A page at a time. (ATN: Kaenei, Angelus, DEHC)
The endless wastes stretched away from him into the Horizon. So very different from Hegira, this place of exile. *
*
The Droaidh-Emperator sighed softly and turned away from the balcony, the bitter wind that always blew around the highest point of the complex ruffling his firey red hair and stirring memories buried long ago. His eyes closed for a moment, and then he turned to re-enter his study high atop the Caelistis complex.
*
"Watching the clouds, my love?" Julianne's voice was soft, and yet strong enough to give*the Emperator pause. He looked at her, his eyes glowing slightly in the dim light of the study. She was stretched out languidly on a low divan, a sheer robe pulled loosely about her nudity.
*
He sighed again and sat down next to his wife, his slender hand gently tracing patterns on her almost-bare thigh. "I guess you could say that, caria. * Rather, I was wondering for the thousandth time why we came here..."
*
She smiled at him and pushed herself up to wrap her arms about his broad shoulders. "We came because of Angelus, Anakha, and Kaenei. Your Family, Christopher... You could no longer remain without them."*
*
He kissed her then, deep and full of longing. "Yes, my love... them."

((Taggishness.))
The Emperator swept down the hall, the throngs of people instantly snapping to attention to the sides as he and his advisors glide swiftly through the massive complex. Soon, the representative of Angelus would arrive, and the Emperator would be damned before he missed the chance to greet his daughter personally.*
*
He surged ahead, his advisors struggling to keep up, the twin Nightwalkers floating along directly behind him keeping pace with undead ease. How long had it been since he had last seen X1? Almost a thousand years had passed as they had never been, and Angelus had changed drastically. No longer the military machine it once was, X1 had taken the Emperator's Mandate to heart, and gods above! how he had run with it!
*
MOVE. The Emperator's voice was thunderous even in the wide hallways of the lower complex. An almost-physical force pressed forward from him, and people were shoved out of the way as their bodies reacted without their consent. Faster and faster the Emperator moved, his form becoming a blur as mystic strength coursed through his body. The Nightwalkers kept up easily, but the advisors were left far behind, their oh-so-mortal legs not being able to keep up with the power of the Emperator.*
*
And then he emerged into the harsh light of Sol, the glittering metal of the landing platform already achieving incredible levels of sun-baked heat, and little heatwaves danced in the air before the Emperator. *
*
But, almost as if nature herself gave obiescense to the Emperator, a cloud appeared from nowhere and slid across the sun's glaring face, casting the Complex in shadow. The Emperator smiled softly to himself, and coolness spread from his feet, and the heated metal became almost cold to the touch.*
*
Soon, very soon, she would arrive. Soon, they would be rejoined.*

Blu stared across the emptiness, her azure eyes seeing far beyond the mere bubble of habitation within the WorldDisc. Across vast distances, to the ancient home of the Caelistis Gens...
By all rights, she shouldn't remember Hegira, being nothing more than a future idea dreamed by the X-series in their persuit of the perfect machine/man hybrid. But still... the memories of the Archailect flooded her mind, filling her with the same emotions that filled the first of her race. Rage at the treason of one of their beloved Caels, fear for their lives at the self-righteous hands of the pompous Garamonde bastards, and an undying loyalty to the Man that sacrificed so much to allow them the chance to escape...
At the same moment, an immense sense of guilt for being the main reason so many had to die...
She sighs, and her eyes refocus on the now, away from the devestated and desolate landscape of an almost-forgotten planet so very far away. Soon, everything would change... Soon, Angelus would once again be reunited with their Progenators.
But where would that take them? Angelus was so much more than it was back then... So much greater than a handfull of loosely-linked battle AI. Would the Imperator want them to return to their position in the military? Would He still expect them to be subservient?
She doubted it, and her memories of Xanone served as a reminder of the nature of the relationship between Angelus and the Imperator. So much love... So much self-sacrifice for the good of the other.
She shakes her head and squares her shoulders, preparing for the long jump through space to Terra. I guess there is no better way to learn the answers...
With that, quantum energies swirl about her, and she is elsewhere...
