"My fellow Ruhrians, during our trying times liberating the Burmese people we have found ourselves in a troubling position in accordance to our foreign policies. The Carter Doctrine, which is our right to interfere with events in other nations should it be in the best interest of the Ruhrian people and the world, as well as the Pacific Peace Act, both recognize that Ruhr has the power to not only protect its own islands and territories, but also the rest of the Pacific Ocean's sovereign peoples. The Alliance of Pacific Nations, which Ruhr has headed for the past twelve years, honors a mutual defence plan in case of war, invasion, or any other conflict.

"Recently uncovered plots that threatened not only our allies in the Pacific, but Ruhr's holdings throughout it and its mainland itself, have been foiled and dealt with. Former allies of the Californian Republic have chosen to imperialise beyond their current borders in America. Wishing for dominance in the Pacific Rim, California and its current coalition have built up and prepared to engage in armed conflict to take the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand, and several other Oceania islands. Currently, the DIA is unsure of Ruhr being a target, but if its holdings in the Philippines are targeted, they are sure that it was involuntary hostility.

"The reasoning behind these plots are unknown, and Ruhr, as it has in the past, will not accept lebensraum as a legitimate excuse for war, if not expansion. As it stands after heated discussions between the California's Communist Regime President Demonstrovea, the threat has been lowered and quite possibly eliminated. However, we may not allow this to happen. California's threat to our allies sovereignties are not to go without a backlash. As of 1500 today, I have ordered the 2nd Pacific Attack Fleet to patrol along the waters of California and Alaska. Ruhr will not back down to threats, and Ruhr will honor our alliance with fellow Pacific Islanders.

"I am not asking Parlaiment for a declaration of war, nor am I asking for the ability to send troops anywhere in the Pacific. I am asking the public though to recognize the threat that our former ally must now be associated with. Should the Californian Republic chose to imperialise on the Pacific Rim, Ruhr will go to war to defend our allies. We will not back down, we will stand in the face of danger. I give this message to both the leaders of our allied islands, and I give this message directly to the California Republic.

"Thank you, and God bless the Pacific."

Fleet Admiral Victoria Powell observed the news broadcast from Ruhr, and made mental notes of Carver's speech. She then proceded to walk, leisurly, towards the back of her relatively large ship, to the weapons targeting room. The Ormsby Class Arsenal Cruiser had enough fire power to wipe most small nations, and many larger ones, and had several targeting suites in order to deal with the problem.

The ship had been in orbit over an unclaimed portion of the Pacific Ocean for a little over a week now, preparing for the rapis assault to come. The mean and women in the room stood at attention as Powell entered, and she returned the salutes.

"I want full targeting of the Ruhrian fleet. None of hte major weapons, just the smaller ones. We need to save the heavy guns for the landing. Tell me if they get within 15Nm of the California coast. I want to know every move they make."

She left the room, and then proceded to the hanger, where a MD-25 Special Operations Insertion Craft was being prepared. She boarded, along with 25 ICMC Marines, and left the Star Hunter for the Colsten, one of the many so called 'logistic' ships. They weren't really needed, as a single Ormsby class could survive on its own for up to three years without needing refueling, but they were good to have around for Beta Whiskey, or simply Bitch Work.

From the Colsten, Powell released a statement directly to Chancellor Dmitri Carver's office, stating that should any action whatsoever, offensive or defensive in nature, taken towards the Californian people, would be observed as a threat, and there forces would be fired upon. She further stated that, in the same name as the Carter Doctrine, this attack would be seen as anti-benifical to Imitora, and therefore they would have the right to interfere with Ruhrian actions.

She then returned to the Star Hunter, and prepared to send a transmision to the commander of the California and Alaskan forces, requestiong a meeting, in a secure location on board the Stargazer, one of the pre-prepped ground assault frigates.

Did you understand my post? I meant that my fleet was on the border of California And Alaska waters. Not on her coast! And BTW, I am in the APTO also, "ALLY". And it takes a while for ships to get places, you know?

Well, this came out of no where. Despite the fact that when nations go on conquer-fests, they often ignore the desolate little island Cyberutopia is situated on, we shall be on watch for any hostile actions towards Japan, the closest landmass to us. Logistics and reconissance satellites will be posted over California and Alaska and possible hot spots in the Pacific from now on. Also, this APTO alliance has gone unheard of to us until now. Or wait...are we a part of this alliance? Would someone check, we have too many alliances to keep track of. We should really start writing this down.

Marshall King sighed and waved the Comms technician to attention. "Technician, what language am I speaking?"

Tech-6 Wilkins looked confused. "Sir? Ah ... it sounds like Standard English, sir."

King smiled encouragingly. "Very good, Wilkins." she said. "Now tell me what language you were speaking just now."

"Sir? I don't unders ..."

King pointed her finger at the confused technician, who promptly shut up. "Listen to me carefully. Unless it is absolutely necessary to make things clearer in a message, I never want to hear any political or military gobbledygook ever again. Is that clear?"

Wilkins had ten years of experience with the EOE military, so he knew exactly what to say. "Yes, sir!"

The Marshall nodded for Wilkins to return to the 'at ease' position and leaned back in her chair. "All right, then. In plain English ..."

"Sir, Ruhr and California-Alaska seem to be heading toward a war over the Philippines. This might give us an opening to snap up a few more territories around the Rim. We might even get a few of the smaller nations nearby to ask us for protection."

King was scrolling through the appropriate Signals traffic as Wilkins spoke. She nodded. "Good analysis, Wilkins. I'll pass it along to HQ with my approval. Dismissed."

She ignored Wilkins' salute and turned back to the message traffic. After calling up a few more items, she hit a large red button on her desk console. Her monitor cleared and the Warlord's dark features appeared on the screen. "Yes, Marshall?"

"Sir, Signals has relayed information about a possible Ruhr-California conflict in the western Pacific." She hit a key and transferred the relevant files to the Warlord's console at HQ. "My techs suggest that we might be able to increase the scope of Riposte at little cost as a result."

The Warlord nodded somberly as he scanned the file. "I agree." he said. "I'll get some of the Ministry flacks out to bend ears and elbows along the Rim. How's Task Force Champion doing?"

"Their part of Riposte is already accomplished, sir. They were on their way back for refit and refuel. I can turn 'em around ..."

Shaking his head, the Warlord sighed. "No, bring 'em in and get 'em back out again ASAP. Keep Task Force Reaver on station until Champion gets back in the area. Tell Admiral Azakian to finish up out west and bring Task Force Howard in for refit. We'll use him for Phase III of Riposte."

Marshall King's keyed in the orders as she got them. She looked up at the screen. "Sir, I suggest we put a few heavy birds on the northern tier of outposts."

Nodding again, the Warlord said, "Good idea. I'll transfer the 14th Bomber Wing and the 2nd Air Force to Riposte. Put 'em where you need 'em."

King keyed in the orders and sent them to his console for approval. The Warlord quickly flashed them with his approval and sent them back. "Good work, Marshall. Get the parade started." His face faded as he cut the connection.

All over the Pacific, the Marshall's orders set troops and equipment into motion. Barrage balloons laden with electronics lifted into the skies over key islands and archipelagos, and Combat Air Patrols were doubled. Ships sliced through the dark waters to take up station at pre-determined points at the edge of the Dominion's new area of control.

Back in Kaligrad, heavy equipment groaned to life and several hundred tonnes of supplies and equipment were pre-staged near the docks for a fast turnaround on the returning ships. The long barracks tunnels in the mountains near the harbor quietly filled with thousands of men and their equipment.

When the storm finally broke, the Dominion would be ready.

dude, it's been so long since I've been in a war, much less kicked ass. I need to test my strenth agenst other nations, and edit my millitary based on the results of the conflict.

2. the Californian Repubic passed its referendum to declare independence from the United States of America on September 9, 1999.

3. the Republic of California was officially formed with its unofficial capital in Vancouver, BC. on September 18, 1999.

4. the Republic of California officially declared independence from the United States of America, and established its official capital as Los Angeles, CA. on November 19, 1999.

5. the United States of America conveniently and officially recognized California's independence on July 7, 2017... only after California's army invaded the United States, and was on its way to Washington DC to force Maddox's surrender at gun point.

Ok, I am honestly sick of this OOC bullshit. If you post OOC, post it in telegrams only. And here is a list of people who I whole-heartedly ignore:

People who cannot write even a complete paragraph of characted developement, and chose simply to post numbers while not describing the situation or realising exactly what is going on. These are mostly the same people who use pictures to describe what is going on in their thread instead of actually writing it out. This is fine if it is an actual post and the picture is tasteful and needed (IE: A map, a diagram of fleet positions, showing what a tank battallion echolon looks like), indeed. However, folks who just post pictures along with the OMG I LAUCNH 2001 MISSILZ AT YOU AND MY ARLEIGH BURKES TURN AROUND AND FLEE BEFORE YOU CAN FIRE ALTHOUGHT THEY KEEP FIREING AT YOUR TANKS ON THE WATER!! people. If you post like this, or anywhere near this, you are ignored.

Plus, I put a carpet ignore on space tech. This is 2005 (realistically speaking). Even the top technologically advanced Real Life nations would not have the capability of drop ships for a good number of years. The closest thing to a drop ship was the 1960's Saturn V Rocket's engine for which the capsule fell into a water. And I tell you, those three people inside....those three spec ops can sure take a country down. Ok? Do you get the idea of what I am saying? No country in 2005 or even up to 2010 will most likely not have a functioning space fleet, functioning meaning transportation. I am not even going to say anything about lasers. Those are definitely closer to 2010 range. Although most countries claim to have them, it is highly doubtful that they are as effective as one might wish to have.

Ok, and did I mention this. Belem, and this goes for everyone else, if you cannot write more than a sentence why you are going to defend a nation, I ignore you flat out. That is piss-poor RPing. I will not say anymore. If you fit into any of these categories, or think that you are anywhere close to them, and be honest with yourself, just don't even bother posting here any more. Just go back to your little hole. No, this isn't an attempt to lose enemies, or allies for that matter, this is an attempt to maintain the dignity of a well written thread.

Dear Cyberutopian Allies,

As of this moment, Ruhr and California sit on the brink of war over imperialising the Pacific Rim. Unfortunately, you really should be on mIRC to understand seeing as how this all is being discussed there.

A few weeks ago, Ruhr received an anonymous telegram warning it that a foreign, powerful aggressor was plotting to invade either Ruhr, its allies, or its territories abroad. A few days ago, Ruhr finally identified the aggressor as California and Alaska. After some harsh words, it was believed a compromise was made. However, Ruhr decided not to be bribed into looking the other way while a country flattens one of its allies. I've now issued an ultimatum to California, as you have read.

APTO is New Genoa's clever alliance of Role-Players. The Allied Powers Treaty Organisation was formed quite some time ago and made known during the Melkor Wars. Ruhr, as a somewhat member, is allied to both Atlantian Outcasts and Imitora. These two countries are aggressors in this event, as well as members of a hostile new alliance.

Sandra casually walked into her office and used her remote control to turn her Comms Screen to the National News Update, after sitting down in her chair and sipping her Irish Creme coffee the a news reporter chimed in.

"In todays news Dmitri Carver the Chancellor of Ruhr, has challenged the Sovereign Federation of California and has put several surface ships on the border of California's territorial waters."

This prick has the balls to formally drop the pact and then... and then on top of that he mispronounced my name... Demonstrovea... For the sake of K'thal!"

General Torres answered "What measures should we take towards this?"

"I think we shouldn't challenge them just yet, but I want them to know that if they want to challenge us... we'll answer the challenge right back with an equal or greater threat... notify the Western Division Offices in Pearl Harbor, San Angeles, Anchorage and San Diego. If he is sincere about wanting to fight us... we need to show him that we're not going to go without a fight."

Sandra then turned off the Comms Screen, and then pulled a couple tissues from a box on her desk and cleaned up the coffee and briskly walked out of her office.

Im assuming this has fallen by the way side as I already control Vietnam and Cambodia isn't to far behind...

Syskeyia, I've asked you before to stop posting in my threads when you don't need to...especially OOC. If you please, never do it again.

Thank you, Ruhr, for refreshing our memory of the APTO (which we are a member of, lest we forget again. :oops: ). The First Homeland Defense Fleet has been newly created in the case that C&A should take offensive actions against Japan.

I still hold that while my future tech forces are thourly trouncing the enemy in SEA, my minor modern tech forces (I keep a good handfull for situations like this) are fully prepared to assist C&A in their movment across the pacific.
