BBC and the Licence fee

Debate has started to rage in the UK over whether the BBC should continue to draw all the income from our TV Licence fee, or whether it should be divided between it and other channels.

It has also been suggested that the TV Licence be scrapped and the BBC put on a pay-per-view basis, paid for through general taxes or be forced to generate its own advertising revenue.

I'm interested to see what the majority of people reckon – including those living outside the UK, as you are in a good position to provide insights into the ways in which your own countries run things.
