SVECIA TO CELEBRATE CENTENNAL
Weeklong celebrations to be attended by many
Friday, 5 March

Plans are already being made for Svecia's upcoming centennial celebrations. Svecia's National Day, March 15th, is normally celebrated with much pomp and circumstance, but this year the celebration will be extra special with the date coinciding with a recent Ministry of the State report which stated that Svecia's population has reached 2 billion for the first time.

The celebration will start off Monday, March 8 with a celebration of Citizens' Day, the newly proclaimed national holidy to honor the 2 billion citizens. Throughout the week various events will take place around the country, with many special cultural and historical exhibits and activities being staged in the capitol of Vilämna.

The Svecian national voetbal team has recently qualifyed for the World Cup and will be busy playing in the Cup next week. It is hoped that the team's success will propel patriotism back home in Svecia.

The Svecian King, Karl-Heinz Friedrich, has extended his invitation to all nations, inviting delegates and heads of state to attend the celebrations. The party culminates March 15th with a National Day celebration. Security has been placed on high alert for the week as a precaution in response to recent violent events in the region, but no attacks are expected and no plots have been uncovered.
