Don't get too excited. This just measures the size of your military compared to your population, not the quality of training, equipment, or intelligence of its soldiers.

You have a good score though.

Wazzu is ranked 23rd in the region and 1,344th in the world for Largest Defense Forces (per capita).

Guys, do remember that quality over quantity works to a certain extent...

Hmm, Hmm, well I'm not so sure, the description is somewhat ambiguous.

Nations ranked high on this list spend disproportionately large amounts of money on national defense, and are most secure against foreign aggression.

So it does say its about military budget in proportion to the population, which in turn does reflect to a high degree the potential quality of equipment, supply, etc, as well as its quantity.

However, it also says the "highest defense forces per capita," which could (and this potentially contradicts the first interpretation) indicate the largest amount of troops in proportion to the population.

And of course it also says "are most secure against foreign aggression," which I think is *derived* from the stats and not a guarantee at all. It's more a general statement; higher defense budgets per capita OR higher amount of troops per capita, either way you prioritize the military more or less than other nations.

I like interpreting it as referring only to the budget, which means the size of my military is not directly related to my military spending, and that makes more sense to me since it'd be easier for those UN folks to wrangle a budget instead of a list of all personnel, from your average government help line, and because the CIA computes budgets in its world factbook, not military population. (I think. Hmm, lemme go check that.)

And I don't like the implication that if you're high on this list you automatically have masses of unwashed hordes, and if you're low you have a few special elites-- I think it makes more sense overall if its a budgetary analysis, and then what you do with that budget is up to the roleplayer. A high budget or low budget nation can produce either 'quality' or 'quantity,' although a higher budget nation can theoretically buy/produce/operate more quality for a given quantity (US defense style) or more quantity for a given quality (USSR defense style) than lower budget nations.
