Goblins like to play football, expect with fewer rules and an explosive ball.

Explosives make any game better.

There's no "official" national sport, but the Marathon Flaming contests draw spectators from around the country. The last winner kept his flame going for a full 117 seconds!

Field hockey and handball are popular, but the most popular sport is soccer. When the first league has its playoffs, 90% of the population of the affected cities watch the games. When the national team, the Orange-Blues, play, it's even more extreme. A general strike couldn't be more harmful for the economy.

But seriously, debating (anything and anyone), oh, and the Military Olympics, where people are set up in mock-wars agaisnt one another, the most intelligent, bold, etc become the generals and officers in charge of the armies. All players are ranked for skill with their weapons (similar tot he MILES gear the army uses to train soldiers), tactics, accuracy, and the like.

Dodging bullets.

Seriously, all sports are encouraged equally. If people want to play it, they can play it. If organisations can make money by sponsoring them, they can sponsor them. There is, however, no officially recognised national sport. The government doesn't care to meddle in that particular aspect of citizen's lives.

Teakland

A message from The People's Republic of Teakland

The people of Teakland are better known for their intellectual output than their sporting prowess; however, as the government encourages physical development as well as mental, sport plays an important part in the lives of many of our citizens.

Teakland's Official Sport is Rattan Hack, which consists of kicking a Rattan ball through a hoop that hangs on either side of the court. For a mental example, think a combination of soccer and basketball, as you can't use your hands to get the ball down the court, and you have to kick the ball through a tall hoop.

Teakland's unofficial sport, however, is Hockey. Since our nation's All-Star team made it to the Finals of Cherry Cup Four (but, sadly, not far INTO the finals), hockey mania has hit the public, and sales of hockey equipment have skyrocketed.

Other sports Teaklanders enjoy are: fencing, European Football / soccer, tennis, and Teak Football, which is like the Amerigan-rules football, but with a longer and skinnier field, 3 downs instead of four, and a lot of unfair comparisons.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Donavan Greenwood
Minister of Sports and Recreation
