The Fountain of Youth [Part One] [Closed RP]
The boat landed in the New World and the 16 men got off. The task was clear - find the Fountain of Youth! Roberto Martenez, Castel Ruiz, Emanuel Rodrigez, Piccaso Martenez, Cristobal Ramirez, and ten others were in a strange and foreign land looking for a mythical place. The odds were against them, but the conquistadors had hope...
[OOC: I'll do better posts later, but I have to go for the night now.]
Where did we land at?
Cristobal jumped out of the boat and made his way up to the shore. The cold waters of the Atlantic and the waves impeded his progress somewhat. Holding his gunpowder and rifle above the water, he finally made it to shore, where he sat down on the beach and waited for the others.
Castel Ruiz surveyed the scene from the landing site, colorful birds were darting here and there through the trees and all kinds of weird calls of the native beasts rang through the air. Yes, fortune had smiled upon him, this would be so much better than being cooped up at those dreadfully boring parties his father seemed to be always throwing.
His father had personified boredom, he and his family had stayed mostly at their estate having servants rush about doing things for them, Castel found this all monotonous and felt like he needed an escape. When he heard of an expedition to this "new world" filled with savages and adventure he immediately joined up with the company. Finding a legendary artifact and having his deeds sung about when he returned triumphantly would an added bonus.
He turned about to see a slightly older man of peasant stock getting off the ship, ah a servant, most useful. "Hey, you! Rodrigez isn't it? Get my things off the ship for me, please..."
Where did we land at?
[OOC: Flordia. That's where most of the searches of the Fountain did start.]
[OOC2: I appoligize for not being able to get on NationStates since the weekend. My life has been busy.]
Picasso Martenez walked off the small boat, and waded through the water, it felt good on his feet, and legs. He reached the beach, and put two boxes of equipment onto the pile, he noticed Cristobal sitting on the beach and said.
"You know, you can help unload," And then waded back to get more supllies.
Cristobal nodded and stood up. "Okay, I'm just happy to get off of that damn ship." He waded out into the water and grabbed some packs off of the boat. He set them down on the beach and went back for some more.
Roberto left the ship. "Where are the horses?" he asked. "Where are my weapons? Where are our supplies?" It was clear that he was bossy. "Where's the army that's supposed to be with our expidition?"
"I assume they are still on the ship SeƱor. This is only the first boatload."
"They probably turned around, and left us to do this by ourselves," Picasso said. "If I were you brother, I would send complaints to the president, we need a tighter fleet coordination."
By looks Picasso appeared to be spanish, and looked kinda like a pirate (Think Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean).
[OOC: Crap! I forget who I am competing with for second in command.
Bump (Don't want this to die.)
-while unloading boxes from the boat Picasso acedentally knocks a box over which bumps into another one.-
Cristobal shouts, "No, my tortillas!" he grabs the box out of the water and tosses it on the beach. While he is on the beach he sees some of the plants rustling unnaturally and he fancied that he caught a brief glimpse of a human face. "Hey, I think someone else is out here."
"What?" Picasso asked as he walked onto the beach. He looked in the bushes and thought he saw a face as well.
"Umm, there is something in there," he said poiting.
"What the **** is that?" asked Roberto.
"Should I shoot it?" Cristobal raised his musket and sighted down the barrel into the bush. He pulled back the hammer and waited for confirmation from the captain.
Roberto paused. "Wait!" he exclaimed. "We don't want to alarm it. Ready your swords, men, and attempt to sneak up and capture it - or at least see what it is. We don't know if it is a person or wild beast, though, so be careful." He drew his sword. "Keep your muskets ready, just in case."

OOC: Thank you Hattia for the link...
Emanuel surveyed the area. It was warm and humid, but very pretty. Perhaps it would be something that he could get easily used to. He unslung his gun and supplies and began to walk around a bit until he heard the commotion. He took a knife out of his pocket and quietly crept trough the foliage towards the source of his companions' excitement.
The group advanced on whatever was there. They prepared to lunge at it, weapons ready. They saw it this time...
[OOC: Hattia, do you want to reveal what it at this point?]
It's supposed to be a native. And sorry for not replying, been having PC troubles...
