Mission: Exploration and Contact

05-03-2004, 22:34
Though typically confined and content to thier little square of land, in every third or fourth generation an explorer is born. Though this phenomenon is popularly shunned and largely ignored, the government is eager to snatch up these eager dreamers and put them to use, since the government itself is too lazy to get up and go out to meet anyone else.

The lastest abnormality was but 12 years old when he was sent out. His family was quite happy with the arrangement, since they now had room in thier house to adopt thier very own midget kitty, which we all know require obsessive attention and an entire room to themselves. They named the midget kitty Marvey.

The young explorer was named Carmy, given and raft and a compassed, and was told to "have at it." So, "have at it" he did. He sailed for four months, before his raft beached on an island such as Carmy had never seen before. Unlike his own boring, barren, barely-hospitable home, this world had so many colors it made Carmy's eyes hurt.

But, oh, the wonder.

The very trees and flowers of this land fascinated him. And it was with the same wide-eyed innocent look on his face that he first met an inhabitant of the island.
