his eye. He also has a chip slot in the back of his head, and can handle robots, and mechanical stuff easily.

Once the other three or four post their characters I'll start the IC thread and we can get on with this.
On a side note, interesting choice of a monkey, but at least he is a usuful monkey, might be interesting to see how people react to him.

Occupation: Former undercover organized labor union officer

Bio: One of his most distinguishing features is a cybernetic right forearm. Gained from a botched raid. After that he lost his confindance and was quickly shoved into retirement. Now after several years of psycological help he has mostly recoved and has become an avid amature swordsmen while at the same time maintaining small arm proficincies. Though often times an excellent leader he often times becomes over cautious, a remnient from the horrid raid.

Description: Jugrut is one of the smarter Goblins out there, which makes him a rare commodity indeed. He still speaks with a trademark Goblinese accent, but is typicaly capable of not blowing himself up for extended periods of time. He is usualy seen wearing an oversized toolbelt, bandoleer with AK and ammo, and a sheath for his sword, as well as a helmet with a magnifine glass/binocular goggle attachment.

Description: A tall well built man whose hair is grey shot with streaks of white and a full beard, Griffin tends to wear a skinsuit, over which he wears an old ragged vest with a blood red patch and military fatigues. He was assigned to the Pioneer Two under rather strange circumstances. Primarily assigned as the second in charge of Pioneer Two's small security team, he has proven useful in everything from keeping the computer system running to holding unarmed combat classes to help keep boredom away for the other colonists. In the few violent incidents that have erupted aboard the ship Griffin showed a solid mix of restraint and applied force when it proved necessary. Evasive about his past, he is somewhat distant from his fellow passengers. As second in command of the security team, he has been assigned the job of discovering if any threat remains for the new colony.

Description: A tall slim young man whose strange appearance is apparently the result of the extensive extra training he underwent to join the UWP unit. He almost always is seen wearing the black Imperial fleet fatigues and a sidearm. Relatively quite and solitary, most of his spare time is spent alone practicing his sword technique or at the shooting range. However, his strange record of amazing leadership successes in the Imperial fleet seems to belie this. Oddly the dossier sent by Hydrasoul lists him as a master pilot and technician of small craft, such as scout or reconnaissance ships, as well as a military personel. Hydrasoul also recommends that he be allowed as much personal space as is possible, as the presence of constant psychiatric consulting and treatment are doubtful.
